Chapter 875: Chapter 5: Ineffectiveness and Restraint

To the naked eye, Juanki Most-Loved indeed showed no changes, but upon closer inspection, one could see she was standing in the air, about ten centimeters off the ground.

She wasn’t floating in thin air; instead, a ten-centimeter layer of nitrogen enveloped her, forming an invisible armor.

”I’m going,”

Juanki Most-Loved hunched her body; her strength and agility weren’t particularly high, yet with the nitrogen armor encasing her, her destructive power was formidable. She wasn’t driving the armor with her body, but rather using superpowers to maneuver the nitrogen armor.

In other words, when Juanki Most-Loved used her superpowers, her attack power and speed had nothing to do with her physical attributes. They were determined by the strength of her superpowers. Essentially, the nitrogen armor was dragging Juanki Most-Loved into battle, with her attack instructions controlled by her brain rather than her body.

When Su Xiao saw Juanki Most-Loved standing in the air, he immediately sensed something off. He had been waiting for ages, with no news, which made him impatient, especially since the enemy wouldn’t wait for him.

Instead of waiting for the enemy to attack, Su Xiao chose to take the initiative.

Boom!

Asphalt debris splattered from under Su Xiao’s feet; he vanished from his original spot, aiming directly at Maiye Shenli. It wasn’t wise to engage directly with Juanki Most-Loved, who had clearly used a big move, especially since Maiye Shenli posed a greater threat with stronger attack power.

As Su Xiao vanished, green barriers appeared around Maiye Shenli, shielding her.

The previous strike had left a deep impression on Maiye Shenli, though the opponent abandoned the cleave just before it hit her, indicating they didn’t want their weapon to touch her Atomic Breakdown.

The enemy’s strength, speed, and even aura were terrifying. Maiye Shenli had never encountered such a superpower user, and, more crucially, the enemy was elusive.

While Maiye Shenli was pondering her strategy, the sound of rushing wind assailed her.

”Here it comes!”

Several green spheres immediately appeared next to Maiye Shenli.

The rushing wind approached, and a long knife wrapped with over a dozen hexagonal energy shields slashed at her.

Zzzap～

The long knife, wrapped in numerous energy shields, cut into the green barrier. The barrier emitted high temperatures, and the energy shields were quickly broken down. These green barriers differed from beam cannons, possessing stronger corrosive and decomposition properties; even bullets would be melted into molten iron and decomposed in an instant.

The dozen or so energy shields were completely fragmented by the green barrier. Fortunately, Dragon Slash already successfully penetrated it, yet Su Xiao, holding the long knife, felt immense resistance, more precisely, a suction. The green barrier wasn’t as fragile as it seemed and contained an electronic field within it.

Su Xiao wasn’t surprised that Maiye Shenli could control an electronic force field. Like the third-ranked Railgun, she belonged to the electronic control type, though in a different branch.

Under the powerful electronic field, Dragon Slash felt exceptionally heavy, with a downward suction. If Su Xiao’s strength weren’t sufficient, Dragon Slash would have slipped from his grasp.

The muscles in Su Xiao’s right arm slightly bulged as he resisted the intense suction and slashed upwards.

Swish.

Blood splattered, and half an arm flew into the air, blood splattering across Maiye Shenli’s pale face.

Maiye Shenli’s expression twisted as she sensed an unknown energy invade her body. It felt like a current, yet lacked the properties of electricity.

A vague stabbing pain emanated internally; the ’current dissipated,’ causing her only mild discomfort.

”How dare you put such a vile thing inside me, damn it!”

The pain drove Maiye Shenli into a rage, while Juanki Most-Loved, rushing over, twitched at the corner of her mouth, feeling something amiss in that statement.

What had invaded Maiye Shenli’s body was Blue Steel Shadow energy. Normally, Maiye Shenli should have suffered severe True Damage.

However, there’s a prerequisite for Blue Steel Shadow causing True Damage: it must first annihilate the energy within the enemy.

Curiously, Maiye Shenli lacked inner energy; even her Mana Value was negligible. Her body had undergone numerous superpower developments, and though her intelligence attribute was high, it hadn’t evolved correspondent Mana Value, or rather, most superpower users lacked ample Mana Value, with no other energy in their bodies.

