Chapter 761: Chapter 71: A History of Blood and Tears

Inside the exclusive room.

Su Xiao was checking the skill list; the Supreme Blade ability had been upgraded.

Skill Five

Supreme Blade: Lv.MAX+ (Active Skill).

Skill Effect 1: Can use this skill to bind an initial weapon (Bound: Dragon Slash).

Note: After binding the initial weapon, you will receive two blank additional skill slots (Used 1/2).

Note: Once the initial weapon is bound, it cannot be changed. If the initial weapon is damaged, it can be repaired using the Supreme Blade skill (repair cost determined by the current quality of the initial weapon).

Skill Effect 2: Can sacrifice melee weapons; successful sacrifice grants a certain amount of Blade Value based on the quality of the sacrificed weapon. When Blade Value reaches 100%, the initial weapon quality is upgraded.

Note: The sacrificed weapon must be of the same quality as the initial weapon (Light Gold quality).

Note: The sacrificed weapon must be a melee weapon with a certain cutting power. The sacrificed weapon category should not differ significantly from the initial weapon (e.g., swords, long daggers, long knives, short knives can be sacrificed, sacrificing long knives will gain extra Blade Value, other types of weapons will gain slightly less).

Skill Introduction: Don’t be deceived by appearances, in the future, you will be thankful for crafting this weapon.

...

The ’Increase any skill level by 1’ reward from the hidden task did not disappoint Su Xiao.

Although the Supreme Blade skill seems complicated, it actually only has two changes: one is an additional +1 skill slot, the other is an expanded range of weapons it can devour. Now Dragon Slash can use Light Gold melee weapons that meet the requirements to increase Blade Value.

Though the range has broadened, it cannot sacrifice weapons too different from Dragon Slash, for example, war hammers and long spears cannot be sacrificed.

The expanded range of weapons that can be sacrificed is undoubtedly good news, as same-quality knife-type weapons are extremely hard to find. Before, to upgrade Dragon Slash to Gold quality, at least 4-6 Light Gold knife-type weapons were needed, which was quite demanding.

Now the situation has clearly improved. Supreme Blade can sacrifice weapons similar in type to Dragon Slash, like swords and long daggers.

Of course, axes cannot be used, though they have edges, they are too different from knife-type weapons.

The cost is still significant, but the difficulty of purchasing has greatly reduced. Su Xiao experienced more than once the situation of having money but not being able to buy knife-type weapons.

Overall, using same-tier melee weapons to upgrade Dragon Slash is much cheaper than purchasing a similar attribute knife-type weapon.

If Dragon Slash can be upgraded to Gold quality, a Gold weapon with similar attributes would be costly enough for Su Xiao to doubt life. Furthermore, the weapons sacrificed have the characteristic of much higher attack power than weapons of the same level. Currently, the attack power of Light Gold quality Dragon Slash is almost the same as the Gold short knife Slaughter, a whole grade difference. If other contractors knew about this, they would certainly come to kill and plunder.

Su Xiao took out Dragon Slash to check its attributes, as expected, Dragon Slash gained a new attribute.

Supreme Blade Effect 3: (No skill added).

...

The original Dragon Slash had two ’Supreme Blade Effects’, the first cannot be changed, it will continue to increase sharpness as Dragon Slash quality improves.

The second can capture skills from devoured weapons and can be replaced. The current skill on it is Vanquish Sect (Passive), which increases sharpness and prevents enemies from recovering with conventional means after severing limbs.

As for Supreme Blade Effect 3, it’s very interesting. It differs from ’Supreme Blade Effect 2’, as it doesn’t capture skills from devoured weapons, but instead forms a skill based on Su Xiao’s combat style.

More precisely, there will temporarily be no skill appearing on Supreme Blade Effect 3. Only when Dragon Slash upgrades in quality next time will a skill appear, formed based on Su Xiao’s combat style.

Moreover, each time Dragon Slash upgrades, Supreme Blade Effect 3 will change. The exact attributes at that time are unknown to Su Xiao, but it is certain that the higher the quality of Dragon Slash, the stronger and more suitable this skill effect for Su Xiao.

Overall, although this time’s Supreme Blade enhancement didn’t immediately strengthen Dragon Slash, it increased Dragon Slash’s growth speed and potential, reducing the resources consumed for growth.

Closing the skill list, Su Xiao checked the number of Soul Crystals.

[Soul Crystals (Medium) ×4]

[Soul Crystal (Large) ×1]

...

Currently, Su Xiao doesn’t have a high demand for Soul Crystals (Medium), but he won’t sell them as they have too many uses and might come in handy anytime.

As for the Soul Crystal (Large), it’s used to improve Level 30 Sword Technique Master, requiring one for each level.

With the Soul Crystal (Large), Su Xiao should immediately upgrade Sword Technique Master, but embarrassingly, he lacks Paradise coins.

Each level upgrade of Sword Technique Master requires 100,000 Paradise coins + a Soul Crystal (Large). Currently, there’s only 46,430 Paradise coins in the Reincarnation Mark.

Although he gained many attribute points and equipment from the Holy Grail World, he didn’t earn much Paradise coin.

Su Xiao walked outside the exclusive room, heading straight to the trading market. He had two items to sell, namely the [Minotaur Lord’s Arm Armor (Purple)] and [Jack of All Trades (Light Gold)].

The Minotaur Lord’s Arm Armor is easy to sell, and if it weren’t for having the King’s Arm Guard, Su Xiao would temporarily keep it.

Equipment Effect: Minotaur Lord’s Rage (Active), activates this skill to gain +15 Power for 10 seconds.

Note: Minotaur Lord’s Rage (Active) has a cooldown of 10 natural days.

Note: Activating Minotaur Lord’s Rage (Active) consumes 30% Life Value.

...

A temporary +15 increase to Power Attribute, what a strong and dazzling ability. If Su Xiao uses this equipment now, his Power Attribute would instantly increase from 72 to 80, this isn’t an error in calculation; normally, after using Minotaur Lord’s Rage (Active), his Power Attribute should reach 87, but for some reason, it is stuck at 80, unable to break through. This seems to be a bottleneck that Su Xiao currently cannot overcome.

Even if it only reaches 80, it is exceptionally powerful, but the reality is different.

Activating Minotaur Lord’s Rage (Active) requires 30% Life Value, not from current Life Value, but 30% of maximum Life Value! In other words, if Life Value is below 30%, using this would lead to instant death, making it a slaying effect, a self-destruct artifact.

Su Xiao has used Minotaur Lord’s Rage (Active) several times, and its principle is converting blood into strength, with side effects post-use. The massive blood burning causes temporary weakness after the power bonus, requiring time to recover, and the skill cooling period is long; some Derivative Worlds’ stay isn’t even ten days.

It’s heartbreaking to mention, Su Xiao nearly died from this equipment. After that painful lesson, he rarely used this ability.

Even though there are many side effects, this unreliable equipment only marks the need to consume 30% Life Value, without mentioning anything about the side effects of blood burning.

Precisely because of this, this item is a divine artifact for deceiving novices. Some First Tier and Second Tier contractors don’t know about the 80-point checkpoint, making it even better for deception.
