Chapter 796: Chapter 27: Don’t Know How to Use

Su Xiao looked at the metal stone thrower and the dozens of Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles not far away. The metal thrower was quite large, over six meters long and about three meters wide.

His palm touched the metal stone thrower, and Su Xiao raised his eyebrow.

...

This thrower is actually a piece of equipment, but unfortunately, it belongs to war machinery and cannot be owned until it’s converted into spoils of war.

Moreover, loading this requires Level 10 Throwing Tool Mastery, a skill that Su Xiao doesn’t even comprehend, let alone master.

Although he can’t load it, it doesn’t mean Su Xiao can’t use it to launch the Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles, as it’s already loaded.

Su Xiao won’t fire it for now. Instead, he picked up a Green Phosphorus Burning Bottle from the ground. This could also be war machinery; if so, he wouldn’t be able to take even one, for the simple reason that he couldn’t carry it during combat without risk. If an enemy shatters the bottle, it would be disastrous.

Su Xiao examined the attributes of the Green Phosphorus Burning Bottle, and unsurprisingly, it was also a war tool.

After hesitating for a moment, he took a metal syringe and pierced the needle into the wooden cork of the ’Green Phosphorus Burning Bottle’.

Su Xiao remained vigilant about the potential for sudden ignition. Luckily, the needle of the metal syringe was thin, and there was no significant reaction from the Green Phosphorus Burning Bottle.

He extracted some of the Green Phosphorus Solution with the metal syringe. This is an alchemical product. If time permits, Su Xiao might research it, as his alchemical skills are not low, and he might manage to replicate it with a bit of luck.

Taking apart the metal syringe, he extracted a glass tube the length of a pinky from it, filled with Green Phosphorus Solution. The tube was made of high-strength glass, with a hardness comparable to metal, suitable for carrying around. Moreover, the amount of Green Phosphorus Solution inside was minimal. Even if it broke, he could immediately tear off the clothing that came into contact with the solution.

The sound of battle cries came from behind Su Xiao. He was in a somewhat remote location, near a small grove, and the Tribal Army hadn’t detected him yet.

As for why the ’Green Phosphorus Incendiary Bottle Thrower’ was placed in such a remote spot, the reason was simple: to reduce the chance of being discovered by the Night Elf Clan.

The Night Elf Clan is a special unit of the Empire, usually consisting of scouts or assassins, with over seventy percent being female. The Night Elves are naturally endowed with an ability; their skin and hair can absorb light, enabling long-term invisibility. Rumor has it that a Night Elf spends most of her life in invisibility because female Night Elves are too beautiful, attracting covetousness from male ’animals’.

These male animals include male humans, elves from other races, male beastmen, male dwarves, male goblins, and male trolls!

Perhaps only the straightforward giants won’t be tempted by the sight of female Night Elves, given the significant size disparity.

Long-invisible Night Elf scouts are the greatest threat to war machinery, which is why the tribal side appropriately hides the war machinery and reduces the number of soldiers nearby to avoid drawing attention from the Night Elves.

If a Night Elf discovers the war machinery, no matter how many soldiers are nearby, it won’t help. A Night Elf carries with her an Alchemy Corrosion Bomb, which has a highly corrosive effect on most metals.

It’s worth mentioning that a Night Elf can carry only one or two Alchemy Corrosion Bombs at most. The reason is that these invisible scouts can’t wear clothes.

Night Elves use their skin to absorb light to achieve invisibility. Once dressed, the invisibility effect greatly decreases, even becoming ineffective.

Imagine a number of exceptionally beautiful female Night Elves wandering naked near the battlefield, seeking opportunities to assassinate enemy leaders or sabotage siege weapons.

As for where the Night Elves hide the Alchemy Corrosion Bombs, the options for a naked Night Elf are limited. Of course, they just weave the Alchemy Corrosion Bombs into their braids, wrapping them with their hair.

Because of the existence of the Night Elves, there are few soldiers near this war machinery, leaving only a few necessary goblins, with alchemy traps set around. This not only provides fire support but also serves as bait. Therefore, most Night Elves understand some rudimentary alchemy to guard against the Tribal Army’s alchemy traps.

However, Su Xiao directly ignored the nearby alchemy traps because he flew in.

Su Xiao examined the ’Green Phosphorus Incendiary Bottle Thrower’. Its structure was complex, with hundreds of large and small parts, and the loading difficulty was extremely high, though firing was relatively simple.

The thrower had an operation lever, and based on Su Xiao’s estimation, pulling the lever should fire the ’Green Phosphorus Burning Bottle’.

Su Xiao took a rope from his storage space, tied twenty-five Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles together, and, carrying the bundled bottles, approached the thrower.

At the end of the thrower was a two-meter-long throwing rod, with five grooves securing five Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles.

Su Xiao tied the bundled ’Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles’ to one of the bottles already loaded.

This was his strategy: since neither the thrower nor the bottles could be taken away, he might as well use them all. The issue was that, aside from firing, he knew nothing about the other functions of the thrower, such as adjusting distance, throwing direction, and height.

Since he couldn’t adjust, he decided not to. The thrower was fully loaded, ready to fire at any time, meaning its current target might very well be the Imperial Army.

The weight of five ’Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles’ is different from that of thirty bottles. In Su Xiao’s plan, after successfully throwing the ’Green Phosphorus Burning Bottles’, the thirty bottles would fall into the Tribal Army due to their weight. Even if they didn’t, he had other contingency plans, which would only reduce the time the Green Phosphorus fire takes to burn the enemy.

A white object was affixed to the Green Phosphorus Burning Bottle, an Alchemy Bomb, serving as Su Xiao’s backup.

Gripping the lever on the thrower, Su Xiao hoped to successfully throw, as success equated to substantial military merit.
