Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 880: Chapter 10: Negotiation

In the center of The Seventh School District, there’s a building without windows. This building not only lacks windows, but also has no entrance at all. It’s completely sealed, officially named the ’General Governing Council Headquarters Building.’

This windowless building has a foundation extending 15 meters deep, with the surrounding three kilometers of underground also forming its base. Together with several deep underground pillars, this building is nearly impossible to topple or tilt.

The entire building is covered with ’Calculation Type·Impact Diffusion Compound Material’ armor plates. Don’t mention ordinary missiles, even a nuclear bomb wouldn’t destroy its protective layer.

Such a completely sealed and astonishingly sturdy building is the lair of the science side’s leader, Aleister Crowley. He won’t leave this place; to be precise, he doesn’t want to leave, as leaving here would have severe consequences.

Seeing such a sturdy building, Su Xiao’s first reaction was, just how afraid of death is Aleister Crowley? Could it be that after ’dying once,’ death instilled fear in him?

Indeed, Aleister Crowley ’died’ once, narrowly escaping death from people on the magic side.

Aleister Crowley, some have called him the greatest magician of the twentieth century, while others called him a scoundrel magician.

According to Su Xiao’s understanding, there are not many who kill their wives for enlightenment. Aleister is even more ruthless, sacrificing his own wife to summon a Guardian Angel, Eva. Even when his daughter dies, Aleister shows no reaction, even using children of his daughter’s age for experiments.

Eventually, Aleister stood at the pinnacle of magicians. For unknown reasons, he suddenly abandoned magic and began to study technology. It’s important to note that at the time, the science side’s technology was seen as heretical by the magic side, a foolish group attempting to challenge divinity. Aleister’s switch was almost equivalent to trampling on all magicians’ dignity and spitting as he left.

All the magicians were furious. The result was Aleister being ’killed’ by an English Puritan magician in a remote British town and buried in a desolate place. In fact, Aleister wasn’t completely dead at the time; he was merely buried alive.

A certain doctor dug Aleister out and, with exquisite medical skill, saved the nearly dying Aleister.

If it weren’t for that doctor, Aleister would have already decayed to dust, becoming nourishment for herbal plants.

The doctor created a life support device for Aleister, and to this day, Aleister remains inside the life support device that has undergone countless modifications.

It can be said that Aleister can no longer be considered human. His ability is unknown, his specific strength is unknown, his lifespan is unknown, his personality is unknown, and his ultimate purpose is suspected to be the destruction of magic.

Faced with someone whose most data is unknown and yet is likely extremely powerful, Su Xiao felt some trepidation. Although his strength had rapidly increased, he never thought of himself as invincible in the world.

Before reaching some consensus with Aleister, Su Xiao couldn’t peacefully execute the Tier 3 Promotion Task. Aleister is like a timed nuclear bomb, with the entire Academy City under his control.

Standing in front of the Windowless Building, Su Xiao contemplated his words for a moment. With such a non-human entity that has existed for an untold number of years and delegated all life activities to machines, lies clearly wouldn’t work.

”Ready for spatial movement.”

Yukidaseki Tanxi spoke beside him, noticeably nervous. To avoid accidents when bringing people into the building, she couldn’t only teleport the ’Guests’; she had to enter the building herself with the ’Guests,’ meaning Yukidaseki Tanxi would occasionally encounter Aleister.

”Mm.”

Su Xiao held Yukidaseki Tanxi’s shoulder with one hand.

”No need to hold me; I’ll accuse you of harassment.”

”This is my second time with spatial movement, not holding onto something makes me ’uneasy.’”

Su Xiao was obviously making excuses; he often used spatial movement, although frequently getting ’hit’ before, which gave him a nearly instinctual resistance to teleportation.

Space-time power started to fluctuate, and Su Xiao and Bubu Wang instinctively felt a chill at the back of their heads.

With a flicker of light and shadow, Su Xiao entered a dimly lit, vast room and instinctively touched the back of his head.

”Looks like I’m not the only one resistant to spatial movement.”

Yukidaseki Tanxi gasped heavily, past accidents having left a psychological shadow. After moving herself more than four times, she would feel nauseous, unable to hold back the urge to vomit.

”...”

Su Xiao said nothing, his gaze scanning the surroundings.

In the dimly lit, vast room, pipelines could be seen everywhere. The things inside this building were a complete set of large life support devices.

And in the center of the large room was a glass tank, three meters thick and over ten meters tall. The tank was filled with the solution needed for sustaining life, and a man with long white hair, green eyes, and skin as white as a child’s from being immersed in the solution long-term was suspended upside down in the solution.

Aleister, suspended upside down in the solution, was around two meters from the ground. Su Xiao and Aleister made eye contact.

”You seem to have sensed my presence.”

Aleister ’spoke,’ his voice sounding somewhat hollow. This wasn’t Aleister speaking himself, but rather the sound emitted by the life-support equipment in the large room. Even speaking, Aleister substitutes with machinery.

When investigating Aleister’s data, Su Xiao had come across this sentence: Aleister is like a man yet like a woman, like an adult yet like a child, like a Saint yet like a sinner.

After meeting in person, Su Xiao felt this description wasn’t quite accurate; Aleister was just a white-haired upside-down man, whose only distinctive feature was his long hair, which, if upright, would reach his ankles.

”I’ve heard so, but when I sensed those ’Jellyfish Monitors,’ I associated them with your surveillance methods. If someone else did that in Academy City, it would amount to directly provoking you.”

Su Xiao walked to the tall glass tank, beginning the negotiation.

”Is that so.”

A hollow voice followed, then the vast room plunged into silence, a deathlike silence.

Not far away, Yukidaseki Tanxi left using spatial ability. She was smart and judicious, knowing some things were better left unknown.

”Entering your domain without permission is discourteous, but I am merely here in search of something.”

Su Xiao broke the silence. Time didn’t hold much weight for Aleister, and dragging on was disadvantageous for Su Xiao.

”Searching for something?”

Aleister’s tone shifted slightly, though his facial expression remained unchanged.

”It’s a codex. I only know a few clues. Someone inside Academy City knows the whereabouts of that codex. Orders from my organization are to find it and obtain it. In a critical moment, destruction could be considered.”

It’s hard to fool Aleister with a straightforward lie, but mixing a few falsehoods into mostly truths reduces the chance of being exposed.
