Chapter 797: Chapter 28: Shameless!

Su Xiao pulled the lever, kaka, the gears inside the thrower rotated.

With a thud, the base at one corner of the thrower fell off, causing the whole thrower to tilt slightly.

Su Xiao was stunned, wondering why the lever pull, promised to launch, resulted in losing a corner instead. Unwilling to give up, he pulled the lever a few more times.

Thud, thud...

The bases at all four corners that were supposed to stabilize the thrower fell off. Su Xiao never expected that the most conspicuous lever was for disassembly, not activation.

Walking around the thrower a few times, it was evident that Su Xiao wasn’t adept with precision machinery. Setting traps was fine, but deciphering the thrower’s structure was a lost cause.

Having a thrower and Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles but unable to launch them was frustrating; his chance for significant merit points vanished because he couldn’t operate a thrower.

”Damn dwarf craftsmanship, why design it so complicated.”

Su Xiao kicked the thrower, leaving a dent in its metal shield.

”If I were you, I’d pull the cord under the thrower.”

A female voice came from about a dozen meters away under a tree.

”Who is it? Show yourself in ten seconds.”

Su Xiao wasn’t aware of the Night Elf Clan’s existence. Having newly arrived in this world and unsure of the other’s intentions, especially with the other being invisible, he naturally needed to identify them.

”Rude man!”

The female voice had a hint of anger.

”Five, four, three...”

Su Xiao released his aura, whoosh—dry leaves on the ground were blown up. In the Black Soil Fortress, he had killed at least a thousand tribal soldiers, and his aura was now immensely intimidating.

”Don’t misunderstand, I’m an ally.”

”Two.”

Su Xiao’s aura became even more ferocious.

”Wait a minute.”

”One.”

”You...”

The female voice was anxious, feeling as if a malicious beast forged from killing intent was staring at her with blood-red eyes. The beast reached out with an icy, penetrating tongue, licking her exposed skin. Cold, pricking pain.

Clang!

The Dragon Slash stopped in front of a delicate neck. The sharpness of the blade caused goosebumps on the fair skin.

An alluring, fair-skinned elf girl emerged naked. Her sharp ears, one hand covering her chest, and the other shielding her private parts.

”You... you did this on purpose. I’m going to report to Lord Carlos. With such a strong presence, you can’t be a new recruit. How could you not know about the Night Elf Clan?”

The elf girl’s sharp ears turned red, her chest heaving due to anger.

”Night Elf?”

Su Xiao examined her. Judging by her physique, appearance, and sharp ears, she was indeed an elf. But why would an elf be naked behind enemy lines? How absurd.

”Invisibility... can’t wear clothes?”

From her shy demeanor, as if she wanted to find a hole to crawl into, Su Xiao deduced she didn’t have an exhibitionism problem and concluded her general ability due to her stealth skill.

Mastering invisibility and aura concealment required being naked during stealth to avoid exposure or significant flaws.

Combat strength is just one aspect; intelligence analysis of enemies is an essential part of battle.

”Seen enough?”

The elf girl fumed, her teeth grinding. If not for Su Xiao’s terrifying aura, she wouldn’t have appeared in such a state.

”No offense meant, I joined less than a week ago, and I’m unfamiliar with the Night Elves.”

Su Xiao retracted his aura, allowing the Night Elf to breathe a sigh of relief and enter stealth mode.

”I will report you, definitely will. Our princess and Lord Carlos are a couple, hmph~”

The elf girl clearly hadn’t experienced such humiliation.

”Do as you please.”

Su Xiao didn’t care if she reported him. Having interacted with Carlos, he knew Carlos wouldn’t trouble him over such a minor issue. As for silencing her, that would be the stupidest choice. Besides, those who shout about reporting often don’t actually do so. If she was serious about reporting to Carlos, she would’ve left immediately without further exchange with Su Xiao.

Returning to the thrower, Su Xiao looked under it, as the elf girl mentioned a cord. Sure enough, there was one, hidden in a groove, easy to overlook.

