Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 754: Chapter 64: Death is really tragic

The pedestrian street was crowded, and Su Xiao mingled among the people. Kirei Kotomine often wore a black priest’s robe. Given enough time, it wasn’t impossible to find him in the crowd.

Five minutes later, Su Xiao quickly swept his gaze across the roadside and then retracted his gaze, raising his hand to stop a passerby. He had already spotted his target.

”Hello, may I ask...”

Su Xiao pretended to ask for directions to start a conversation with the passerby. The passerby was polite, so the inquiry ended quickly. Su Xiao shook his head, seemingly unsatisfied with the answer.

Kirei Kotomine on the street side had looked at Su Xiao. He previously felt that Su Xiao glanced at him, but upon realizing Su Xiao was asking someone else for directions, he retracted his gaze.

”Indeed, it’s difficult to track a Heroic Spirit.”

Kirei Kotomine said calmly as he was tracking Su Xiao’s traces. Clearly, the tracking had failed.

”This... priest?”

Just about to turn away, Kirei Kotomine stopped and looked at the passerby who spoke to him.

”Is there something you need?”

Kirei Kotomine examined Su Xiao up and down. However, Su Xiao, who was holding a map and disguised, did not reveal any flaws.

”Excuse me, how do I get to Yongchuan District?”

Su Xiao spoke without looking at Kirei Kotomine, simply handing over the map and pointing to a certain location. It was not a very detailed map.

”...”

Kirei Kotomine took a small step back before accepting the map. His small retreat allowed the short knife that had slipped out of Su Xiao’s sleeve to be pulled back.

”Yongchuan District is...”

Kirei Kotomine briefly explained the route to Su Xiao. Although the evil beast within him had awakened, his old habits hadn’t changed immediately. Kirei Kotomine used to be helpful and polite.

”So it’s here. I seem to have gone in circles. I heard there’s a restaurant with good steak over there and wanted to try it, but now I’m not interested.”

Su Xiao’s expression didn’t change much. When talking to others, too much change in expression was abnormal; just a polite smile was enough.

”A student like you shouldn’t go to that restaurant; the food there is quite expensive.”

Kirei Kotomine turned and left.

”How did you know I’m a student?”

Su Xiao looked curiously at Kirei Kotomine’s back. Kirei Kotomine didn’t reply and gradually walked away.

In Su Xiao’s upper pocket, a corner of a student ID card was exposed.

”Cautious, as expected.”

Just now, Su Xiao actually had a chance to act, but considering Kirei Kotomine’s strong taijutsu, if he couldn’t ensure a one-hit kill, Kirei Kotomine would immediately use a command seal to forcibly summon the King of Heroes, which would be troublesome.

Su Xiao blended into the crowd; from beginning to end, Kirei Kotomine hadn’t noticed anything unusual.

...

Kirei Kotomine walked along the street, contemplating his next move, but the hunger in his stomach reminded him that he needed to eat.

Kirei Kotomine glanced at several restaurants on the pedestrian street; there was nothing he liked. However, in the next block, there was a Chinese restaurant; he had seen the restaurant’s advertisement before.

A type of food emerged in Kirei Kotomine’s mind, the soft and tender texture, the fiery, spicy flavor, causing his stomach acid to secrete faster, corroding his gastric pouch.

Ten minutes later, Kirei Kotomine walked into the Chinese restaurant, and a waiter came forward.

”Please, sir, inside.”

Seated, Kirei Kotomine did not look at the menu.

”One mapo tofu, one rice, make the mapo tofu spicy.”

”Yes, sir.”

The waiter bowed and left. This Chinese restaurant was quite large, and it was lunchtime, so it was almost full, which made Kirei Kotomine frown, expecting the food to be slow to serve.

Sure enough, after a full thirty minutes, a plate of mapo tofu and a bowl of rice were placed on the table in front of Kirei Kotomine.

”Thank you for waiting, please enjoy your meal.”

The waiter also placed a glass of iced orange juice on the table.

”I didn’t order this.”

