Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1632: Chapter 1630: Calling Out for Love at the Center of the Universe

Outside the porthole, the pitch-black universe stretched endlessly. Watching the occasional flashing light, Haruka took a deep breath and barely managed to suppress the anxiety in her heart.

”I really didn’t expect that we would actually go to space...”

”Yeah...”

Upon hearing Haruka’s exclamation, Chihaya nodded as well, looking around with a complex expression, unsure what to say. To be honest, though they already learned their ”job content” from Fang Zheng, it wasn’t until now, being inside this luxurious spaceship filled with science fiction vibes, that they finally accepted this reality before them.

We’re really going to hold a concert in space?

Even in her dreams, Haruka never imagined such a development!

The two glanced at each other, then looked toward the others. It wasn’t just them; the other girls were also bewildered and nervous. Xuebu curled up in her chair, not daring to move a muscle. The twins, on the other hand, were curiously looking around, touching things as if they were touring a sightseeing spot. Meanwhile, Kikuchi Makoto was curiously observing those strange yet high-tech instruments, wanting to know their purpose.

The performance of others wasn’t much better, except for Meixi—she continued to adhere to her principle of sleeping wherever she went and was snoring away on the couch.

However, Meixi’s ability to sleep didn’t mean the others could.

”I really didn’t expect the producer to have such skills!”

”Are we really going to sing in space? I’m so scared...”

”The producer said there’s a war here, will there be any danger...”

Amidst everyone’s chatter, there was a ”beep” sound as the tightly closed door opened, and Sora walked in.

”Sora!”

Seeing Sora appear, the girls breathed a sigh of relief. Since they boarded the spaceship, Fang Zheng had only instructed them to rest well and then left, and Sora was nowhere to be seen. This left the members of 765 Production and Yukina in an unfamiliar place feeling somewhat anxious. Seeing Sora’s appearance now, everyone finally felt at ease.

”Why don’t you all go rest?”

Looking at the girls in the rest area, Sora paused for a moment, then spoke.

”Brother already told you all before, to go back to your rooms and rest... This journey is not short, resting early is necessary for holding the concert, right?”

”Huh?”

Hearing this, Ritsuko nervously asked.

”Directly hold it? Don’t we need to rehearse and train...”

”We don’t have that much time.”

Facing Ritsuko’s inquiry, Sora shook her head.

”Brother has already told you, this concert is for battle preparation. Although there is no current report of the Zentradi alien attack, they could attack the immigrant ship at any moment.”

At this, Sora helplessly spread her hands.

”We can’t possibly negotiate with the enemy about when they might attack.”

”Are we really going to battle with aliens?”

Although they had heard Fang Zheng’s explanation before, the girls were still very nervous when Sora repeated it.

”Don’t worry, you don’t need to fight. You just need to sing on stage, this warship can protect your safety; those aliens won’t harm you at all.”

Sora waved her hand.

”Brother invited you because of this assurance. Otherwise, bringing you here would just be sending you to your deaths.”

Upon hearing Sora’s answer, the girls couldn’t help but hold their breath... They never thought a performance would be linked to their life...

”Um... Sora.”

As the members of 765 remained silent, unsure of what to say, Yukina raised her hand.

”Why doesn’t Haruno show up...”

”Brother still has a lot of work to do, but don’t worry; he will appear when we arrive at the immigrant ship.”

Just as Sora said, Fang Zheng indeed had a lot of work to do. Although during this time in the World of Love there were no issues in the Main World, Fang Zheng returned to the Heavenly Dao Palace at the first opportunity to summarize and confirm the current situation of various worlds.

The Game World was all normal, without any problems.

In the Type Moon World, the Mage’s Association had been completely destroyed, and the new plan intertwining magecraft and technology was underway. Of course, it wasn’t so smooth initially. However, most problems arising were solvable by those magicians themselves, so Fang Zheng didn’t have to pay much attention.

As for the Main World, it had gone through two more Chaos Tides during this time. Fortunately, the intensity of these tides was not very high, only weakening the Order protection by three percent, thus not a major concern.

But, it doesn’t mean everything was smooth.

For instance, the Goddess of Order brought Fang Zheng a rather ominous message.

”The Order Core of the Third Coordinate Point is malfunctioning?”

Looking at the Goddess of Order before him, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but frown; he didn’t expect such a development.

”Yes, currently we suspect the Order Core of the Third Coordinate Point has very serious issues and may even be polluted by Chaos...”

”Polluted by Chaos...”

Hearing this, Fang Zheng’s face grew solemn. The cores of the first two coordinate points were damaged but still usable. Whether Eluka the Star God or Lilith, they had damaged cores but could be fixed. However, a Chaos-polluted Order Core was another matter entirely...

”So, this means this coordinate is completely unusable?”

”Yes, it’s impossible to completely eradicate Chaos from the coordinate core, so we hope next time, you can utterly destroy that world.”

”It must be utterly destroyed?”

”The infectious and dangerous nature of Chaos is well-known to both of us. If we don’t act quickly to destroy the coordinate point, Chaos might contaminate the other two cores, making the situation even harder to control.”

”I understand.”

