Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

141: Dining party investigationAfter returning to the company, Wang Ning told Lu Qingyu about the matter.

”CEO Lu, this is a blatant targeted attack. I suspect that Tang Yin is behind it.”

Lu Qingyu felt there was no need to suspect; it was definitely Tang Yin, as no one else had the financial resources to do so.

”It seems some people want to teach me a lesson.”

The phone suddenly rang. Wang Ning took a glance at it, and the caller ID was actually Guo Yang.

Wang Ning picked up: ”CEO Guo, what can I do for you?”

This time, Guo Yang’s tone carried a hint of schadenfreude: ”CEO Wang, I heard you’ve encountered a little trouble recently.”

Wang Ning: ”CEO Guo is certainly well-informed.”

Guo Yang: ”Sigh, this circle of ours isn’t that big. Once there’s a bit of news, everyone knows it.”

Wang Ning: ”What is the reason for your call today, CEO Guo?”

Guo Yang: ”What a coincidence. I know you’ve encountered trouble recently, so I’ve come to bring you some good news.”

Wang Ning: ”What good news?”

Guo Yang: ”I know someone who can not only help CEO Wang solve today’s problem but also enable Qingcheng Entertainment to obtain even more and better high-quality resources and treatment.”

Wang Ning: ”And so?”

Guo Yang: ”With such a good opportunity, CEO Wang, you shouldn’t let it slip by. As long as CEO Lu comes out to meet tonight, everything will be fine.”

Hearing this, Wang Ning wanted to curse at Guo Yang and tell him to get lost, but he was stopped by Lu Qingyu. Lu Qingyu mouthed to Wang Ning, telling him to agree.

Suppressing his anger toward Guo Yang, Wang Ning gritted his teeth and said: ”Fine, then CEO Guo, send me the address and time. I will go with CEO Lu tonight.”

A low laugh came from the other end of the line. Guo Yang knew that Lu Qingyu would definitely agree. Before, he was just feigning high-mindedness; now that he was in trouble, he still had to beg for help in a groveling manner.

”I’ll have my secretary send the address to CEO Wang shortly. Please make sure that you and CEO Lu arrive on time tonight.”

After hanging up, Wang Ning unleashed a barrage of insults at Guo Yang.

”This old guy, there is no one more disgusting than him in this circle. Instead of thinking about how to improve his work quality, he spends all day thinking about clinging to power. He hangs around Tang Yin, and everyone calls him a bootlicker. He’s at his age and still doesn’t know how to be ashamed.”

Wang Ning later inquired about Tang Yin and learned quite a bit of gossip. Even though he had a wife, he had dated many 18-year-old girlfriends. There were twenty or thirty famous female celebrities in the circle who had been involved with him.

This guy was promiscuous in his younger years, and liking female celebrities was one thing, but now that he was older, he didn’t even spare male celebrities.

His boss was young and handsome, so he must have been targeted by this old guy.

Wang Ning was especially afraid that Lu Qingyu would suffer: ”Boss, they have ill intentions. Inviting you to dinner definitely has ulterior motives. Why don’t we skip it today?”

Lu Qingyu didn’t think so. He wanted to attend the banquet today precisely to see what kind of person this Tang Yin really was, to test his bottom line first, and then decide how to deal with him.

”It’s just a meal, nothing to be afraid of. Besides, don’t I have you accompanying me?”

After learning about this, Su Jixing vehemently opposed it. He knew Tang Yin better than Wang Ning did.

”Qingyu, you really cannot go to this banquet.”

Su Jixing thought that if he didn’t let Tang Yin see Lu Qingyu, although he was causing trouble now, as long as they held out for a period or let Lu Qingyu go abroad directly, it wouldn’t matter once things cooled down after a while.

But if Tang Yin were to see Lu Qingyu, wouldn’t that be like a lamb entering a tiger’s den?

Lu Qingyu: ”Brother Su, I’m not some naive person who doesn’t understand the world. Don’t worry.”

Lu Qingyu insisted on going, so Su Jixing had no choice but to accompany him. Additionally, Su Jixing temporarily hired two bodyguards, fearing that if Tang Yin got bold, he might just try to snatch someone away.

Guo Yang sent the time and location to Wang Ning. At 9:00 PM at the Zeus Hotel, Tang Yin had already arrived.

Perhaps because he was about to meet his new prey, Tang Yin was in a pretty good mood today. Guo Yang kept pouring wine for Tang Yin on the side.

When the three of them arrived at the hotel and pushed open the door, Lu Qingyu saw Tang Yin at a glance.

Tang Yin sharply sized up Lu Qingyu. They hadn’t had close contact at the awards gala banquet last time, but seeing him now, he was indeed very handsome, and he was quite satisfied.

Guo Yang stood up first to greet them: ”CEO Lu is here, please sit.”

Guo Yang wanted Lu Qingyu to sit next to Tang Yin, but Wang Ning and Su Jixing, seeing this, sat down directly next to Tang Yin, separating Lu Qingyu to sit diagonally across from Tang Yin.

Guo Yang’s expression was awkward. Why were the people around Lu Qingyu so tactless?

Guo Yang also sat down and then said: ”CEO Lu, this is Mr. Tang Yin, Chairman of Boao Finance. Mr. Tang is a business prodigy. His company is involved in both finance and real estate, and it is second to none in our China.”

Lu Qingyu carefully sized up Tang Yin, and then felt a bit disappointed.

Being ugly was one thing, but he didn’t even have a hint of an elite vibe. Instead, he carried an air of a feudal aristocrat who thought highly of himself, looking down on everyone.

Tang Yin, as if giving Lu Qingyu great face, raised his wine glass: ”CEO Lu is late today, you must punish yourself with three glasses.”

With Wang Ning there, how could he let his boss drink? Wang Ning immediately picked up the glass in front of himself: ”Our CEO Lu is young and cannot hold his liquor well. I will drink for him.”

Just as Wang Ning was about to drink, he heard Tang Yin across from him slam his glass onto the table with a loud clang.

His eyes were full of dissatisfaction, as if saying, what status do you have to drink with me? My drinking with your boss is elevating him; what are you supposed to be?

The atmosphere at the dinner table suddenly became tense. Seeing this, Guo Yang immediately tried to smooth things over: ”Sigh, CEO Tang inviting CEO Lu to drink is giving CEO Lu face. CEO Wang, don’t spoil the mood.”

”CEO Lu, wouldn’t you say so?”

Guo Yang hinted at them with his eyes that this was a big shot who could decide the life or death of their company, so they must not offend him.

But Lu Qingyu didn’t buy it at all. Lu Qingyu said directly: ”I came today because I wanted to meet CEO Tang and see what kind of big shot CEO Tang really is. I’ve seen you, but I’m a bit disappointed.”

”There is another question I want to ask CEO Tang. Was it you who ordered these companies to take down our company’s short dramas?”

Hearing Lu Qingyu mention this, Tang Yin put down his glass and leaned back in his chair: ”It seems CEO Lu’s company has encountered some trouble, and the videos have all been taken down, is that right? I am very familiar with the CEOs of these major video streaming platforms. As long as CEO Lu can drink until I am happy tonight, I can say a word to them and have all of CEO Lu’s company’s videos restored.”