Knowing how to operate it, Su Xiao didn’t hesitate to pull the cord.

”Wait!”

The elf girl yelled in panic, but it was too late.

Bang!

The projecting rod extended, launching the thirty Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles, successfully fired.

The Green Phosphorus was, indeed, launched, but the stabilizing devices at the four corners had been dismantled by Su Xiao. After the launch, the entire thrower toppled towards him!

Su Xiao solemnly swore to avoid unfamiliar enemy war machines in the future.

Boom!

Dirt flew everywhere, and dust billowed.

The invisible elf girl stood with her mouth agape, never having seen anyone ’crushed’ by a thrower before.

”Cough, cough, cough...”

Su Xiao emerged from the dust, patting off the dirt from his head. Although he hadn’t seen the Green Phosphorus fire land in enemy ranks, the large quantity of merit points indicated it had hit a dense spot of tribal soldiers.

”You’re not dead, huh~”

The elf girl spoke, her tone slightly gloating, yet visibly relieved.

”I am not.”

Su Xiao dusted off his clothes. With his nerve reflex speed, being crushed by a thrower was utterly absurd.

”Where are you heading? This is the deep rear of the tribal army. By the way, how did you get here? You couldn’t be a spy, could you?”

The elf girl took a step back.

”Hitched a ride.”

”Huh?”

The elf girl’s mind seemed unable to process; she wondered how a chariot could break through the tribal army.

Facing a series of perplexing events, Su Xiao wanted to kill, and coincidentally, he was planning to do just that.

”Where are you going?”

”...”

”Hey, why aren’t you speaking?”

”...”

”Don’t know if we can win.”

”...”

Su Xiao silently walked forward, realizing the elf girl he met was quite a chatterbox.

”So stingy, at most I won’t report you. Why ignore me?”

The invisible elf girl made a face at Su Xiao.

”I can sense you, which means you’re almost nakedly following behind me. I’m headed back to Black Soil Fortress. If you want to follow, suit yourself.”

Su Xiao’s words stunned the elf girl, her sharp ears quickly turning red as if set ablaze.

”Shameless!”

The elf girl fled into the forest. Su Xiao lit a cigarette, needing to calm himself. Having a stunningly beautiful, naked elf glancing around behind him was tempting for any normal man.

However, being on the battlefield, Rosé thoughts could easily lead to his demise.

Su Xiao exited the forest; a hundred meters away, he saw the tribal army with their backs to him. These soldiers, moving slowly and at ease, were unlikely to see combat as they were at the deep rear of the army.

Su Xiao stowed the Dragon Slash and drew the Slaughter Dagger, treading lightly to approach a beastman soldier from behind.

The short knife sliced the beastman soldier’s throat; the Slaughter Dagger was meant for such killing.

Equipment Effect 1: Throat Cutting (Passive), inflicts additional damage when slitting any creature’s throat.

Note: Additional damage is 50% to 60% of the Basic Damage, ignoring body defense and resistance.

Equipment Effect 2: Blood Weeping (Passive), if Throat Cutting is successful and triggers Equipment Effect 1, it evaluates the enemy’s stamina attribute. If the enemy fails, the Blood Weeping effect triggers, causing massive blood loss. Bleeding damage is 4% of the enemy’s Maximum Life Value per second, lasting 10 seconds. This damage has priority.

Note: If the enemy’s Life Value is below 30%, bleeding duration decreases by 50% (5 seconds), and bleeding effect doubles (8% Maximum Life Value per second).

Equipment Effect 3: Moonlight Glory (Passive), sharpness +14, Armor Break +10, penetration +9.

...

All three passive effects triggered; the beastman soldier was instantly killed, unable to utter a sound, with the only audible noise being the blade slicing through flesh.

The slight noise puzzled a nearby dwarf, but as he felt a chill on his neck, darkness quickly overcame him.

Sounds could be ignored, but the spurting blood would soon expose Su Xiao. He was merely conserving energy while killing; detection was inevitable.
