Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Inside the captain’s room of the Sound of Dawn’s ship.

Alka and the others sat around the round wooden table in the center of the captain’s room, seemingly discussing something.

They had been staying in this port city for several days now, gathering information, and had more or less understood the general situation of this region.

In front of Alka was a map, and he was gazing at it intently. A brown earth card floated before him, and on the round table, sand and stone converged to form a fluctuating sand table.

The reason so much information could be reproduced from the map is because Alka really saw such a sand table in the city and completely replicated it.

With the sand table, it became more intuitive to understand the entire region.

After completing the sand table, Alka pointed to the bottom left corner of the map where there was a small stone model of a city.

”This is where we are staying. The demon’s region is generally in this area.”

Saying this, Alka drew a crooked boundary line in the central depression.

”Legend has it that this depression is the world’s wound, and it’s this wound that has weakened the world’s body and barrier enough for demons and various other evil beings to easily come here.”

This means the island, or rather continent, was originally whole, but the wound caused a fissure from the center to the boundary gap. Ocean currents filled in, forming a passage leading to the sea.

”And this boundary line is a long strip of walls, with walls and various fortresses completely surrounding this region.”

Juanlu looked at the map: ”Do you mean this wall completely surrounds the demon’s boundary line?”

Alka nodded, although it sounded exaggerated, it was indeed the truth.

Walls encasing an entire region, like putting up a wall around a nation’s border, was indeed absurd.

”This surely wasn’t built by human hands,” Chadite said after calculating in his head, it was simply too unrealistic.

”That’s right, it’s said to be constructed with treasure, and it’s the handiwork of the Seed of Life and the Holy Mother Church.”

Understanding comes easier if it’s the combination of these two churches.

This is because the various abilities of these churches and the divine authority have a lot to do with earth and soil.

”However, it’s not to say inside the walls is safe, only areas outside of the cities aren’t safe.

Many demons can reach various places on the mainland via rituals or teleportation gates through this weak area.

But such demons are few, unable to emerge in large numbers. Compared to the demons flowing out from the world’s wound, they’re insignificant and rarely occupy an area, eventually getting exterminated when exposed.”

Alka said.

Then once again waved his hand, marking one city after another on the map.

It’s visible that there are a total of 4 port cities similar to their current city, all located away from the demon’s boundary gap.

Here is the channel connecting to the outside world, where most resources arrive first before being transferred to other places.

Given the chaos here, you can’t expect to grow any edible crops successfully. Even if grown, they wouldn’t survive past two generations before being polluted by the abyss and various eerie auras, turning strange, possibly poisonous.

A road after another route, extending from the city all the way to the wall.

These are the ”blood vessels.”

”It’s only around these transport hubs that are considered safe. Other directions aren’t just the demons.

Wild beasts, driven mad by the abyssal aura of this area, and various sly foreign beings have also infiltrated.

These unfriendly foreign beings, either fundamentally hostile or intrinsically antagonistic.”

”What does ’intrinsically antagonistic’ mean?” Pororo scratched his head and asked puzzledly.

Fundamentally hostile could be considered simply as an evil faction, but what does ’intrinsically’ mean?

Alka thought for a moment before explaining: ”For instance, a foreign race that feeds on the flesh and blood of intelligent beings, enjoying curious intelligent beings’ souls.”

”Alright, no need to explain, I get it.”

Upon hearing this, Pororo knew what it meant.

Simply put, it’s antagonism in terms of their physical makeup.

Everyone listened to Alka’s narration, looking at the sand table before them.

In simple terms, this is a very dangerous domain, with scarce safe areas.

Do not be fooled by the large territory occupied by the Four Gods Faction; most of it isn’t safe.

It’s just a lot safer compared to the areas occupied by demons.

”What should we do now?” Lucilia asked.

Currently, they were only at the Fifth Stage, but their target was an Eighth Stage demon.

A demon as cunning as a devil, unlike other demons, not as reckless, making it difficult to plot against.

Upon arriving here, they were prepared for a long-term combat.

Indeed, that was their plan.

Practically speaking, they only had two options now.

First, enhance their power to the Perfection of Sixth Stage, or reach the Seventh Stage before heading out again.
