Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

117: troublemakerAfter Wang Simiao stepped down, the second singer took the stage to perform.

The second singer’s performance was also quite good. Once he finished singing and the judges gave their evaluations, the Host called on Lu Qingyu again.

”Teacher Lu, what did you think of his performance?”

Everyone’s eyes focused on Lu Qingyu once more, only for him to give the exact same evaluation as the previous round.

”Very good.”

Audience: That’s it?

Host: This evaluation is way too perfunctory!

”Besides ’very good,’ is there anything else?”

The Host hoped Lu Qingyu would say more, even if it was to point out the guest’s flaws.

Seeing the Host’s question and meeting his expectations, Lu Qingyu picked up the microphone again.

”Pleasant to the ears!”

Still just two words. The last time the Host felt this awkward was during a commercial performance when he asked the elderly audience members if they liked the rapper on stage.

Actually, there was nothing wrong with Lu Qingyu’s comments. He was here today as part of the Investor Representative Group, not as a formal judge.

Furthermore, judges receive an appearance fee, whereas the Investor Representative Group not only receives nothing but also contributed 5 million in investment.

His purpose for coming to this show was twofold: first, to represent his company, and second, to increase his own visibility.

Since he wasn’t a judge and wasn’t being paid for it, he could naturally say whatever he wanted.

However, Lu Qingyu’s behavior led many viewers and singers to believe he lacked musical appreciation skills and simply couldn’t offer any real critique.

[LMAO, this evaluation is so low-level.]

[Lu Qingyu really doesn’t know how to give a critique at all.]

[I feel like he’s just slacking off. Can he even record the show properly?]

[Those of you bashing our little brother, please be careful. Look closely, he is not a judge.]

Several more singers took the stage afterward. Each time the judges finished their comments and the Host asked Lu Qingqingyu, Lu Qingyu would simply toss out two words.

”Very good.”

Moreover, Lu Qingyu gave 5 votes to the singer in every round. Everyone could see that Lu Qingyu was just here to slack off.

Wang Tong was the sixth to perform. The piece he performed today wasn’t his own work, but a highly difficult English song.

The song featured high notes reaching C4 and numerous vocal runs, which greatly tested a singer’s control.

Under full open-mic conditions, Wang Tong performed exceptionally well.

He had been full of confidence from the moment he stepped onto the stage, and when he hit the high notes, the audience erupted in thunderous applause and cheers.

Watching the crowd’s reaction, Wang Tong gave a wicked smirk. He knew he would definitely make everyone see him in a new light and leave them astonished.

After delivering a 15-second-long high note, Wang Tong confidently believed that no one would achieve a better score than him.

The other singers backstage couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration as they watched Wang Tong’s performance.

[Brother Tong’s performance is amazing!]

[Brother Tong is a buried talent. He’s been debuted for nine years, and among the singers who debuted with him, very few have better skills than Brother Wang Tong.]

[Brother Tong has this in the bag; he’s definitely getting first place.]

The judges below the stage couldn’t help but nod at Wang Tong’s performance.

One of the judges, Teacher Song Yan, couldn’t help but whisper to the person next to him.

”This kid is really good; his foundation is quite solid.”

After Wang Tong finished his performance, it was time for the judges to score him.

Two of the four judges gave Wang Tong a perfect score, while the other two gave him a 9.

The Investor Representative Group had a total of 30 points, and Wang Tong received 37 points.

Everyone gasped at the result. As expected, Wang Tong currently had the highest score of the night.

Judge Song Yan picked up the microphone and said to Wang Tong:

”Wang Tong, you completed this song exceptionally well. Your handling of details, the high notes, and the vocal runs were all quite precise. I’m giving you a perfect score.”

Wang Tong respectfully thanked Teacher Song Yan.

Another judge, Teacher Zhang Zhong, also commented:

”Wang Tong, I gave you a 9. Your performance is indeed the most impressive one I’ve seen since the start, but I feel there’s still room for improvement.”

Teacher Zhang Zhong had always been strict and had never given a student a perfect score. A 9 was already the highest grade possible from him, so Wang Tong was very satisfied with this result.

The other two judges also spoke, expressing their liking and praise for Wang Tong.

The audience could feel the judges’ recognition of Wang Tong.

After all four judges had finished speaking, the Host said a few words and intended to let Wang Tong step down. Originally, the Host wanted to ask Lu Qingyu, but because of Lu Qingyu’s perfunctory performance in the previous rounds, the Host understood that this little brother was truly just here to listen to music and watch the show, so he had no intention of asking him.

Just because the Host didn’t ask didn’t mean Wang Tong would let it go.

Wang Tong had already prepared a script in his mind before coming up, and he had even thought of today’s hot search topics.

#What a Truly Talented Singer Is!#

The Host signaled that Wang Tong could leave the stage, but Wang Tong suddenly picked up the microphone and said:

”Please wait a moment. I am very interested in Teacher Lu Qingyu’s opinion. I would like to hear what Teacher Lu Qingyu’s evaluation of my song is.”

When Wang Tong proactively mentioned Lu Qingyu, the Host didn’t initially realize that Wang Tong’s tone didn’t sound at all like he was seeking advice humbly. Thus, the Host cooperatively said to Lu Qingyu:

”Since Wang Tong wants to hear Teacher Lu’s thoughts, then Teacher Lu, please give us a few words of critique.”

Hearing his name called, Lu Qingyu lazily picked up the microphone and, to no one’s surprise, uttered the words ”Quite good.”

The audience seemed used to it and even burst into laughter.

But Wang Tong did not stop there. The question that followed silenced the entire audience.

”Is Teacher Lu’s ability to appreciate music limited to just the words ’quite good’? I’m curious, can Teacher Lu even understand this song? From the first guest’s appearance until now, all of Teacher Lu’s evaluations have been just ’quite good.’ As a professional singer, does Teacher Lu even know what style this song of mine is?”

This triple-threat of questions caused the audience and the Host to fall into a sudden silence.

Especially the last question, which was somewhat insulting—what style was the song? If Lu Qingyu couldn’t even tell what style he was singing, he truly would be a musical idiot.

With such a targeted tone, anyone who couldn’t tell that Wang Tong was looking for trouble would be a fool.

Lu Qingyu looked speechless. How did he end up running into a troublemaker when he just came here to be an audience member and listen to some songs?
