Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Putuo patted him on the back and said to Alka, ”My brother here also wanted to go there before, but unfortunately, he isn’t strong enough.”

Alka turned his head to look at a campfire not far away. Beside the campfire were only two lonely figures, the two Demon Hunters who were traveling with them.

They almost never spoke along the way and just followed silently, clearly not very sociable.

”Although these Demon Hunters are sullen and not talkative, they are people you can trust to watch your back. Plus, they’re very skilled at killing demons without any hesitation,” Putuo said with a smile.

He then gestured with his hands, making sound effects of a blade with his mouth.

He then eyed the wooden stick in Alka’s hand and pointed behind himself.

”When the time comes, you can actually act with them; they should be heading there too.”

Alka nodded in acceptance of his suggestion.

After a little more chatting, everyone started climbing into their sleeping bags one by one to rest.

......

”Roar!”

A fierce roar.

Putuo, covered in blood-red, resembled a berserk beast. He had grown hair as hard as spikes.

His hands sprouted claws like those of a wolf, slashing through the monsters like a bloodthirsty butcher in a frenzy.

As he swung his arms, large amounts of blood and flesh were sliced and scattered.

The mercenaries following him didn’t change much in appearance, but their teeth sprouted fangs, and they exuded a blood-red aura.

These mercenaries, wielding war sabers or giant axes, slaughtered the monsters in a frenzy among the hordes.

When these mercenaries gathered, they became like a meat grinder, working in tandem to crazily mow down the surrounding monsters.

On the other side, a large, long fire snake slithered and weaved through the monsters. Each time it passed, a pile of monsters would be ignited.

Alka stood there, a red Flame Card hovering by his side.

These monsters seemed to be mutated from a pack of wolves, each mutating in a different way, which was somewhat sickening and unsettling.

These monsters pushed through the flames, ignoring their burning bodies, lunging to bite at Alka.

Seeing the monsters pouncing at him, Alka lightly waved his hand, conjuring flames out of thin air to ignite them into a fireball.

Then he deftly kicked a monster sneakily attacking from behind into the pile of monsters behind. The monster Alka kicked burst out in a fiery explosion, spreading flames like burning oil to the nearby monsters.

Despite the mutation, their fur was incredibly thick and caught fire easily.

The only pity was that these monsters seemed to lack any pain or fear. Otherwise, Alka’s flames could have had an even more dramatic effect.

Alka’s location on the battlefield became the brightest spot, almost fully illuminating the night.

This was a nighttime raid. The caravan Alka was part of seemed to have caught the attention of this horde of monsters during their night journey.

This group of monsters didn’t hesitate to launch a surprise attack on them.

No one in the entire crowd was surprised by such a sudden raid, and they easily responded to it.

Twenty soldiers formed a perimeter around the caravan, coordinating seamlessly to hold off the monsters effortlessly.

Clearly, this wasn’t the first time they had faced such a problem.

The two silent Demon Hunters were even more ruthless than the mercenaries when killing monsters.

While Alka continued to fend off and clear the monsters in front of him, he observed them with his peripheral vision. A gray-purple aura emanated from the Demon Hunters, and just looking at it gave an unsettling feeling.

It wasn’t nauseating, but more of a shiver-inducing aura.

Moreover, they produced two-handed giant swords taller than a person from somewhere, and Alka estimated the swords were at least two meters long.

Each swing mowed down a large swath of monsters.

The sullen Demon Hunters became extremely wild when fighting, with attacks that seemed to shake heaven and earth.

The gray-purple aura enveloped their Great Swords, and any monster cut by them fell as if gravely wounded.

Alka sensed something and waved his hand, launching a fireball that sent several monsters flying.

A mercenary saved by Alka nodded in gratitude and said, ”Thanks.”

”You’re welcome.”

After a brief exchange, they dove back into the battle once again.

Fortunately, despite their sheer numbers in the hundreds, the monsters were of varying quality.

The majority were nearing the Second Stage of Perfection, with quite a few being in the Third Stage.

But none of the caravan members were below Tier Three, and Alka noticed even the weakest mercenary had a Middle Stage strength in the Third Stage.

Like Putuo, who was in the Fourth Stage and undoubtedly possessed a treasure.

His transformation into that monster was likely a function of the treasure, which also affected his teammates.

The caravan leader, having the same strength at Middle Stage in the Fourth Stage, also possessed a treasure.

In simple terms, anyone daring to venture outside the city had strength of no less than Tier Three, with superb combat skills.

In the outside world, each of them could be considered strong.

Through mutual cooperation, only a few mercenaries sustained minor injuries, efficiently eliminating the horde of monsters.

With the last monster dealt with, the mercenaries and soldiers expertly pulled out various short knives and daggers, starting to carve up the wolves.
