Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

Chapter 1624: Chapter 1622: It’s That White Album Season Again (Meow! Super Fierce!)

”Christmas Eve... ...”

Looking at the Christmas trees and shops outside, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but remark.

”What a boring holiday.”

”You don’t like it?”

Hearing Sora’s words, Fang Zheng curiously looked at her.

”I remember you were really happy during Christmas Eve before.”

”As long as I’m with my brother, even Halloween would be delightful for me.”

At this point, Sora couldn’t help but curl her lips slightly.

”In my view, Christmas and such are just excuses. If you can only prove your love on such days, then it’s better not to have them at all. If you’re truly in love on normal days, why pick a special holiday to prove it? Valentine’s Day is just as ridiculous.”

”Hmm... ...”

Though Sora’s words were a bit jumbled, Fang Zheng could understand her. Speaking of which, Sora didn’t seem to have the habit of giving him chocolate on Valentine’s Day either.

”By the way, with today being so busy, are you sure it’s okay?”

”We’ll see how it goes. If everything goes smoothly... you also need to step up.”

”I am getting paid too, okay?”

Sora snorted lightly, then turned and left. Today was indeed a busy day; in the office, everyone except for Tori, who was left to answer the phones, was out working.

Lately, after work, everyone would directly go home, but today’s situation was obviously different.

”So, this is the place?”

After glancing at the address, Fang Zheng pressed down on the accelerator.

In the next moment, the car roared out of the street.

When Fang Zheng returned to the office again, it was already bustling with activity.

”Ah, little brother!”

The twins, who were decorating the Christmas tree, saw Fang Zheng and cheerfully greeted him.

”Yo, looks like everyone’s here.”

Looking at the girls in the room, Fang Zheng nodded with satisfaction. Honestly, the office had been quite deserted these days, but today was different. Everyone gathered here, and the lively scene felt like when Fang Zheng first joined the office. Back then, everyone didn’t have much work, so they’d gather at the office whenever they had free time.

But as the work increased, fewer people came, and at times, only Tori and Sora were there, making Sora complain to Fang Zheng, ”It’s as quiet as a graveyard.”

Today, it was finally lively again.

Honestly, Fang Zheng hoped that everyone could always be like this, but... people grow up, right?

Things change too.

What will next year be like?

Looking at the girls’ joyful faces, Fang Zheng started to ponder. He’s only been a producer here for a year, which was the agreement with President Takagi in the first place. After all, as the ruler of the Heavenly Dao Palace, he can’t just waste time in this world. When the tasks are finished, he’ll have to leave, as this world, unlike the Type Moon World, doesn’t require him to change anything, nor is it like the Game World needing Fang Zheng to lead trends.

Perhaps someone else could take over his work here? And maybe negotiate with President Takagi to expand Farron Xiuxiu’s stage? If those zombie girls knew they could hold concerts in other worlds, they’d be thrilled.

Of course, the premise is not to act as silly as in the Heavenly Dao Palace.

Thinking of this, Fang Zheng remembered the time at the Amagi Brilliant Park carnival, where those zombie girls publicly played head-tossing games, and the Cursed Children below were shouting excitedly... Well, luckily, those kids have seen a lot of worlds with me, so their mental resilience is quite strong.

But in this world... better be cautious.

Otherwise, it might cause a big commotion.

The girls, who haven’t seen each other for a long time, were also excitedly gathered, chatting and laughing. Today was not only Christmas Eve but also Xuebu’s birthday. Everyone bought cakes and gifts to celebrate with Xuebu, who was so overjoyed she almost cried trying to hold all her gifts.

At this moment, President Takagi suddenly stepped out, coughed twice, and the girls, who were all laughing and chatting, quickly quieted down, looking at the president with curiosity.

”Well, now that everyone’s here, there’s something I’d like to announce. Amakai, Kisaragi, Hoshii, please come forward.”

”???”

