Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

Although the Might father and son felt it was a bit of a pity, they did not insist, and soon forgot about the matter.

Thus,

Duy began explaining the cultivation method of the Eight Gates to Seiryū.

Speaking of it, it was not difficult.

One only needed to let chakra follow a specific circulation route to break open specific acupoints.

As long as one could withstand the burden of breaking open those acupoints, it counted as learning the Eight Gates.

However, this step alone could eliminate the vast majority of people whose physical condition was not strong.

This required long years of tempering the body.

Only by raising the body’s physical condition to a certain level could one withstand such a burden.

Training in the Eight Gates was not difficult, it was even less difficult than a B-rank ninjutsu.

What was difficult was perseverance and persistence.

Those with weak willpower who gave up halfway could not fully bring out the true power of the Eight Gates.

”Thank you, Duy-san. I’ve already remembered it.”

Duy had only explained it once, yet Seiryū had already memorized the chakra circulation route and knew the exact positions of the eight acupoints.

Seiryū himself was a medical ninja, and the acupoints inside the body were one of the foundations of medical ninjutsu.

He had already memorized them thoroughly.

Tsunade’s medical books were not read for nothing.

He did not expect medical knowledge to be useful at this moment.

Sure enough, learning more things never hurts.

Listening as Seiryū repeated his explanation word for word, Duy gave him a thumbs-up and sighed with emotion.

”As expected of a genius!”

Seiryū’s mind really worked well.

Previously, Guy had spent several days just memorizing the positions of the specific acupoints and the chakra circulation routes.

That was still under his careful guidance.

Comparing people really was frustrating.

After a pause, Duy gave a serious reminder.

”The Eight Gates will place a huge burden on the body, so your body must slowly adapt to it.”

”If your body has not fully adapted to the burden, you must never force open a higher gate. That will cause serious damage to your body.”

”It might even leave irreversible aftereffects.”

The Eight Gates was an extremely dangerous taijutsu.

Each gate opened would bring an even greater burden to the body.

Only after fully adapting to the burden could one attempt to break through a higher gate.

If one forcibly opened a higher gate, the risk would be very high.

Moreover, this burden could only be adapted to gradually by the body.

The time cost was far higher than practicing ninjutsu.

Easy to learn, difficult to master.

”I understand.”

Seiryū nodded.

Powerful techniques either had high training difficulty or came with risks.

This was unavoidable.

Especially for a technique like the Eight Gates that could explosively increase strength, having great risks was normal.

This was not a conventional technique to begin with.

”Hahaha, good that you remember.”

Duy laughed loudly.

Seiryū was a genius and had a relatively steady personality.

He probably would not do something reckless like that.

”Duy-san, do I need to prepare anything before opening the First Gate, the Gate of Opening? I want to try it.”

Seiryū looked at Duy.

Now that he knew the training method of the Eight Gates, he naturally wanted to try it.

However, the First Gate was located in the brain.

The brain was extremely delicate.

If he accidentally damaged his brain while opening the gate, leaving behind lasting problems, that would be troublesome.

Tsunade’s treatment was really expensive. She loved taking his money, and she even wanted to cut open his brain.

He had to be cautious.

”If you ask whether there is preparation, then of course there is. That is mental preparation!”

Duy smiled and continued.

”The Gate of Opening and the Gate of Healing are located in the brain. Since it involves the brain, you must have sufficient willpower, belief, and courage.”

”As long as you do not hesitate or feel fear, you can open the First Gate.”

”Your physical condition surpasses others of your age. The burden of the First Gate is not a big problem for you. You might even try opening the Second Gate.”

Previously, when Seiryū trained intensely with them, he had already noticed the uniqueness of Seiryū’s body.

Recovery ability, endurance, stamina, every aspect was outstanding.

He was a good seedling for training in taijutsu.

Otherwise, he would not have said Seiryū had strong talent in taijutsu.

”Then I’ll try opening the First Gate first.”

Seiryū was somewhat eager.

He mobilized the chakra within his body and began circulating it along the specific route, rushing toward the acupoint in the brain that represented the Gate of Opening.

A dull sound that only Seiryū could hear rang out.

It felt as though some kind of shackle had been broken.

For a brief moment, Seiryū felt dazed, his pupils slightly focusing.

The next moment,

Seiryū discovered that he had entered a mysterious state, and his control over his body became even more precise.

The First Gate, the Gate of Opening, removed the brain’s restrictions and allowed the body to display one hundred percent of its physical capability. It placed a heavy burden on the body and greatly consumed stamina.

Seiryū lightly tapped the ground and used Shunpo. His figure left a blurry afterimage where he stood, appearing ten meters away.

Then he flashed again and returned to his original spot.

”The amplification to taijutsu is quite significant. It truly is a powerful technique.”

Seiryū revealed a smile.

With a simple judgment,

the speed of his Shunpo had increased by at least ten percent.

This was already a large increase, considering that only the First Gate had been opened.

”I can still continue.”

Seiryū sensed the condition of his body and found that the burden was within a tolerable range.

Then he would continue.

This was not his limit yet.

”Second Gate, Gate of Healing, open!”

Seiryū mobilized the chakra within his body and rushed toward the acupoint of the Gate of Healing in his brain.

With a soft popping sound,

the acupoint of the Second Gate was also broken open.

As the Second Gate opened, veins bulged at Seiryū’s temples, and blood vessels slightly protruded on his arms.

At this moment,

Seiryū keenly noticed that he had lost awareness of stamina consumption. At the same time, a slight pain appeared in his body.

It was not very intense, still less painful than taking a punch from Tsunade.

It was within the body’s tolerance.

Continue.

”Third Gate, Gate of Life, open!”

Seiryū let out a low shout as chakra broke open the acupoint of the Third Gate.

The Third Gate opened.

The blood flow within Seiryū’s body accelerated, his skin became flushed and gradually turned red.

A faint green chakra that seemed almost tangible also covered the surface of his body.

This time, the muscles throughout Seiryū’s body trembled slightly, and a tearing pain spread through them.

This was the manifestation of muscles exceeding their load.

Feeling the condition of his body, Seiryū muttered to himself.

”The Third Gate is the limit. But this kind of increase is indeed powerful.”

With sufficient physical condition, training the Eight Gates truly achieved twice the result with half the effort.

It was also due to Seiryū’s own talent. [Hakuda Talent Enhancement] played a huge role at this moment.

The Eight Gates was a taijutsu, and taijutsu was Hakuda.

All these factors combined.

Allowed Seiryū to instantly open three gates on his first attempt.

Moreover, the increase was indeed exaggerated. Seiryū judged that after opening three gates, he could probably completely overwhelm his version without opening the three gates.
