Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

143: Buy gold at the bottomQi Fei was puzzled. Lu Qingyu continued, ”Gao Shen Investment has raised such a huge sum of money; they must be planning something big. The price of gold has dropped by 48 yuan in the last three days, which means a large amount of gold has been dumped onto the market. With so much gold entering the market, the price plummets. If they buy the dip at an extremely low price and then drive the price up to sell, they could earn tens of billions in the blink of an eye.”

Qi Fei broke into a cold sweat hearing this. Holy crap, this was too much of a conspiracy.

But what made him sweat even more was Lu Qingyu. Based only on this information, he had deduced such a massive conspiracy? No wonder the guy had assets worth over a hundred million at such a young age. How was his brain wired? He deserved to be rich.

Lu Qingyu continued, ”Gao Shen making such a big move must have state support. I suspect it’s The Federal Reserve. You can find someone to check it out.”

Lu Qingyu hung up the phone, and Qi Fei immediately went to find someone to investigate. If he had been a bit skeptical of Lu Qingyu’s words before, feeling the whole thing was unbelievable, after receiving news of the alliance between Gao Shen and The Federal Reserve, Qi Fei was now a hundred percent convinced by Lu Qingyu.

His boss was simply divine!

Lu Qingyu didn’t stay idle after hanging up. He called Wang Ning, Chen Ting, and Su Jixing over.

The three of them knew the company was facing a small crisis and thought Lu Qingyu might want to discuss how to weather it. They didn’t expect Lu Qingyu to immediately tell Wang Ning to mortgage the shares of Qingcheng Entertainment, Black Pearl Entertainment, and Xiangwan Entertainment for bank loans.

The three of them were dumbfounded after hearing this.

Wang Ning was very confused when he first heard the order:

”Boss, although the company is in a tough spot right now, it hasn’t reached the point where we need to take out loans.”

Chen Ting: ”Yeah, Qingyu, our company isn’t at that stage yet.”

Su Jixing’s face was filled with worry. ”Tang Yin can’t cover the sky with one hand, little brother. We have other ways.”

Lu Qingyu seemed to be thinking. ”True, but I’m not mortgaging the company because of Tang Yin.”

Wang Ning: ”Then why?”

Lu Qingyu: ”I’ve got my eye on a project I want to invest in, and I need a large amount of capital right now.”

Lu Qingyu thought the three would ask what project it was and then advise him to be cautious. Instead, the three looked at each other and then breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Wang Ning: ”Boss, why didn’t you say so earlier?”

Chen Ting: ”I still have some fixed assets. Should I lend them to you as well?”

Su Jixing: ”Me too.”

Lu Qingyu: ???

Is something not right here!

”Aren’t you going to ask what I’m investing in?”

Wang Ning: ”God of Wealth, what are you going to invest in?”

Lu Qingyu: !!!

Chen Ting: ”Little brother, I still have faith in you.”

The three of them would sooner suspect Lu Qingyu was gay than doubt his investment vision, especially Wang Ning.

Chen Ting felt there was something metaphysical about his little brother. Not only did he have good luck, but his vision was also very sharp. Investing alongside him was definitely the right move.

Finally, with the trust of the three, Lu Qingyu mortgaged all his assets, including the Hot Pot Restaurant Chain which had expanded to 70 locations. In the end, he raised 4.2 billion yuan. This figure exceeded his expectations; he had thought 3 billion would be good enough.

Lu Qingyu’s bold moves caused quite a stir in the industry. Everyone knew about the blacklist order, and seeing Lu Qingyu begin to mortgage his assets, they all thought he was going bankrupt.

”What a pity. He had a great future as a star. If he hadn’t offended a big shot, he might have become a top-tier celebrity.”

”Lu Qingyu’s ability to make money is good, but he’s too proud. He’s still young, after all.”

”If Lu Qingyu could just humble himself before Tang Yin, things might not have ended up like this.”

Tang Yin secretly rejoiced upon learning of Lu Qingyu’s actions. It seemed that in a few days, Lu Qingyu would come back to beg him.

Guo Yang clung to Tang Yin like a plaster. Out of Tang Yin’s 3 billion investment, 200 million belonged to Guo Yang. Guo Yang had finally managed to squeeze information out of Tang Yin about Gao Shen and The Federal Reserve teaming up to short the Dragon Country market, and he immediately asked Tang Yin to let him invest as well.

Tang Yin originally looked down on that small amount of money, but surprisingly, Guo Yang sold off many of his properties to scrap together 200 million, so Tang Yin brought him along.

The funds were in place. It was the fifth consecutive day of gold price drops. It had fallen from the initial 688 to 432. Gold was bleeding out.

Tang Yin watched the gold price drop every day, feeling extremely good. Once the seventh day arrived and they bought the dip in gold, it would be his time to make a fortune.

However, Lu Qingyu still hadn’t made a move.

Qi Fei hadn’t been able to sleep at all for the past few days. At the thought of handling 4.2 billion, he couldn’t sleep. He had never seen so much money in his life.

But the boss hadn’t told him to move yet. He was panicking every day. The price had already dropped this far; why weren’t they moving?

Qi Fei finally couldn’t take it anymore and called Lu Qingyu:

”Boss, when exactly are we going to make our move?”

Lu Qingyu knew Qi Fei was anxious. The Americans’ massive operation wouldn’t last long, likely because they feared the public would catch on. It would probably only last a week.

Lu Qingyu: ”Let’s make our move tomorrow night.”

Qi Fei: ”Alright, Boss. But Boss, those foreigners are really malicious. They want to disrupt our market and take our people’s money. It’s a pity we have too little money to buy much; our Dragon Country market is bound to suffer.”

Lu Qingyu thought for a moment and said, ”That’s simple. After you finish buying tomorrow night, leak the news to the wall street aunties.”

Qi Fei: ??? ”Huh? Why?”

Lu Qingyu gave a sinister smile. ”Just leak it, and you’ll see.”

Qi Fei didn’t understand, but he did as he was told. The next day, he invested all 4.2 billion into gold. The price had already dropped to 398. After the purchase was complete, he spread the news to the wall street aunties’ group chats.

The executives at Gao Shen Bank were all incredibly excited as they watched the gold price hit 398. This wasn’t the bottom; they could drop it a bit more. Within two days, they would buy back the gold at the dip and make a killing.

Johnson was a manager at Gao Shen Bank. He had put all his assets into this. Predicting that his investment would soon double, he couldn’t help but start celebrating early.

But the gold price suddenly saw a small fluctuation, moving from 398 to 402. No one knew what was happening, so Johnson immediately calmed everyone down.

”Don’t be afraid, everyone. Market fluctuations are normal. It’s possible that Dragon Country noticed the gold price was off and wanted to buy back gold. This is all within our plan. Dragon Country can’t possibly raise that much money in the short term. We’ll continue to increase our positions tonight. The gold price will definitely drop further. Just wait for two days to close the net and make money.”