Hearing the president’s words, the three looked at each other curiously but obediently stepped forward.

”First, Meixi.”

Smiling slightly, the president looked at Meixi.

”Hoshii Miki, congratulations on winning the Best New Idol Award at this year’s Brilliant Idol Awards!”

”What———!?”

Upon hearing this, the other girls exclaimed. This was the annual idol selection contest in this world, where they choose the most popular idol, the trendiest idol, etc. Naturally, rookie idols were also in the running. Although everyone had been working hard, no one expected Meixi to win this award.

Unlike the others, who were shocked, Meixi looked utterly baffled.

”Did Meixi get something?”

”This is the best Christmas gift.”

Fang Zheng also chimed in with a smile, while Sora next to him snorted softly and muttered.

”That’s why I said, most men are foolish creatures.”

”If you don’t like it, why not go and win an award yourself? I think you could win something too.”

”I don’t want to.”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s suggestion, Sora quickly averted her gaze.

”Do you want me to smile at any man other than my brother? Don’t even think about it!”

”......”

With so many idols here, can you not talk about smiling at men?

While the two were whispering, Meixi finally seemed to understand, and she broke into a radiant smile.

”Thank you, everyone, so, so... ...”

While speaking, Meixi paused to think for a moment, and then, seemingly coming up with something, she giggled and ran up to Fang Zheng.

”So, this award is a Christmas gift from Meixi to HONEY. HONEY, are you happy?”

”Of course I’m happy, this is the best gift ever.”

As Fang Zheng spoke, he reached out and patted Meixi’s head, and Meixi showed a super happy smile.

However, at this time, Ritsuko coughed.

”It’s good to be happy, but Meixi, you still need to keep working hard, at least change that habit of speaking without thinking!”

”Hahaha......”

Hearing this, Meixi showed a slightly embarrassed smile, and Fang Zheng also shook his head helplessly. Ritsuko had reason to say this, because a few days ago during an interview, a reporter asked Meixi who she wanted to spend Christmas with. Normally, it would be fine to just answer ”family,” but Meixi actually said, ”Of course, I want to spend it with someone I like, it’s HONEY.”

As a result, this directly made the reporters excited as if they had covered a major scoop... well, it indeed was big news.

Of course, Meixi wasn’t foolish enough to directly name names, she just muddled through with her unique way, but it made Ritsuko watching the live broadcast at the time get a stomachache. Afterward, she caught Meixi and gave her a scolding — a newly famous young idol openly saying she wants to spend Christmas with her beloved HONEY in public, it’s a good thing she didn’t name names, and managed to muddle through by saying something like ”all my FANS are my HONEY.” But... it almost gave Ritsuko a heart attack.

Fang Zheng, on the other hand, didn’t care at all, since no matter how big a fuss was made, as long as he wrote in the ”Ratziel,” the world would immediately change the next day.

Watching Meixi act cute to Fang Zheng, Sora standing beside them didn’t speak, she just snorted lightly. Sora originally thought she should draw Meixi closer, but she felt that her personality didn’t match with Meixi at all.

Moreover... Meixi, who speaks her mind freely, seemed to have no value in Sora’s view...

She might even casually leak information.

”Ahem, I haven’t finished speaking yet.”

Until President Takagi spoke again, the ever-clinging Meixi ran back, and President Takagi looked at the three of them and spoke again.

”Hmm, the second thing is... STARS’ ’Self REST@RT’ has won this year’s annual top pop music award, and they just called to invite you to the Platinum Idol Grand Prize.”

”Ahhhh!!!!”

This time, the girls all screamed, reacting even more than when they heard Meixi won the newcomer award.

This was normal, as the Platinum Idol Grand Prize in this world had a status similar to the Kohaku Uta Gassen, even though the time wasn’t during the New Year, it was still one of the most important pre-New Year events. All those who qualified for the Platinum Idol Grand Prize were rather famous celebrities.

