Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

133: The competitor sent trafficThe station was accustomed to such things; Sixth Princess was known for being rebellious.

Lin Feng said, ”A military war film was submitted for review today, scheduled for release during the May Day holiday. It’s called Wolf Warrior. I took a look at the content, and it’s truly excellent with a strong patriotic sentiment. Why don’t we help promote it?”

When Wang Ning contacted someone at Sixth Princess, he discovered an acquaintance there—Lin Feng, who turned out to be his college classmate.

Wang Ning was overjoyed when he saw Lin Feng; he had been worried about not knowing anyone at Sixth Princess, and yet Lin Feng appeared.

The two caught up for a while, and then Wang Ning handed the film he had brought to Lin Feng.

This film was for the internal Staff Member of Sixth Princess to review. Even if they were to help promote it, they needed to understand what the film was actually about.

After Wang Ning left, Lin Feng watched the film when he wasn’t busy. After finishing it, his blood was boiling, and he couldn’t help but recommend the film to the director.

The director asked, ”There haven’t been any support projects for this type of genre recently, right? Why is someone still making this kind of movie?”

The director looked at Lin Feng curiously. Lin Feng replied, ”It was produced independently by an entertainment company. The investment for this film is over two hundred million. Currently, its market share of screenings is 2.4%. I watched the content, and it’s truly excellent; this screening share is too low.”

The director said, ”With such a large investment and no support projects currently, it should be very difficult for them to break even.”

Lin Feng said, ”Exactly. That’s why, Director, I think they are truly patriotic.”

”Apart from the male lead, who has some fame, the others are all veteran actors who aren’t very famous but have solid acting skills. They filmed in Africa for four months. Before filming, they trained for a month and hired professional special forces soldiers as consultants. The fight scenes are very realistic, and the film’s quality is exceptionally good.”

”I think it’s better than all the projects we’ve supported before.”

Lin Feng rambled on for a while.

The director became curious about the film; how good could a movie be to earn such high praise from Lin Feng?

”Bring it here, let me see.”

Hearing the director say this, Lin Feng immediately brought the film’s materials to the director for viewing.

For a film over two hours long, it was impossible for the director to watch every single minute and second. They habitually skipped to the middle of the movie to quickly get into the plot.

However, as he watched, the director suddenly became curious about the earlier content, so he adjusted it back to the beginning, intending to watch it from the start.

Once he started, he couldn’t stop. He watched the film from beginning to end without missing a beat. Especially when he saw the end, with the male lead holding up the national flag while crossing the war zone, the director was deeply moved.

”Good, very good!”

”It’s truly excellent.”

”It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a stirring patriotic film.”

”Lin Feng, Lin Feng.”

The director called out to Lin Feng outside.

Lin Feng walked in and asked, ”Director, how was it? I told you this film was good, right?”

The director said, ”It’s good. Such a good film should be seen by everyone.”

”Use our official website account to promote this film, and then go ask if there are any current support policies for this type of movie. If not, go and fight for some.”

Lin Feng smiled and said, ”No problem, Director. I’ll go right now.”

When Wang Ning contacted the Staff Member at Sixth Princess, he thought the most he would get was the benefit of them helping to promote it on their official website. He didn’t expect them to take the initiative to fight for preferential policies for the film Wolf Warrior.

Originally, there were no preferential policies at this stage, but thanks to Lin Feng’s efforts, they specially created a category for the film Wolf Warrior.

With the backing of Sixth Princess, the cinemas increased the screening share for Wolf Warrior from 2.4% to 5.3%.

This result deeply moved Wang Ning.

Wang Ning and his team were happy to have received more screening slots, but in the eyes of some people, these screening slots were simply not worth mentioning.

When Meng Wei saw this data, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud. He felt that he had won too easily this time.

Qingcheng Entertainment had gone to such great lengths to promote, yet their screening share was not even a fraction of the screening share of the film produced by Xiangwan Entertainment.

The assistant said, ”They don’t even stop to think. The May Day holiday is already packed with star-studded films. How could a genre that is inherently unpopular ever become a hit?”

”Even if Sixth Princess helped them repost it, so what? Sixth Princess reposts so many films every year, and military war films make up more than half of them, but has any of those films stood out? Lu Qingyu is truly naive.”

”President Meng, should we notify the cinemas?”

The assistant meant to notify the cinemas to ensure they didn’t give any prime time slots to Lu Qingyu’s Wolf Warrior.

Meng Wei shook his head confidently and said, ”No, not only do we not need to, but we will even help him promote it.”

The assistant: ”???”

”Huh? This...”

The assistant didn’t understand what Meng Wei meant.

Meng Wei leaned back on the office sofa, picked up a cigar, slowly lit it, and took a puff.

”Their film is destined not to be a hit; everyone knows this. It would be good enough if this film could break even; making money is absolutely impossible.”

”Even if we help them promote it, it won’t bring them much traffic; it might even have the opposite effect.”

The assistant understood what Meng Wei meant after thinking about it. If the quality of the film Wolf Warrior wasn’t up to par, their promotion of Lu Qingyu’s film would actually cause the film’s rating to be even lower.

Meng Wei said, ”Although Lu Qingyu signed this gamble contract willingly, I can’t be too unscrupulous. I will help him promote this film; I want him to lose and be completely convinced.”

Meng Wei was terrifyingly confident now.

The assistant said, ”As expected of President Meng. By helping Lu Qingyu this time, not only will it not affect our movie, but it will also make everyone feel the magnanimity of Xiangwan Entertainment.”

President Meng said, ”Since you understand, go and do it. Also, have the artists in our company help repost it.”

The assistant obediently went to handle it immediately.

The screening share for Wolf Warrior rose to over 5%. Before Wang Ning’s joy had even faded, a group of artists online began to help promote Wolf Warrior on a massive scale.

Wang Ning: ”???”

”Am I seeing this right? Su Min, isn’t she an artist from Xiangwan Entertainment? And Zhong Jiajia, Wang Lingyu—aren’t these all people under Meng Wei? Have they gone crazy? Why are they all promoting Wolf Warrior?”

When something is abnormal, there must be something sinister going on. Wang Ning immediately went to find Lu Qingyu.

”Boss, it’s bad. Meng Wei has gone crazy.”

Wang Ning showed Lu Qingyu the promotional posts that these artists had made for Wolf Warrior online.

”Boss, what do you think Meng Wei is trying to do?”

Lu Qingyu couldn’t help but laugh out loud, ”Delivering his head from a thousand miles away; it’s the thought that counts.”
