Chapter 885: Chapter 15: Speed

A faint red aura enveloped Kamikaze Hoori, and not only that, it was also slowly eroding her.

Kamikaze Hoori raised her arm, and streaks of red marks appeared on her originally smooth arm. These red marks were not obvious; though somewhat similar to magical lines, they were unrelated to magic.

”The rate of stamina depletion has increased, my resilience has weakened, and my mind will be intermittently disturbed.”

Kamikaze Hoori took a deep breath and attempted to dispel the faint red aura on her body using her special mana, but releasing breath is an aura-type passive. Once it is judged successful, it remains effective unless Kamikaze Hoori distances herself 30 meters from Su Xiao, where the negative effect will dissipate.

Of course, this is not the only way to dispel the release of breath; mind purification skills can also do it, but given Kamikaze Hoori’s combat style, it is unlikely she has such abilities.

As the release of breath interfered with Kamikaze Hoori, Su Xiao would not stand idly by as she explored ways to dispel it. Instead, after confirming her information and state, Su Xiao slowly approached Kamikaze Hoori.

Facing an opponent like Kamikaze Hoori, Su Xiao chose to fully unleash his attack abilities. Being skilled with the blade himself, he knew that when facing an enemy adept with the blade, any mistake could trigger a chain reaction and result in death. Focusing on defense would only put him in a passive state.

A counter shield appeared around Su Xiao. This time, instead of a hexagon, it formed energy short knives each twenty centimeters long. These short knives lacked hilts and guards, containing only blades. This was the attacking form of the counter shield: the energy blade form.

A total of 56 energy blades hovered beside Su Xiao. These energy blades had a limited attack range, extending about 1.5 meters from Su Xiao as the center, with weak defensive power, average slicing power, but excellent penetration.

Though the attack distance was not far, in critical moments, Su Xiao could expend mana to shoot the energy blades out unexpectedly, though the drawback was high mana consumption.

Against a foe like Kamikaze Hoori, pure defense was unwise. If she used Only Flash, even a counter shield in defending form could be breached with one strike.

As Su Xiao slowly approached Kamikaze Hoori, she gradually lowered her body, holding her knife with both hands.

Boom!

Su Xiao and Kamikaze Hoori disappeared at the same time, reappearing less than half a meter apart, so close he could hear her breathing.

Ding.

Sparks flew as two long knives clashed, their eyes meeting.

Buzz～

A metallic thread emitting a blue glow twisted towards Kamikaze Hoori. Surprised, she didn’t expect her enemy’s combat style to be so similar to her own.

Unfazed by this attack, Kamikaze Hoori knew exactly how to handle it.

Tilting her body sideways, she bent her knee, thrusting it towards Su Xiao’s side waist – this girl bore grudges.

With Kamikaze Hoori’s physical strength, if this knee strike landed accurately, it wouldn’t break Su Xiao’s ribs, but it would cause him to have trouble breathing temporarily.

But given Su Xiao’s extensive combat experience, as he blocked Kamikaze Hoori’s long knife, he similarly bent his knee, letting his shinbone meet Kamikaze Hoori’s knee.

Bam!

A powerful force hit Su Xiao’s shinbone, causing him to retreat two steps. As he did, ten energy blades beside him shot towards Kamikaze Hoori.

As Su Xiao steadied himself, Kamikaze Hoori had already disappeared in front, with the energy blades missing their target. The Boundary Line failed to ensnare Kamikaze Hoori, as her speed was too fast.

A piercing sound rushed from behind Su Xiao, causing him to lean forward immediately.

Ting!

A bright long knife slashed close across Su Xiao’s back, even slicing through some strands of his black hair.

Kamikaze Hoori’s slash missed, but the horizontal slash changed into a downward cut during the attack.

However, before Kamikaze Hoori could slash, a centipede with an entirely white body coiled around her lower leg.

Boom.

An explosion echoed through the streets, with flames wrapping around Kamikaze Hoori.

Before the flames dissipated, Kamikaze Hoori walked out from them, visible wounds on her lower leg. The explosion’s flames couldn’t harm her; she was just affected by the impact of the explosion.

Kamikaze Hoori forgot one thing: although her physical quality was strong, her clothes could not withstand an explosion. Standing before the blazing flames almost naked, her cowboy pants had been blown into a super short denim skirt, and her upper-body white t-shirt was in tatters, exposing parts during the fight. Infront of Su Xiao, she was already unwittingly displaying a lot.

Despite her shameful attire, Kamikaze Hoori didn’t mind, though the chill all over her body made her want to change her clothes.

Su Xiao looked Kamikaze Hoori up and down, not admiring her figure, but checking for wounds.

Click, click.

Flashes appeared near the battlefield, resembling a camera’s flashes.

Bu Bu Wang, hidden behind a garbage bin, was grasping a DSLR camera with its front paws, clicking the shutter occasionally. What was worse, it also changed the shooting angle from time to time—an authentic paparazzi.

Kamikaze Hoori stiffly turned her head, uncertain of her expression when seeing the ’canine creature’ holding the camera.

Su Xiao tugged with his left arm, and the boundary line scattered around tightened, binding Kamikaze Hoori’s right arm.

Realizing the situation, Kamikaze Hoori immediately raised her right arm, scanning it for something. Within less than a second, she found the hook lock at the tip of the Boundary Line. With a flick of Seven Sword Seven Flash’s blade tip, she unhooked the lock, leaving streaks of blood on her arm before the Boundary Line released her.

Witnessing this, Su Xiao opted to retract the Boundary Line. Kamikaze Hoori understood this type of attack very well, and as soon as she was bound, she searched for the hook lock at the tip. Once unhooked, the Boundary Line simply couldn’t bind her.

Bu Bu Wang noticed the enemy was unscathed too. Casually discarding the camera into the garbage bin, it had only taken those embarrassing photos to distract the enemy, creating an opportunity for Su Xiao.

On the battlefield, knife gleams flickered in the night as Su Xiao and Kamikaze Hoori vanished from their spots. Following a few sharp sounds of blades crossing, both reappeared.

On the nearby road, slash marks appeared. After preliminary testing, the two were engaged in close combat, blades clashing numerous times in a short span. The exterior wall of a nearby shopping mall bore crisscrossed slash marks from Blade Auras.

These were Blade Auras slashed out by Su Xiao, using them to reduce Kamikaze Hoori’s moving speed. She was exceptionally fast; occasionally, when Kamikaze Hoori accelerated unexpectedly, even Su Xiao’s dynamic vision and nerve reflex speed struggled to keep up.

Kamikaze Hoori’s 83 points of Agility Attribute were no joke. After the two completed their warm-up, the battle turned lethal, each aiming to strike vital spots.

Slash.

A flash of the blade left a cut on Su Xiao’s shoulder, splattering blood on his cheek — he had been struck by Kamikaze Hoori. Fortunately, the wound was not deep.