And the STARS group, which hadn’t been around for a year, being invited was truly surprising.

Hearing this news, Fang Zheng also sighed in relief.

”This really surprised me.”

”After all, we didn’t get the championship before, and I thought we were out of the running.”

Sora nodded and spoke.

As Sora said, although Fang Zheng had been working hard, STARS’ ranking had always hovered around second or third on the weekly charts, never reaching first. Fang Zheng had thought of waiting until after Christmas to push with the holiday spirit, and never expected such an unexpected turn of events.

”Brother, did you really not manipulate anything?”

”I wish I could.”

Facing Sora’s low inquiry, Fang Zheng rolled his eyes helplessly, his rogue system would never give him face in terms of cheating, Fang Zheng couldn’t do it even if he wanted to.

But with this... it finally completed the last step.

It was just like a dream.

Standing in the crowd, surrounded by blessings, Haruka couldn’t speak due to excitement. She had been busy during this time, but even so, Haruka never thought that one day she would receive an invitation to the Platinum Idol Grand Prize. Just months ago, she was just an ordinary artist, and not even a single person would buy her CD when she handed out flyers on the street to promote it.

In just a few months, such a transformation occurred...

It was simply like a dream.

After this, due to these two pieces of good news, everyone became even more excited and even started a cake fight. Of course, after smearing each other’s faces and hands with cake until it became chaotic, they began to laugh cheerfully. Haruka also joined in and had a lot of fun.

After washing her face and hands clean, Haruka finally regained some calmness.

Right! There’s also a gift for the producer!

Thinking of this, Haruka hurried back to the living room and took out a small package, which she bought a few days ago. It was intended as a Christmas gift for Fang Zheng, as gratitude for the producer’s care of them.

Miss Sora shouldn’t be unhappy, right?

Holding the gift, Haruka looked around somewhat nervously. After staying here for so long, everyone was familiar with Sora and knew that, although she looked unapproachable on the surface, she was actually quite nice.

Naturally, they also knew about the somewhat complicated relationship between Sora and Fang Zheng.

Although Amemi Majime had asked multiple times if the two were dating, they didn’t provide an answer...

At this time, Haruka saw Fang Zheng leaving the office and heading for the rooftop. So she seized the chance while others weren’t paying attention and quickly walked out of the office with the gift. After all, there were so many people here. If she gave the gift in front of others, there’s no guarantee they wouldn’t tease her. Therefore, Haruka planned to find a place where no one was around to give it to him.

However, just as Haruka planned to go to the top floor, a voice suddenly rang out.

”This is enough, right, brother? Receiving an invitation to the Platinum Idol Grand Prize is quite successful already, isn’t it?”

It was Miss Sora’s voice.

Hearing this, Haruka couldn’t help stopping. If Sora and Fang Zheng were together on the rooftop, it wouldn’t be appropriate to go up. Haruka wasn’t as thick-skinned as Meixi to give a gift to Fang Zheng in front of Sora.

As Haruka considered whether to choose another time, the following words made her pause.

”Then, after this Platinum Idol Grand Prize, it should be about time, right?”

”That’s right.”

Then came Fang Zheng’s voice.

”I spoke with President Takagi, that we would only work here for a year. Hmm... counting the time, it indeed matches up, receiving the invitation to the Platinum Idol Grand Prize at this time was really unexpected, but it also achieved the goal, didn’t it?”

”Then when are we leaving? Brother?”

”Do you want to go back? I see you get along well with them.”

”They are good kids indeed, but brother, you also have a lot to do, you can’t stay here forever, right?”

”That’s true... hmm, it seems we need to consider what to do afterward.”

”If you leave, brother, we’ll need to find another producer, right?”

”I might let someone else step in to help...”

Fang Zheng and Sora’s voices grew softer, while Haruka was completely at a loss, standing dazedly in the stairwell, her mind went blank.

The producer... is going to leave us?