Superpower users employ their abilities by distorting their worldview in their intention, while using superpowers involves brain computation+minuscule stamina, not requiring Mana Value at all.

It seems that all growth in Mana Value among superpower users has been curtailed by some technique, developed by Aleister Crowley.

Having sliced off half of Maiye Shenli’s arm, Su Xiao immediately turned sideways.

Whoosh～

A beam cannon zipped past Su Xiao’s ear; he even felt its scorching heat.

”Die!”

Maiye Shenli roared, releasing over a dozen beam cannons at Su Xiao, who waved an arm, deploying all the counter shields in front of him.

He was puzzled, wondering why the Blue Steel Shadow energy’s invasion into the opponent’s body yielded such weak feedback, as if the Blue Steel Shadow couldn’t find a ’prey.’

Boom!

The beam cannon struck the counter shield, and as Su Xiao used the recoil to retreat, he utilized the Eye of the Apostle to scan Maiye Shenli’s attributes.

[Comparing both parties’ intelligence attributes... Comparison complete. Our intelligence is 0.98 times the enemy’s. Due to special intelligence attributes of the enemy, 100% of the opponent’s data was obtained.]

Data as follows:

Name: Maiye Shenli

Category: Human (Superpower developed 875 times)

Life Value: 86%

Mana Value: 0/50

Power: 6

Agility: 6

Stamina: 5

Mutated Intelligence: 80

Charm: 48

Skill 1: Atomic Breakdown (Passive/Active/Superpower LV.40): Electrons and light display both ’particle’ and ’waveform’ properties. Maiye Shenli can forcibly manipulate ’ambiguously situated electrons’ between them, leading to atomic breakdown, which is extremely difficult to balance (emitted not as radio waves or particles, but the electron itself).

Skill 2: Mutated Intelligence (Passive LV.36): Through repeated superpower development, a superpower user’s intelligence attribute mutates, no longer producing Mana Value, but rather generating a certain proportion of additional Life Value and powerful computational ability. Most High Level superpower users are akin to a walking computer.

Skill 3: Death Electron Cannon (Active LV.32): Capable of firing a ’Death Electron Cannon’ through Atomic Breakdown Ability. The Death Electron Cannon possesses extreme penetration and high temperatures, penetration 32, additional 350 high-risk damage, speed 29.

Skill 4: Electron Field Control (Active LV.20): Can manipulate electron fields, disrupt other forces, twist electricity, adsorb most metals, etc.

Skill 5: High-intensity Brain Resistance (Passive Lv.25): After multiple superpower modifications, immune to spiritual control skills released by attributes below 80 points, with a 30% reduction in duration for other control skills.

Skill 6: Death Electron Cannon Scattering (Passive Lv.32): Can scatter the Death Electron Cannon, requiring the consumption of ’Diffusion Support Semiconductor.’

Skill 7: Super Intensity Neural Reflex (Passive Lv.18): The brain undergoes benign evolution due to repeated superpower development, increasing nerve reflex speed by 17%.

Skill 8: Death Queen (Active Lv.6): Through consuming Body Crystal, resulting in superpower runaway, persistently releases the Death Electron Cannon 360 degrees, no dead angles on body parts, until stamina is exhausted, lasting for 20 seconds. After use, complete fatigue and coma, maximum Life Value reduces by 2% per use.

...

Seeing Maiye Shenli’s attributes, Su Xiao roughly understood the nature of superpower users. Their intelligence attribute mutates due to superpower transformations, with superpower usage based on stamina consumption + brain computation.

That 0/50 Mana Value indicates the Blue Steel Shadow had some effect, but the opponent’s Mana Value was too low, revealing a weakness of the Blue Steel Shadow: it lacks lethality when the enemy has no energy. True Damage doesn’t manifest from nowhere; it’s the annihilation reaction during energy destruction within the enemy, causing defenseless damage.

Though the Blue Steel Shadow ability was near ineffective, Su Xiao had another knack against superpower users: the Release of Breath. Its Passive Ability, when effective on the enemy, increases their stamina consumption by 27%. Superpower users consume stamina while using abilities.

Watching Maiye Shenli gasp for breath, Su Xiao knew the Release of Breath ability had taken effect.

Although Maiye Shenli boasted impressive combat strength, her power, agility, and stamina attributes were weak, so once her stamina ran out, well...
