Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

136: The real boss of the entertainment industryOriginally, only insiders knew about the gamble. Lu Qingyu completed the gamble agreement amount in just half a year. Fearing that Meng Wei would not honor the debt, he publicized the matter.

Qingcheng Entertainment, Black Pearl Entertainment, and Lu Qingyu’s studio all posted statements congratulating Lu Qingyu on winning the gamble agreement with Xiangwan Entertainment.

Netizens, who were idling about, were suddenly fed a massive piece of gossip.

”Holy crap, am I seeing this right? Lu Qingyu and Xiangwan Entertainment had a gamble!”

”What’s even more outrageous is that Lu Qingyu won. And even more outrageous is that the original time for the gamble was three years, but Lu Qingyu won in just half a year!”

”How is this possible? Back in the day, my idol lost so badly in a gamble with Xiangwan Entertainment that he lost everything.”

”My god, Xiangwan Entertainment is the biggest company in the entertainment industry. Does that mean their boss is Lu Qingyu now?”

”Damn, I used to fight and curse with Lu Qingyu’s fans for the idol I support, and now he’s actually become my idol’s boss.”

Lu Qingyu’s fans:

”Oh my, is our little brother this fierce?”

”I never thought this gamble thing would happen to our little brother, and the key is that he actually won.”

”Oh my, oh my, can our little brother walk sideways in the circle from now on?”

The news of Lu Qingyu’s successful gamble caused an uproar in the industry.

After losing the gamble, Meng Wei was still thinking of ways to salvage the situation. He couldn’t give up Xiangwan Entertainment; it was the asset he had spent his whole life building, and he couldn’t just lose it like that.

This behavior of Meng Wei also infuriated the board members of Xiangwan Entertainment. Meng Wei was a loser; in the 20-plus years of Xiangwan Entertainment’s history, they had engaged in gambles more than 10 times and had never lost.

Not only did he lose, but he also dragged his wife’s capital into it.

If it had only been Meng Wei’s assets involved earlier, the company’s shareholders would have had a vote on who the actual leader of Xiangwan Entertainment was. Now, Meng Wei’s shares combined with his wife’s shares meant that Lu Qingyu’s assets alone accounted for more than half of the company, making him the absolute controlling shareholder.

Even if other board members disagreed, they couldn’t stop Lu Qingyu from becoming the supreme leader.

Meng Wei had no choice; he was truly at the end of his rope. There was one more shameless method that might be humiliating, but Meng Wei decided to give it a desperate try.

The Hehuan Film Festival, one of the most grand film festivals in the Dragon Kingdom, held significant weight in the film industry. This film festival was jointly organized by three major video platforms. Lu Qingyu had been shortlisted for eight nominations, including Best Film and Best Actor, for Wolf Warrior.

The banquet was at 8:00 PM, with stars from all walks of life gathering, and investors, directors, and other big shots from various fields were also invited.

Lu Qingyu brought the lead actors of the Wolf Warrior team to attend the film festival.

At 6:00 PM, stars began walking the red carpet to enter the venue. Lu Qingyu and his team were scheduled to enter at 6:50. They arrived at the venue at 6:30 and sat in the van.

Besides the Wolf Warrior team, Wang Ning and Chen Ting were also invited, though their entry times were different. Wang Ning didn’t need to walk the red carpet; he was attending as an investor.

In the van, the female lead of Wolf Warrior, Wu Yao, was very nervous. This was her first time attending a film festival.

Before filming Wolf Warrior, she was just an 18th-tier bit-part actress in the circle. When she went out to audition for Wolf Warrior, she never thought she would be selected.

When she learned she had been chosen as the female lead, Wu Yao was so happy she almost went crazy. Later, the movie became a massive hit, and she leaped from 18th-tier to 2nd-tier overnight.

She was especially grateful to Lu Qingyu. If it weren’t for Lu Qingyu, she might never have been able to make it in this industry in her entire life.

However, Wu Yao was used to the bitter life she had before, and suddenly receiving such overwhelming fortune made her a bit uncomfortable.

She hadn’t been qualified to attend occasions like the Hehuan Film Festival before. She was flattered to receive an invitation this time, but because she had no team and no experience, her clothes and styling were prepared by Lu Qingyu’s team.

The dress she wore today was the most expensive and beautiful one she had ever worn in her life; it was an haute couture piece that Lu Jia had lent her out of respect for Lu Qingyu.

As for the outfit Lu Qingyu was wearing today, Wu Yao didn’t even dare to touch it. When she was changing, she heard Lu Qingyu’s stylist say that this outfit was brought back from France, and Mr. Louis had instructed the designers to specially craft it according to Lu Qingyu’s measurements. It was an autumn/winter haute couture piece valued at 28 million.

The designer had specifically catered to Lu Qingyu, using emerald egg-shaped buttons for the clothes, in an emerald green color, with a row of eight buttons, each worth 1 million.

The van was already close to the red carpet side. After the two artists in front finished walking, it would be their turn. They would have to get off the car in about three minutes.

Wu Yao was getting more and more nervous, while Lu Qingyu was writing a thesis at this moment.

He was about to go abroad for school soon. He had received his course schedule and graduation requirements in advance, and publishing a thesis could help him earn high credits.

Wu Yao admired Lu Qingyu so much when she saw him like this.

”Little brother, it’s time to get off the car.”

Hearing Wu Yao’s voice, Lu Qingyu closed his laptop. The van had already stopped in front of the red carpet.

Su Jixing got off from the front row first, then opened the car door.

The moment Lu Qingyu’s figure emerged from the car, countless spotlights shone on him, and the fans cheering in the distance also screamed.

There was a live broadcast on the red carpet side, and there were many reporters. The 100-meter red carpet took about 5 minutes to walk.

The Host was waiting at the end of the red carpet for Lu Qingyu to come and sign his name. Lu Qingyu and Wu Yao walked over to sign their names, then took the microphone handed to them by the Host to prepare for an interview.

Who would have thought that just as the Host finished asking a question, before Lu Qingyu could even answer, Meng Wei suddenly popped out.

And Meng Wei’s next move left everyone at the scene stunned.

Meng Wei rushed directly in front of Lu Qingyu and knelt down.

The crowd didn’t know what had happened. The reporters taking photos on the periphery also saw this situation for the first time. It looked like there was big gossip, so they turned their cameras and started filming frantically.

And at this moment, the live broadcast room was still filming normally.

”Holy crap, what is this situation? Why did he kneel down?”

”Is this guy crazy? Where is the security at the scene? How is the security measure done like this?”

”Eh? Isn’t this the General Manager of Xiangwan Entertainment? Why is he here?”

The Host was also dumbfounded. He recognized that this person was Meng Wei, the person in charge of Xiangwan Entertainment, because every year when there was an event like this film festival, he was a very important VIP guest and a big shot who couldn’t be offended. If he called security, would he still want his job?
