Chapter 1613: Chapter 1611: Battle in Another World

Mecha World.

Five months have passed since the battle with the Reapers ended, and under the leadership of the Chinese Federation, humanity has embarked on a whole new journey once again.

Although the Reapers destroyed all colonies within the Solar System, this also gave humanity the courage to venture beyond it. The Chinese Federation’s first colony ship has now departed from the Solar System, heading to an unknown new world.

And now, they are surveying a brand-new planet.

”This is the Nadeshiko, calling Apollo Squad, how’s the reconnaissance going?”

”This is Apollo Squad, everything is normal, no anomalies detected at the moment.”

”Understood.”

Upon hearing the response, Nadeshiko’s captain, Goto Yulika, sighed with relief.

”Thank you, Anya.”

”It’s nothing.”

The one currently piloting the VF fighter jet is none other than the former Britannia’s Knight of the Round Table, Anya Alstreim. Although she currently resides in the Heavenly Dao Palace, she occasionally returns to her world to lend a hand, and this time it’s the same. Humanity is seeking colonies beyond the Solar System, and Apollo Squad is investigating this planet.

”By the way, how is Mr. Fang Zheng doing lately?”

After finishing official matters, Yulika became curious, being someone who had crossed over to another world, she certainly knew about Fang Zheng’s situation.

”Master is not in the Heavenly Dao Palace.”

Anya replied lightly.

”Off saving another world again?”

”No.”

However, faced with Yulika’s inquiry, Anya shook her head.

”It’s said he went to build a harem.”

”... Huh? What’s going on?”

”I’m not clear either, Little Hei said so...”

”Obviously, there are already many girls in Heavenly Dao Palace... Men really do love new and fancy things.”

Yulika also lamented, but Anya clearly didn’t care, and just as she finished surveying the last area and was about to leave, suddenly, the radar signal heightened Anya’s vigilance.

”Detected unknown object.”

With a composed report, Anya immediately piloted the VF fighter jet to spiral downward, leading her squad into the canyon below, and then they discovered a strangely shaped and gigantic battleship lying silently on the ground.

”What is this? Is it an alien spacecraft?”

Upon seeing this, Asuka got excited. After joining Heavenly Dao Palace, she and Rei Ayanami joined Anya’s VF fighter squad. Having previously operated EVAs, both quickly got the hang of piloting VFs and joined Anya’s VF fighter squad without much effort. Upon hearing Anya was going to another world for assistance, Asuka dragged Rei Ayanami along persistently.

Anya did not refuse.

Faced with Asuka’s question, Anya did not answer immediately. She first opened the terminal to scan, then initiated contact.

”This is Apollo Squad, we discovered an unidentified battleship in the Alpha Star S-31 zone.”

”Is it a Reaper product?”

Upon hearing this, Goto Yulika immediately became tense. Although the Reapers had been completely wiped out, the wounds inflicted by the Reapers in Mecha World weren’t easily healed. And knowing that they’re now outside the Solar System, a place humanity has never set foot in, Yulika hoped to seek assistance from the Heavenly Dao Palace. After all, in terms of exploration of external star systems, the Heavenly Dao Palace had much more experience than they did.

This is why Anya came to help. In fact, not just them, but two destroyers and one battleship from the Azure fleet were also in the outer orbit, escorting the Chinese Federation’s colony ship.

”Search complete, no similar battleship information in the Heavenly Dao Palace database, possibly from another civilization.”

Anya pondered for a moment.

”No sign of life detected, we will continue reconnaissance.”

As she spoke, under Anya’s direction, three VFs immediately descended, transforming into robots, then landed in front of the battleship.

From the outside, this battleship was clearly abandoned long ago, not only was the hatch wide open, its surroundings were a complete mess, and although it wasn’t noticeable from above, upon approaching, it was clear this battleship had crash-landed onto the ground. Despite its overall integrity, it was still in a state of disrepair.

”Be careful.”

Anya reminded Asuka and Rei Ayanami, then cautiously wielded her gun and entered through a gaping hole piloting her VF, followed closely by Asuka and Rei Ayanami, curiously observing their surroundings.

