Chapter 1627: Chapter 1625: Yukina’s Confusion (Curling Up to Sleep)

When Yukina appeared before everyone again, her face was completely pale.

”What’s wrong, Yukina?”

Seeing Yukina in this state, both Touma and Sekai couldn’t help but worry, while Yukina hesitated no longer and stammered as she told the three of them what had happened earlier.

Originally, Yukina had planned to never speak of it, but because Kawano never came to find her, and an impatient Producer Yamamoto dragged Yukina to look for Kawano, only to be told that he had already left. At the time, Producer Yamamoto thought Yukina’s attitude had displeased Kawano and ended up scolding her harshly, demanding that Yukina apologize to Kawano later.

But what neither of them expected was that the next day, they received news from the agency that Kawano and others had been found unexpectedly dead in an underground bar, with the scene reportedly horrifying. Although the police’s current investigation results suggested that the group had overdosed on drugs and gotten too high, it still frightened Yukina terribly.

After all, if she hadn’t been careful, she could have died there too!

So Yukina didn’t hesitate and hurriedly called everyone together to discuss what to do.

”But this doesn’t seem to have anything to do with you.”

Although everyone was shocked to hear that Yukina had been treated this way, Touma soon frowned and opened his mouth to argue. After all, even though Yukina had been invited by Mr. Kawano, she hadn’t accepted or gone along, so what did Kawano’s death have to do with Yukina?

”I also said the same thing, but... according to Miss Yamamoto, Mr. Kawano’s father is very angry and is investigating what happened. It’s said that he dotes on this child very much, and he might vent his anger on someone else...”

After all, such thoughts are not uncommon among wealthy people. As Touma and Sekai saw it, Yukina not going meant the matter had nothing to do with her at all. But to Kawano’s father, my son invited you, and you didn’t go. As a result, you’re alive, and my son is dead. Is there something fishy going on?

Even if not, why are you alive while my son is dead?

It was after hearing this from Producer Yamamoto that Yukina was so frightened that she came to consult with everyone.

However...

”We... don’t really have any solution either.”

Touma and Sekai exchanged troubled glances. Although Touma was somewhat famous in the classical music circle, she had no power, and Sekai even less so.

Then, at this moment, Setsuna spoke.

”Why not ask Haruno for help?”

”This...”

”Touma has mentioned before, from what Touma said, Haruno has enough ability to solve your problem. If you think you can’t solve it, then go find Haruno.”

”This...”

Hearing Setsuna’s suggestion, Yukina hesitated.

”But won’t this cause trouble for Haruno?”

”Here it comes!”

Hearing this, the spiritualized Little Hei gave Illya beside her a nudge, dismissively curling her lips.

”Look, the ultimate Japanese move—avoiding causing trouble for others! I really hate this!”

”Ahahaha...”

Hearing Little Hei’s complaint, Illya also gave an awkward, strained smile.

In the Heavenly Dao Palace, if there was anyone whose relationship with Fang Zheng was the best, there was no real answer, but if you asked who had the most similar temperament to Fang Zheng, it was Little Hei. Their values, personalities, and all other aspects were very much alike, so Fang Zheng always liked to bring Little Hei along, and Little Hei also loved going out with Fang Zheng.

Illya had heard Fang Zheng and Little Hei complain more than once about some annoying characteristics of Japanese people, like excessive politeness and an extreme aversion to causing trouble for others. Fang Zheng even told them a joke, saying that a Japanese person, desperate to urinate on a plane, didn’t dare leave their seat for fear of troubling the person next to them, and ended up holding it in until they died.

Illya also understood why Little Hei disliked this, because in their own world, due to certain events, their companion Miyu had some secrets about her background.

At the time, Illya had hoped Miyu would reveal it herself, but Miyu was so afraid of causing trouble for everyone that she wouldn’t speak a word. Little Hei was exasperated with Miyu and Illya, one not spealing, the other not asking, and ultimately, this led to Miyu being attacked without any psychological preparation, catching them completely off guard.

So Little Hei most hated this horrible trait of refusing to speak even at the cost of dying—it was fine to die alone, but why drag others down with you? That’s why she had strong objections to Miyu at the time—”If you had spoken up, at least we would know better and not be caught unawares, right?!

She doesn’t see this as some kind of virtue; she only feels that this is...

”Insanity!”

Floating in the air, Little Hei commented on Yukina.

”Miyu is insane, and so is this sister!”

”L-Little Hei, that’s a bit too much, isn’t it?”

Hearing Little Hei’s complaint, Illya hurriedly tried to dissuade her, but of course Little Hei paid no mind to Illya’s objections, sniffing disdainfully as she continued.

”Am I wrong? Think about it, if we hadn’t helped her, and it led to this big sister being bullied by those people, what then? Would she report it to the police? No, she’d probably swallow her anger, and maybe later those people would make even more excessive demands of her, wouldn’t they?”

”Well... probably.”

”Exactly, then why doesn’t she ask big brother for help? Even if she can’t imagine those people would be so perverted, at least she should know what she’s facing, right? Just ask big brother for help and it would be solved. At most, she could repay him with her life, like in those martial hero stories Lin Yueru sister told us, right? The hero sees injustice, draws his sword to help—maiden offers herself in gratitude? Isn’t that great? It solves her problem without future worries, isn’t that better?”

”But, doing so might make her feel like she’s using big brother, maybe she’s afraid of leaving a bad impression on big brother...”

”Hah?”

Hearing Illya’s explanation, Little Hei looked at her as though she were a fool.

”So you think letting Sister Yukina be toyed with by that group, then filmed and turned into their slave, would not leave a bad impression on big brother when he finds out?”

”Uh...”

At this point, Illya was speechless.

”Big brother was right, after all, this is truly a troublesome world.”

Little Hei shook her head. Initially, she had enthusiastically encouraged Fang Zheng to find a few members for his harem here, but now after this pursuit, Little Hei decisively changed her mind. Her thoughts were very similar to Fang Zheng’s, and precisely for that reason, she thought Yukina’s actions were really stupid.

”So, should we tell MASTER?”

”No.”

This time, Little Hei shook her head.

”Big brother has a saying I quite like: if you make a choice, you have to bear the consequences. Now, Sister Yukina is foolish enough to make the situation so complicated that it’s up to her own choice to seek help or not. If she’s still that foolish... then we’ll just keep playing along.”

After all, there are no classes or homework to do, so it’s just another way to pass the time.
