Chapter 882: Chapter 12: Little Brother Kamijou

Certainly, here is the translation of the given text:

Ten minutes ago.

The Seventh School District, near the student dormitories, on a shopping street.

The street at night was exceptionally quiet, however, the crossroad, which was dozens of meters wide, was empty, making it seem somewhat abnormal.

In this abnormal scene, a black-haired, spiky-haired youth walked down the street, medium height, white shirt, black pants, his expression slightly weary.

”Ah~ I’ve encountered many strange things recently, so unlucky.”

Unluckiness seemed to have become a regular occurrence for this youth, his misfortune could no longer be explained by science, with a single outing he might accumulate the following battle results: stepping in dog poop × 3, being mugged × 1, car accident × 1, narrowly escaping being hit by a falling flower pot from above × 2, losing money while buying goods × 4.

These things, which ordinary people rarely encounter, were just everyday occurrences for the youth. Because of this, he had honed an extraordinary sense of crisis awareness, for instance: not walking next to tall buildings, avoiding deserted alleys, watching his steps, absolutely not running red lights; should he accidentally run a red light, the car accident rate would be more than 98%.

The youth’s name was Touma Kamijou, a boy with extremely unlucky luck and overflowing romantic luck.

From a young age, Touma Kamijou’s 138 hospitalizations told him the world is a dangerous place, at least to him it was full of malice. Nevertheless, Touma Kamijou still loved life, willing to help others, often referring to himself as a ’hypocrite,’ but in reality, he was a hot-blooded, kind-hearted youth.

The quiet of the streets caught Touma Kamijou’s attention, this quiet was too unnatural, his first thought was, could there be some major natural disaster about to happen? And he just didn’t receive a warning? Don’t think this is ridiculous, for Little Brother Kamijou, this is normal, it’s part of his ’peaceful’ life.

”Completely... no one?”

Little Brother Kamijou panicked; not only was there no one around on the street, but even the shops and malls near the crossroad had no sound of people, the more important thing was, the lights in the mall not far away were still on, indicating there had been people there not long ago, but suddenly evacuated.

”This is not good.”

Little Brother Kamijou’s sphincter tightened, his face began to turn pale.

Tap, tap. Tap...

In the silent street, the sudden sound of footsteps was especially clear.

”It’s just a rune to make idlers avoid us.”

A female voice came, Touma Kamijou instinctively turned his head to look, he saw a tall, single-braided woman holding a sheathed long sword, the length of the sword in the woman’s hand was at least one and a half meters, more peculiar was the woman’s clothing.

Cowboy pants + white t-shirt, an ordinary two-piece combo on this woman had an intriguing new way of opening, the left leg of the cowboy pants was completely torn off, exposing long and slender white thighs, only a short piece remaining, almost revealing her undergarment, the white t-shirt was knotted up, exposing her bare abdomen and lower back.

From clothing, figure, and build, this was a well-proportioned woman aged over 20, however, she was actually only 18, named Kanami Hozuki, an important combat strength of the Magic Side, known as ’Saint,’ so-called ’Saint’ being humans who can use parts of ’Divine child’ power.

According to most ’Saints’ abilities statistics, so-called ’Saints’ are magic-users with extremely strong physical qualities, a magician fights using spells, whereas Saints use magic as support with physical power as their primary combat method.

As for Kanami Hozuki, she fought using sword technique, the long sword ’Seven Sword Seven Flash’ in her hand being her primary combat measure.

”You are...”

Touma Kamijou sensed something was wrong, hearing the keyword ’rune,’ he associated it with the magician he faced last night, this woman might be a companion or a similar type.

The fact proves that Touma Kamijou living under extreme circumstances has a strong sense of crisis.

”I am Kanami Hozuki, I don’t want to say another name unless necessary.”

Hearing this clearly warning tone, Touma Kamijou’s body tensed up, preparing for battle, seemingly having just defeated a magician yesterday made Little Brother Kamijou a bit full of himself.

”To be frank, I hope to take the child back for protection before revealing my magic name, as for who the child is, you should be aware.”

”What if I refuse?”

”I’m sorry.”

After speaking, Kanami Hozuki motioned to draw her sword.

With a swish, sharp light flashed, Touma Kamijou felt a blur before his eyes, a half-meter-thick iron pillar beside him was severed.

Seeing this scene, although Touma Kamijou felt chilled in his heart, he still charged forward, his only combat strength being ’Illusion Killer,’ even though his opponent was strong, he would not hand over the girl, specifically Indexa, these people might have malicious intentions,

A few minutes later, the previously full of war intent Little Brother Kamijou lay on the ground, with more than a dozen not-too-deep wounds on his right arm, while Kanami Hozuki was standing with one foot on Kamijou’s chest, her expression icy, the difference in strength was overwhelming.

”Why don’t you kill me, if you wanted, I should’ve been dead many times, since you hesitated when you made a move, it indicates you still have a conscience, then you should understand, chasing a girl down with a group and slashing at her with a knife from behind, such actions can never be forgiven, so I won’t hand her over.”

Unable to win, Touma Kamijou resorted to using his words.

Actually, Touma Kamijou misunderstood, Kanami Hozuki wasn’t pursuing Indexa to kill her, but to ’protect’ her, this involved a clumsy lie and Indexa’s identity.

Indexa: A nun affiliated with the English Puritanism, grew up since childhood in the England St. George’s Holy Hall, currently 14 years old, possessing complete memory ability; she was entrusted with a heavy mission due to her brain’s ability to store content from one hundred and thirty thousand Magic Books.

For such an important person, the English Puritanism of course tightly controls her, thus fabricating a lie, claiming Indexa’s brain capacity was limited, after storing one hundred and thirty thousand Magic Book contents, the remaining space was limited, requiring her memory to be cleared once a year to prevent death from memory overflow; meaning, every year her memory would be cleared to the point of just memorizing the Magic Guidebook, this made controlling easier.

Of course, brain capacity limitations could only fool dummies, amazingly, someone truly believed it and deeply believed it, in grueling efforts to ’protect’ Indexa’s safety, treating Indexa like family, they endured being forgotten by her once each year, Kanami Hozuki was one among them.

The current situation was that Indexa had escaped, Kanami Hozuki and Stiyl Magnus were in pursuit, Stiyl Magnus was the bitter magician educated by Little Brother Kamijou.

The clearing memory time limit was near, the two needed to quickly find Indexa and save her, that is to help her clear her past year’s memory.

As for Indexa being slashed, the blame should be on Touma Kamijou; his right hand ability led to Indexa’s protective clothing ’Moving Church’ being damaged, Kanami Hozuki believed she wouldn’t hurt Indexa, hence the slashing.

Thus, Kanami Hozuki who wanted to protect Indexa, and Little Brother Kamijou who also wanted to protect Indexa, clashed.

”Do you think I want to do this! What do you know, how much do you understand about Indexa!”

The previously icy-faced Kanami Hozuki suddenly lost her composure, the guilt of personally having slashed Indexa, and the year limit about to be reached, made her unable to remain calm.
