Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

138: Someone wants to be my sugar daddyThe external security guards broke through Meng Wei’s men and immediately stepped forward to restrain Meng Wei.

Meng Wei was stunned. Meeting Lu Qingyu’s gaze, he broke into a cold sweat. It was only at this moment that he realized he had never truly seen what kind of person Lu Qingyu was; he was simply a demon.

The live stream was still ongoing. Because Lu Qingyu and Wu Yao had delayed the schedule significantly, the two of them no longer accepted the Host’s interview and headed directly into the inner hall.

The artists following them also hurriedly signed their names and entered the inner hall.

Many people in the inner hall had also caught wind of this major gossip. After Lu Qingyu entered, their gazes involuntarily fell upon him.

Lu Qingyu’s seat was in the second row, and he sat down immediately upon entering the inner hall.

The first row was reserved by the organizers for big shots in the business world, and the best seat in the first row was occupied by a real estate tycoon in his fifties, Tang Yin.

Tang Yin had a protruding belly, his hair was combed to a greasy shine, and his eyes were half-lidded, looking like an old patriarch.

From the moment he sat down, business elites and artists constantly came over to greet him; even the film festival’s organizing team specially came over to chat for a bit.

Tang Yin mainly focused on investment and real estate projects. He was ranked 79th on the Forbes World’s Billionaires list and possessed immense strength. He was one of the investors for this film festival. According to custom, no matter the activity in any industry, they would send Tang Yin an invitation, but whether the big shot showed up depended entirely on his mood.

Tang Yin was also one of the judges for the Hehuan Film Festival. He came this time mainly to see if there were any young, beautiful girls or handsome young men at the film festival.

Everyone was very respectful to Tang Yin on the surface, but everyone also knew that this old lecher had been surrounded by beauties in his youth, and the older he got, the more depraved his tastes became; now, he particularly liked handsome young men.

The ambitious ones constantly hovered near him, while those without ambition avoided him.

From the moment Lu Qingyu entered, Tang Yin’s gaze fell on him intermittently.

The first and second rows were close together. After Lu Qingyu sat down, he felt Tang Yin’s eyes sizing him up—slimy and lecherous. Without even needing to investigate, Lu Qingyu knew exactly what kind of character this man was.

Sitting next to Tang Yin was the CEO of Shanhai Entertainment, Guo Yang. Guo Yang was someone very good at reading the room; his company had two male artists whom he had personally introduced to Tang Yin.

He had gone through a lot of trouble to get this seat next to Tang Yin. Seeing Tang Yin frequently turning back to look at Lu Qingyu, he knew Tang Yin was interested in the boy.

Guo Yang started the conversation: ”CEO Tang, there’s a blockbuster movie this year with unprecedentedly high box office numbers called Wolf Warrior. I wonder if CEO Tang has heard of it?”

Tang Yin’s half-closed eyes opened: ”I’ve heard of it. The lead actor is named Lu Qingyu, right?”

Seeing Tang Yin take the bait, Guo Yang knew his guess was correct.

“This young man is quite something. His father is also the owner of a small company. I heard this Lu Qingyu was swapped with a poor child at birth and was raised in poverty for over a decade. After his father discovered this, he took him back but didn’t want to reveal his identity, likely thinking his upbringing was too poor to be presentable. In a fit of rage, the kid sued his father and severed their relationship.”

This was the first time Tang Yin had heard of this, and it sounded interesting: ”Looking at him now, his upbringing doesn’t seem poor. His father’s vision isn’t very good.”

Guo Yang laughed twice: ”Don’t people in the entertainment industry rely entirely on packaging?”

Guo Yang’s implication was that Lu Qingyu’s current appearance was all an act; in reality, he was just an ignorant poor boy who should be easy to get a hold of.

“But CEO Tang shouldn’t underestimate him either. Although this kid is only 18, he’s already the owner of two entertainment companies. He’s quite good at business and has very good luck.”

Guo Yang was truly an old hand in the entertainment industry. After he said this, Tang Yin became even more interested in Lu Qingyu.

Young, handsome, and lucky. Moreover, according to Guo Yang, this Lu Qingyu used to be poor, which meant he could be handled with money.

“If CEO Guo is familiar with him, you can introduce us.”

Guo Yang wasn’t familiar with Lu Qingyu at all and hadn’t even spoken to him, but earning a favor from Tang Yin wasn’t easy. He immediately accepted the task happily:

“Familiar, yes. We’re all in the same circle, so of course we’re familiar. I’ll introduce him to CEO Tang later.”

Tang Yin smiled: ”That little girl next to him also looks quite pleasing to the eye.”

Guo Yang tilted his head and glanced over. Sitting next to Lu Qingyu was Wu Yao, the female lead of Wolf Warrior.

“CEO Tang has a good eye. After the award ceremony is over, I’ll have them both come over to say hello.”

The award ceremony began. The film Wolf Warrior received seven nominations. In the end, it won three of those seven: Best Special Effects, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Visuals.

These three awards were interesting; it was as if they were given but also not really given.

Wolf Warrior’s achievements this year were too prominent. If they didn’t give it any awards, people would question the fairness of the Hehuan Film Festival.

However, the three most important awards—Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Film—were not granted to it.

These three awards belonged to three different films, but Lu Qingyu noticed a detail: when these three awards were announced, Guo Yang in the first row was constantly congratulating Tang Yin.

Lu Qingyu immediately understood. It seemed those three films were all related to this Tang Yin.

At the gala after the award ceremony, Guo Yang headed straight for Lu Qingyu and Wu Yao.

Lu Qingyu had originally planned to take Wu Yao for a quick lap around the venue and then leave.

He was blocked by Guo Yang before even finishing half a lap.

“Hello, CEO Lu. I am the manager of Shanhai Entertainment, my name is Guo Yang.”

Lu Qingyu recognized Guo Yang as the one in the first row hovering around the big shot to flatter him, and the one who clapped the most enthusiastically—one would have thought his own company’s artists had won the awards.

Lu Qingyu’s first impression of Guo Yang was poor; he was a typical ’smiling tiger,’ his eyes full of calculation.

“Is there something, CEO Guo?”

“CEO Lu is young and promising. I’ve watched the film Wolf Warrior several times; it’s truly a very good work. Also, Miss Wu Yao’s performance in it was very remarkable.”

Wu Yao felt a bit shy hearing herself mentioned, but she didn’t speak, only lowering her head with a smile.

This was her first time attending such an occasion, and she didn’t know anything. She didn’t have an Agent right now, so before coming, Su Jixing had warned her that the venue would have a mix of people and not to strike up conversations with others casually, especially non-artists.

Wu Yao had heard of many things happening to seniors in the circle before. She knew what Su Jixing told her definitely made sense, so she avoided speaking as much as possible.

Looking at Wu Yao, Guo Yang thought her face was quite elegant, but her behavior was a bit timid; however, she should be easier to handle than Lu Qingyu.
