Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

The girl’s blush surpassed everything. Her shy expression spoke volumes.

The shy Rin looked incredibly adorable.

However, Obito did not look impressed. Instead, he stared blankly at the red-faced Rin.

It was as if he had witnessed something unbelievable.

W-what’s going on?

Why did Seiryū reach out to stroke Rin’s hair?

And Rin was actually showing such a shy expression?

Inexplicably, a strange emotion welled up in Obito’s heart, as if something had been taken away.

Rin had never shown such an expression to him.

This kind of expression... it seemed she only showed it when facing Seiryū?

Was Seiryū... special to Rin?

No!

That’s not it!

Obito refused to believe such a thing from the bottom of his heart.

Rin was a kind person. This was just an unintentional act by Seiryū, and Seiryū apologized.

With Rin’s kind personality, it was impossible for her to blame Seiryū.

When Minato-sensei praised Rin before, she also became very shy.

That was just Rin’s personality.

She gets shy easily.

It wasn’t because of Seiryū’s intimate gesture that she was so shy.

Right, it was just an accident.

Seiryū had always had the habit of rubbing Kurenai’s head. Just now was probably a habitual movement, mistaking Rin for Kurenai.

Rin must know this too.

It was an accident.

Obito felt his guess was correct. It had to be.

Yet for some reason, the emotion in his heart still didn’t go away, and the expression on his face turned somewhat strange—furrowed brows, doubt, confusion, deep thought.

Under the stimulation of these strange emotions, Obito didn’t notice.

A flash of red appeared in his originally pitch-black eyes.

And a single black tomoe adorned the crimson pupils, spinning slightly.

This was the Sharingan.

”Eh? Obito, your eyes—”

Because she was so shy and didn’t dare to look directly at Seiryū, Rin wanted to break the somewhat awkward atmosphere.

Naturally, she tried to start a conversation with the other person present, Obito.

As a result, when she turned her head, she noticed Obito’s expression looked quite strange.

What surprised her most was...

At this moment, Obito’s eyes were actually crimson?

That was the Uchiha Clan’s bloodline limit, the Sharingan.

Obito actually awakened his Sharingan at this moment?

How could it happen exactly now?

”Hmm?”

Hearing Rin’s exclamation, Seiryū also subconsciously looked at Obito and saw the One-Tomoe Sharingan in his eyes.

Seiryū couldn’t help but mutter to himself, ’He couldn’t have been stimulated by my action just now, could he? That actually worked?’

The prerequisite for the Uchiha Clan to awaken their eyes was emotional stimulation.

Clearly, the emotional fluctuations in Obito’s heart just now must have been intense enough to awaken the Sharingan.

However...

Was the impact of his habitual action on Obito’s heart really that strong?

Even this could trigger Obito’s awakening?

Well, thinking about it carefully, it was actually reasonable.

In the original story, this guy was an Uchiha madman who jumped straight from Two-Tomoe to Mangekyō. Now, awakening his eyes out of jealousy because of an ’intimate gesture’ toward Rin wasn’t surprising.

The Uchiha Clan had always been a neurotic clan in his mind.

Seiryū raised an eyebrow at Obito and asked knowingly, ”Not bad, you actually awakened the Sharingan at a time like this. How did you do it?”

”Eh? Do what? What happened to me?”

Obito finally snapped out of his deep thought and looked at Seiryū and Rin in confusion.

He didn’t immediately notice the change in his eyes.

But he quickly reacted.

Everything before him seemed clearer now, with higher resolution and frame rate.

Some details he would have ignored before were now captured clearly by his eyes.

”This is—”

”I’ve awakened my eyes!?”

As a member of the Uchiha Clan, Obito naturally knew the abilities of the Sharingan.

Everything becoming clear meant...

He had awakened the Sharingan.

The excitement of awakening his eyes washed away that strange emotion.

Before his descent into darkness, Obito was fundamentally a relatively clumsy and not-so-bright person.

If he weren’t, he wouldn’t have failed to see that Rin had feelings for Seiryū.

Obito had already convinced himself that what happened earlier was just an accident, a trivial matter not worth thinking about, so his emotions settled quickly.

All that remained was the joy of awakening his eyes.

The smile on Obito’s face couldn’t be held back, and he finally laughed out loud. ”Hahaha, I’ve awakened my eyes too! I’ve finally caught up to you guys!!”

Back at the Ninja Academy...

Awakening the Sharingan had always been Obito’s goal and wish.

He felt that only then could he catch up to those geniuses.

Now he had finally done it.

Catching up to Kakashi and Seiryū, whom he regarded as rivals, he believed he wouldn’t fall behind anyone in the future.

He would let Rin know that he wasn’t weak either.

One day, he would defeat Kakashi and defeat Seiryū.

Seiryū: ”....”

Obito was still too confident.

Never mind a mere One-Tomoe Sharingan. He had even defeated an Uchiha with a Two-Tomoe Sharingan two years ago.

Rin: ”....”

Obito was still as confident as ever.

However, she was also happy for Obito. Awakening his eyes had become an obsession for him, and now he had finally done it.

”Awakened? What’s awakened?”

Kakashi, who had gone back to his room to pack, returned at this moment and was confused upon hearing Obito’s words.

Then he saw the One-Tomoe Sharingan in Obito’s eyes. Stunned for a moment, he said in surprise, ”Obito, you’ve awakened the Sharingan?”

Obito had been talking about this for over two years in front of them, and now he had finally done it.

It was worth celebrating.

Hopefully, he wouldn’t keep nagging them about it anymore.

Obito was very satisfied with Kakashi’s surprise, and the smile on his face grew even brighter. ”That’s right, I’ve already awakened the Sharingan. From today on, I won’t be defeated by you guys so easily anymore!!”

Kakashi: ”....”

”Then keep it up.”

Kakashi didn’t comment on Obito’s confidence.

It wasn’t like he hadn’t fought against Uchiha who had awakened their eyes.

Wasn’t Ryota, with one eye at one tomoe and the other at two, also no match for him?

Obito had only just awakened a One-Tomoe Sharingan. It was impossible for him to be a real threat.

The only ones among the students of the same year who could be considered true rivals were Seiryū and Guy.
