Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 878: Chapter 8: Slippery

”Spatial abilities, difficult to handle.”

Various sizes of energy shields appeared beside Su Xiao. Their chaotic arrangement refracted the line of sight, though he had abilities to counter spatial types, the cooldown was too long, and he planned not to use it yet. In Academy City, spatial ability users were abundant.

”This guy...”

Shirai Kuroko was astonished; after just one clash, the opponent had already figured out a way to counter her ability. With her line of sight obstructed, calculating the enemy’s position became difficult. The semi-transparent energy panels refracted light, misleading her judgment on distance, a major problem that could cause her spatial movement to deviate, potentially leading to accidental enemy kills, such as teleporting a metal rod into the enemy’s brain.

Shirai Kuroko was actually overthinking it. If this weren’t the first time he’d encountered her ability, and with attack positions not being lethal, his instinct, sharper than any wild beast, would prevent her from harming Su Xiao, let alone causing accidental killing.

”Such combat experience, like a monster born for battle, won’t do. We need to get this child away; she’s seriously hurt.”

Shirai Kuroko glanced at Juanki Most-Loved in her arms, who was coughing up blood intermittently, looking as if she could die at any moment.

Bang!

A loud explosion sounded, with Su Xiao rushing straight at Shirai Kuroko. He didn’t know why she appeared, but compared to Juanki Most-Loved, Shirai Kuroko was a better bargaining chip for negotiations with a certain individual.

Upon hearing the explosion, Shirai Kuroko instinctively sensed trouble and immediately used her spatial ability to perform spatial teleportation. Her maximum distance per teleport was 80 meters, considering the weight she could carry was 130.7 kilograms. With her and Juanki Most-Loved’s physique, whether they combined weighed even 130 pounds was uncertain, especially 130.7 kilograms.

Shirai Kuroko’s teleportation not only had an 80-meter limit; each teleportation caused a brief pause, indicating she couldn’t completely shake off Su Xiao’s pursuit.

Shirai Kuroko continuously teleported with Juanki Most-Loved in her arms, while Su Xiao’s quick pace leaped between high-rise buildings.

However, Shirai Kuroko’s spatial movement ignored obstacles as she maintained a certain distance from Su Xiao, free from the influence of his Release of Breath, meaning she could teleport for a long time.

Academy City was filled with buildings, ideal for Shirai Kuroko’s teleportation. Upon noticing this, Su Xiao fanned out his perception, constantly locking onto the spatial fluctuations appearing ahead. Being frequently transported by Reincarnation Paradise, Su Xiao was very familiar with spatial fluctuations; compared to Reincarnation Paradise’s transportation method, Shirai Kuroko’s spatial ability was too immature.

The battle royale began, and no matter how many times Shirai Kuroko teleported, she couldn’t shake off Su Xiao.

”What kind of superpower is this, like a human radar, and what was with that previous phone call.”

Shirai Kuroko was now filled with confusion. She was previously shopping at a 24-hour unmanned vending mall, buying adult underwear when her phone rang. The caller was a woman, informing her that a murder was about to occur inside Academy City’s Seventh School District, including specifying the exact location.

Shirai Kuroko, as a Disciplinary Committee member, was tasked with managing campus security in the branch schools, often maintaining off-campus order, an act of overstepping authority, fortunately without anyone reporting her actions.

Initially, Shirai Kuroko thought it was an ill-intended prank by a classmate, considering that Level 4 Great Power Users often drew jealousy.

But after the caller sent her some photos, Shirai Kuroko knew this wasn’t a joke. The shattered buildings and the half-arm drenched in blood indicated the likelihood of truth in the caller’s words.

After much deliberation, Shirai Kuroko first alerted the police by calling security guards and immediately rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, the first thing Shirai Kuroko saw was a corpse, one with a slit throat. Despite being a Disciplinary Committee member and a middle school student, the sight made her stomach churn, the blood-covered ground continuously unsettling her nerves.

What followed was simple: Shirai Kuroko used her spatial ability to save Juanki Most-Loved and decisively started fleeing. Upon sensing Su Xiao’s aura, Shirai Kuroko knew fighting this man was impossible, neither in combat strength nor in attitude towards battle. They weren’t in the same league.

The opponent’s eyes were filled with murderous intent during combat; the objective was to kill the enemy, removing obstacles, unlike her usual life’s battles aimed only at subduing the enemy while avoiding harm, incapable of killing.

Shirai Kuroko’s greatest advantage was knowing whom she could fight and whom she couldn’t; the current enemy was clearly a warrior from the dark world or Anbu. Without harboring killing intent, fighting such an enemy was utterly ridiculous.

Since she couldn’t fight, running was the only option.

Slash.

The blade aura cut through, Shirai Kuroko vanished from the spot.

Su Xiao paused on a rooftop, stomping the ground beneath, scattering rubble. Shirai Kuroko was slicker than an eel.

”Girl, let’s talk, I guarantee... not to hurt you.”

Su Xiao’s face showed a grin, revealing stark white teeth. It was true he didn’t plan to kill Shirai Kuroko; killing Maiye Shenli wasn’t a problem—since she belonged to Anbu and actively approached him—killing ’under the sunlight’ Shirai Kuroko was another matter, almost equating to a direct provocation of someone.

”Hey, hey, smiling makes you look more like an evil man.”

Sweating on her forehead, Shirai Kuroko couldn’t help but retort while teleporting away.

”The truth is rarely believed, but lies are sometimes easily accepted.”

Su Xiao sat at the edge of the rooftop, exhaling a breath of green smoke, not continuing the pursuit. Seeing someone he was waiting for might arrive.

Whoosh~

Another girl appeared, and Su Xiao frowned. Why were all the ability users he encountered women?

It was a twin-tailed girl dressed skimpily, draped in a cowboy jacket, with bandages wrapped around her chest and a large portion of her abdomen exposed.

”Hello, I’m Yukidaseki Tanxi. I bear no hostility, just delivering a message.”

The girl, Yukidaseki Tanxi, was cold with sweat, which wasn’t from Su Xiao’s aura suppression. Like Shirai Kuroko, she was also a spatial ability user. During a spatial teleportation mishap, she buried one of her feet into a wall.

Parts of her body transported into the wall wasn’t as simple as being buried. Due to spatial compression, one foot had nearly melded into the concrete; in an instant, she fainted. After a series of rescues, her foot was saved, but since then, her own spatial movement induced intense anxiety and fear, recalling the sensation of bones, muscle, nerves, and cement grinding together, an agony worse than death.

Hearing Yukidaseki Tanxi’s words, Su Xiaoxin felt relieved, thinking he’d finally waited long enough. Without joining Scientific Side Forces, his operations within Academy City were extremely dangerous.