To be honest, this battleship didn’t look aesthetically pleasing at all; from the outside, it resembled something pieced together by a student using building blocks, and the interior wasn’t much better. After staying in Heavenly Dao Palace, Asuka and Rei Ayanami had been aboard the Ark of Star Spirits, seen the Azure Battleship; compared to those, this battleship was like the difference between a 1950s jeep and a top-tier 21st-century sports car.

”Seems quite backward.”

Asuka glanced around, then grumbled, whereas Rei Ayanami quietly added.

”But these people must be much older than us.”

As Rei Ayanami spoke, she operated the mecha to turn on the lights, pointing at the door beside them — that door was twice the size of a normal battleship door, and while it was still a ”small door” for the mecha, for a human, it was considered a ”giant’s” door.

”Release the probe.”

As Anya spoke, several glowing spheres quickly dispersed from the fighter and silently disappeared into the various passages like butterflies, scanning the entire spaceship in no time.

”No signs of life detected, no bodies found, the main engine is destroyed... so far, that’s the situation.”

Looking at the data returned by the probes, Anya nodded and immediately contacted Yulika to report her findings. After listening to Anya’s report, Yulika paused for a moment before asking.

”Is there any danger?”

”It’s hard to say right now, but it seems this battleship has been abandoned.”

”I understand; I will send someone to try and repair it and see if we can gather some information.”

Yulika made her decision.

Anya didn’t say more about this, as Heavenly Dao Palace was only there to assist, not to lead; they just needed to watch from the side.

Soon, a spacecraft descended from the sky, landing near Anya and the others, from which several soldiers and researchers from the Chinese Federation disembarked, entering the spacecraft with excitement — it was only natural, as this was the first trace of civilization they had found outside the Solar System.

Soon, the investigation team sent out their report — the main engine was destroyed, obviously manually, but the power system and operating system seemed intact, and they were attempting repairs and to activate the systems to see if they could find any clues.

Before long, a low rumble was heard, and everyone saw the spaceship begin to flash its lights, as if a once dormant beast had awakened.

Asuka studied it carefully before giving her opinion.

”It’s still ugly after all.”

After that, everything seemed normal — until a nearby patrolling Javelin suddenly sent out a warning.

”Unidentified signals detected at twelve o’clock!”

”Everyone, battle stations!”

Hearing Javelin’s warning, Goto Yulika immediately tensed up.

”Notify the immigrant ships immediately, all fleets to first combat readiness! Don’t fire without my command!”

Soon, they saw hundreds of strangely shaped alien warships appearing in front of them, resembling green pods, looking odd yet numerous, and causing immense anxiety.

Then, two small alien vessels broke away from the rear and flew toward them.

”......”

Seeing this, Yulika swallowed.

”Establish contact with them, inquire about their intentions......”

However, before Yulika finished her sentence, Ruri Hoshino at the console quietly reported.

”Unknown high-energy reaction detected from the ground S-31 sector!”

Almost simultaneously, a voice suddenly sounded.

”This is the investigation team, Nadeshiko, please respond!”

”What?”

Upon hearing this, Yulika jumped in surprise and quickly opened the communication line.

”Investigation team, this is Nadeshiko, what’s happening?”

”We don’t know either!”

On the other side, the investigation team seemed quite terrified.

”Everything was fine before, but just now, the main cannon on this battleship suddenly activated by itself! It’s charging! We can’t stop it!”

”What’s going on? Quickly......”

But before Yulika could say more, the next moment, everyone saw an orange beam shoot from the ground, heading directly toward the two green alien warships. Those alien warships, clearly not expecting to be attacked, were swept by the beam, and both exploded instantly.

”......”

This is disastrous!

Watching the two orange fireballs, Yulika immediately broke into a cold sweat and had a bad feeling. Fang Zheng had warned her about being cautious during alien explorations, and the current scenario was almost the worst possible start for a first contact between two civilizations!

Thinking of this, Yulika didn’t hesitate to give the order.

”Everyone, prepare for battle!”

As soon as Yulika finished speaking, the alien fleet opposite them opened fire immediately.