Though the Goddess of Order said this, Fang Zheng clearly wasn’t going to follow her suggestion outright. The methods used by the Goddess of Order’s kind to eliminate Chaos have proven to be failures. Even if Fang Zheng followed her suggestions, it would only repeat past mistakes.

If that’s the case, it’s better to consider other ways to resolve this problem. Of course, specifics will have to wait until Fang Zheng investigates further.

”What is the current situation?”

”The Azure First Fleet has completely surrounded the Third Coordinate Point, and there’s currently no sign of any Chaotic Power leakage.”

”Very well, continue monitoring and report immediately if there’s any issue.”

”Understood.”

After giving Iona the order, Fang Zheng finally relaxed, leaning back and stretching in the chair. At this moment, Sora sent a message to Fang Zheng.

”Brother, the Zentradi fleet has been spotted.”

”Excellent.”

Hearing Sora’s report, Fang Zheng nodded.

”Well then, let’s see if this world’s setup is as strange as it seems... is everyone ready?”

”Um... not really?”

”...Huh?”

When Fang Zheng returned to the Mech World, he finally understood what Sora meant. The girls before him were pale, each looking as if they were being sent to the gallows. Even those who were usually the most composed, like Takane and Miura Azusa, also wore expressions of unease.

”Producer!”

Seeing Fang Zheng’s arrival, everyone was finally relieved.

”What’s the matter? Aren’t you all ready yet?”

”Of course not, we haven’t even finalized the setlist yet!”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s inquiry, Ritsuko immediately complained. Normally, a concert involves confirming the venue, choreography, songs, and other preparations before rehearsing, leading up to the actual performance. However, here, almost everything the girls knew was upended. Just as they managed to get some restful sleep and had barely woken up, Sora rushed them out of bed, telling them that the Zentradi would attack the migration ship in three hours and they needed to get ready for a concert immediately.

This completely stunned the girls, who thought they’d go through a series of procedures once they arrived. Yet there was no foreplay—straight to the heart of the matter!

”I will get the setlist ready immediately. All you need to do is adjust your conditions; follow the sequence of the previous LIVE for the procedure. You won’t need to dance, just singing and harmonizing will do.”

”But... Producer...”

Though Fang Zheng tried his best to reassure them, Haruka remained pale. She hesitated a bit, then asked softly.

”But... if we fail, won’t a lot of people die...?”

”...”

Hearing this, the other girls fell silent, anxiously looking at Fang Zheng.

And it was understandable. After all, they lived in a world as peaceful as can be—aside from a few crimes of passion, the world hardly had even local conflicts. Their understanding of war came entirely from textbooks and history books. In these circumstances, asking them to step onto a battlefield was indeed stressing them out.

”That’s not a concern for you.”

Fang Zheng paused for a moment but continued speaking.

”Listen closely, even if you weren’t here, these people would still have to fight to protect their homes. So, if your songs can conquer those aliens, that’s great. But if not, things will just remain the same, so you don’t need to put too much pressure on yourselves.”

Honestly, Fang Zheng himself found this too far-fetched—could singing a song really debuff the enemy? Could the world setting be any more ridiculous?

Nevertheless, since they decided to give it a try, they might as well...

After all, trying wouldn’t get anyone pregnant, right?

”Sing with the hope and belief in peace, and as for the outcome... leave it to fate to decide.”

After hearing Fang Zheng’s words, the girls, though still a bit uneasy, quickly pulled themselves together to prepare for the performance.

Watching the busy girls, Sora approached Fang Zheng.

”Brother, are you sure this will work?”

”Who knows... let’s give it a try...”

Fang Zheng sighed helplessly.

”It’s better than doing nothing, isn’t it?”

Three hours may not be long, but it wasn’t exactly short either. Yet, for the girls busy preparing for the concert, it went by in the blink of an eye.

”Huff... huff...”

Standing in the hall at the front of the warship, Haruka clutched her hands tightly to her chest. She could clearly see the oval, shell-like migration ship just outside the window, as well as the escort warships around it. VF fighters formed formations, preparing for battle. Just witnessing this scene gave a premonition of an impending tempest.

”Haruka, are you okay?”

At this moment, Chihaya’s voice came from beside her. Haruka looked at Chihaya and forced a weak smile.

”I guess... I’m just a little nervous.”

”Me too... in fact, everyone’s nervous.”

Haruka glanced around. Indeed, as Chihaya said, the girls standing behind them wore solemn expressions. Even the twins, who were always cheerful, looked extraordinarily grave at this moment.

Who knows if we can actually succeed...

As Haruka’s thoughts wandered, suddenly, a voice declared.

”Detecting hyperspace distortion! The Zentradi fleet is about to arrive!”

As soon as the words were spoken, Haruka and the others saw a vast array of flashes light up the pitch-black space in the distance. Moments later, a massive structure resembling an interstellar fortress appeared before them, surrounded by hundreds or thousands of alien warships.

Without hesitation, both sides commenced firing nearly the instant they clashed. All at once, there were explosions and flashes everywhere in the universe, merging into a single chaotic spectacle.

”Alright, let’s begin.”

Watching the scene unfold, Fang Zheng nodded and snapped his fingers.

”MUSIC!”
