Entertainment: Wanted to Acquire the Company on the First Day of Signing

121: Overtime ChallengeZhang Xinyu was very flustered when he returned backstage.

The events of this evening were both intense and twisted; he had been on the verge of elimination, only to be saved by Lu Qingyu.

Then, the other singers on stage were unconvinced by him, and a challenge match was added to the competition!

It was one thing for Qi Mingze, who was only one vote behind him, to challenge him, but even Wang Tong, who ranked first in the total score, had challenged him too.

For the first time, Zhang Xinyu felt the cutthroat nature of the entertainment industry.

Wang Tong and Qi Mingze were already preparing new songs. The song he had sung today was chosen by the company’s instructors, and now that he suddenly had to sing another one, he didn’t quite know what to perform.

He did not want to disappoint the company’s efforts in nurturing him; he had to beat Qi Mingze.

Just as he was struggling with this, there was a knock on the lounge door, and the person who entered was someone Zhang Xinyu had never expected to see.

That’s right, Lu Qingyu had come specifically to help Zhang Xinyu.

Zhang Xinyu looked at Lu Qingyu in surprise.

”Teacher Lu, why are you here?”

Lu Qingyu smiled and replied:

”To help you out.”

Zhang Xinyu represented Qingcheng Entertainment. By doing this today, Wang Tong was clearly slapping Qingcheng Entertainment in the face. As the boss, how could Lu Qingyu just sit by and watch such a thing happen?

He had to teach Wang Tong a lesson today. In this competition, he not only wanted Zhang Xinyu to eliminate Qi Mingze, but also to eliminate Wang Tong along with him.

”Have you chosen what song to sing?”

Zhang Xinyu thought Lu Qingyu had come to check on his progress, so he shook his head.

”Not yet, I’m still choosing.”

”There are two songs I want to sing, but I don’t know which one to choose.”

While speaking, Zhang Xinyu turned up the volume on his phone and played the two songs he usually liked the most for Lu Qingyu to hear.

After listening to each song for about fifteen or sixteen seconds, Lu Qingyu shook his head.

”These two songs fit you better than the one you sang on stage earlier, but if you want to beat Wang Tong with them, it’s unlikely.”

Zhang Xinyu stood there at a loss. Lu Qingyu stood in place, thinking for two seconds, then opened the memo app on his tablet and typed quickly.

Zhang Xinyu watched Lu Qingyu’s fingers tapping away on the screen, not knowing what he was doing.

Curious, he leaned over to take a look and realized it was actually a song.

In less than two minutes, Lu Qingyu had finished writing the entire song ”Riding the White Horse”.

”Familiarize yourself with the lyrics first. Give me 10 minutes to produce the accompaniment. You’ll be singing this on stage today.”

There was only an hour in total, and he wanted to finish the arrangement as quickly as possible so that Zhang Xinyu would have more time to practice. Therefore, after saying this, he ignored Zhang Xinyu and turned to sit in front of the music production equipment to start arranging.

Thus, he completely failed to notice how shocked Zhang Xinyu was at that moment.

Oh my god, this little brother is just too amazing!

The saying ”hard work is worthless in the face of talent” suddenly had a concrete manifestation.

There was a reason why this little brother could become so popular and be his boss.

How could he be so outstanding!

Zhang Xinyu was very moved at this moment. For him, Lu Qingyu’s help was more than just offering timely help in a crisis; he must work even harder to repay the company and Lu Qingyu.

Lu Qingyu arranged the music very quickly, and after finishing the accompaniment, he began to coach Zhang Xinyu on how to sing it.

On Wang Tong’s side, he had moved up the song he was preparing for the next round to this one.

Both the difficulty and popularity of this song were greater than the one he had sung today. He simply didn’t want to compromise with capital, and no matter what, he had to teach capital a lesson today.

Qi Mingze was also working very hard to prepare the song he was going to sing.

During the one-hour break, the director kept a close eye on the live broadcast room. During this time, the number of viewers in the live broadcast room not only did not decrease because of the program’s intermission, but instead grew larger and larger.

Because the show’s popularity surged, it also sparked many related topics, especially those related to Lu Qingyu, with four or five already on the hot search topics page.

The director rubbed his hands excitedly off-stage. Previously, when the investor and guest confirmed Lu Qingyu, the director hadn’t felt much about it.

It was the Staff Member beside him who reminded him whether they should single out Lu Qingyu for promotion. The director had thought it was a bit exaggerated, but now it seemed that decision was correct.

This little brother’s ability to generate hot search topics is a bit strong!

An hour passed quickly. With three minutes left on the countdown, Lu Qingyu returned to his seat from backstage.

Time was up, and the overtime challenge officially began!

The Host came on stage and announced that the first person to perform was Qi Mingze; Zhang Xinyu, as the one being challenged, would be the last to appear.

In this challenge match, only 4 judges had the right to score, with each judge holding 10 points, for a total of 40 points.

Qi Mingze and Wang Tong smiled confidently when they heard this news.

This was great; without the interference of those unprofessional people, they believed they would definitely receive fair treatment.

The music started on stage, and Qi Mingze began to sing.

Perhaps the tense environment stimulated Qi Mingze’s potential; the song he sang this time was better than the previous one in terms of emotion, technique, and difficulty.

The four judges nodded as they listened. If Qi Mingze had sung this song just now, perhaps he would have secured a win against Zhang Xinyu.

It wasn’t just the four judges who had this thought; the audience felt the same way.

Especially Qi Mingze’s fans, who were cheering him on from the audience.

Qi Mingze was drenched in sweat after singing the song. When the song ended, looking at the audience’s reaction, he felt like he had a good chance of beating Zhang Xinyu.

The four judges gave Qi Mingze their scores, and in the end, Qi Mingze’s score was 31 points.

In the previous round, the four judges had given him a total of 27 points. This time, he had gained 4 more points, and Qi Mingze was very satisfied.

【It looks like Wang Tong isn’t needed; Qi Mingze can eliminate Zhang Xinyu all by himself.】

【Qi Mingze has been making music for so many years; he has potential.】

【Looking at it this way, it would indeed be a pity if Qi Mingze had been eliminated by Zhang Xinyu in the last round.】

【Zhang Xinyu is not as good as Qi Mingze.】

After Qi Mingze left the stage, Wang Tong stepped up.

Wang Tong’s ability was even higher than Qi Mingze’s. For him, winning against Zhang Xinyu in this performance was secondary; he wanted to let everyone feel his unyielding soul.

He wanted to conquer everyone with his performance.

The accompaniment slowly began to play, and Wang Tong started his performance.

Compared to the last round, he was more uninhibited this time, and even added more interaction with the audience.

Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought this was his own concert.

Wang Tong was bursting with self-confidence at this moment. He felt that standing on the stage, he was the king, and no one could defeat him.

The other singers watching the performance from backstage saw Wang Tong’s performance and cast a look of pity at Zhang Xinyu.

”He’s quite calm. If it were me, I would have just conceded.”

”Perhaps it’s because he already knows the result, so he isn’t afraid.”

”I think so too. This challenge match has absolutely no suspense at all.”