Kirei Kotomine was puzzled.

”It’s like this, sir, you’ve been waiting...” The waiter glanced at his watch: ”You’ve waited over 25 minutes. According to the restaurant’s policy, if a guest waits more than 25 minutes, they receive a drink. If the guest doesn’t like the flavor, we can replace it...”

”No need.”

Kirei Kotomine took off his coat. As a regular eater of mapo tofu, he knew he’d be sweating profusely from the spiciness.

”If you need anything, just call me.”

With Kirei Kotomine’s nod, the waiter bowed and left.

Kirei Kotomine took out a fine needle full of runes, piercing it into the tofu and rice separately, confirming both were non-toxic. He then looked at the iced orange juice. After hesitating for a moment, he inserted the needle into the juice.

In Kirei Kotomine’s view, if someone wanted to poison him, they would undoubtedly choose the mapo tofu and rice because he might not drink the orange juice.

Clink~ The ice in the juice rotated, and water droplets slid down the glass.

Although tempted by deliciousness, Kirei Kotomine was cautious enough. Only after confirming all the food was non-toxic did he pick up his chopsticks.

Minutes later, Kirei Kotomine finished a large plate of spicy mapo tofu and a bowl of rice, with sweat dripping from his forehead, feeling utterly satisfied. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

Having just eaten a bowl of rice and a large plate of super spicy mapo tofu, even as a magician, Kirei Kotomine felt his throat dry.

He picked up the glass of orange juice and took several gulps.

”Ah~”

Kirei Kotomine exhaled a breath of cool air. There was nothing more satisfying than drinking ice-cold orange juice after spicy food.

”Check, please.”

Kirei Kotomine tugged at his collar.

”Cough~”

Kirei Kotomine coughed lightly, perhaps from too much spice, his throat was dry, prompting him to instinctively lift the glass of orange juice for another sip.

”Sir... you... total... expense...”

Kirei Kotomine’s world became distant. He immediately realized he was poisoned, and it was a deadly poison. But the food was fine, and the juice should have been non-toxic. Where was the problem?

The truth was, both the food and drink were non-toxic; the poison was hidden in the ice cubes of the iced orange juice. As the ice melted, the poison was released.

”I use command seal...”

Poof!

A short knife pierced Kirei Kotomine’s throat. The knife was exceptionally sharp, passing straight through his throat into the brain.

”Hoo~”

Kirei Kotomine’s mouth opened wide, a sound of exhalation escaping, as his body uncontrollably leaned back.

”Sir, you owe one life.”

Disguised as a waiter, Su Xiao withdrew the short knife from Kirei Kotomine’s throat, grabbing his hair.

Swish.

The short knife slit Kirei Kotomine’s throat, activating the Throat Cutting (passive), Blood Weeping (passive), and Moonlight Glory (passive) effects of the Slaughter Dagger simultaneously.

Equipment Effect 1: Throat Cutting (passive) causes additional damage when slitting the throat of any creature.

Note: Additional damage is 50%-60% of basic damage; extra damage ignores bodily defense and resistance.

Equipment Effect 2: Blood Weeping (passive), if successfully slitting the throat and triggering Equipment Effect 1, conducts a physical attribute check on the enemy. If the enemy fails the check, Blood Weeping is triggered, causing massive blood loss. Bleeding deals damage equal to 4% of the enemy’s maximum Life Value every second for 10 seconds, with damage having priority.

Note: If the enemy’s Life Value is below 30%, the bleeding duration is reduced by 50% (5 seconds), and the bleeding effect is doubled (8% of maximum Life Value per second).

Equipment Effect 3: Moonlight Glory (passive), sharpness +14, armor break +10, penetration +9.

...

Sizzle~

Blood sprayed from Kirei Kotomine’s throat, his body convulsing. Under the terrifying additional damage and bleeding damage, he died without even using the command seal. As for whether he died peacefully, from the thrashing of his still-kicking legs, it didn’t seem very peaceful.

To be precise, it was a miserable death, twitching all the way.
