Naruto: Becoming the Soul King

”Bad woman, give me a straight answer. Don’t just keep frowning like that, it’s making me really nervous.”

Inside a tree hollow.

Seiryū lay there like a vegetable, staring at Tsunade’s tightly furrowed brows.

That familiar feeling came back.

You do not fear a smiling doctor, you fear one with a serious face.

Was his injury really that serious?

To actually make Tsunade look so troubled.

”Relax, you won’t die.”

Tsunade’s brows did not relax as she continued a more meticulous examination.

Seiryū’s injury was a serious matter, and she did not dare to be careless.

If it could not be completely cured and left lasting effects, then this genius would be finished.

”Let’s make this clear first. If you can’t cure me, I’m sticking with you for the rest of my life, eating your food and drinking your drinks. You’ll have to support me forever.”

Seiryū sighed.

A new account, seriously, do not mess this up.

Hmm, wait.

Didn’t he know Medical Ninjutsu himself?

No, it should be called Kaido.

He almost forgot.

Based on the principles and application of Kaido: Withered Wood Greets Spring,

Seiryū could roughly judge that its effect should not be weak.

After all, Withered Wood Greets Spring sounded powerful, like as long as you were not completely dead, it could bring you back.

Tsunade fell silent.

At a time like this, and this kid was still being so unserious.

”I have great faith in you. If you can’t cure it, then your title as the strongest Medical Ninja in the shinobi world would be a bit undeserved.”

”Don’t stay silent, say something. Calming a patient’s anxiety is a required course for Medical Ninjas. You’re being so unprofessional.”

”Shut up and stop disturbing my train of thought.”

A vein throbbed on Tsunade’s temple as she gritted her teeth at him. ”Say one more word and I’ll seal your mouth.”

Seiryū immediately fell silent. This bad woman really would do it.

”Hmph.”

Tsunade shot him a glare and snorted softly.

Then she continued her examination.

A few minutes later, she slowly let out a breath and finally showed a relaxed expression.

”Not bad. Although the injury is serious, your physique is special and your recovery ability is stronger. It can be completely cured without leaving any lasting effects. At most, you will need to rest for a few months.”

Tsunade felt somewhat relieved.

Fortunately, Seiryū was from the Uzumaki Clan and possessed powerful vitality. Although the injury was severe, it could be fully healed. If it had been an ordinary person, they would already be crippled.

The worry in Kurenai’s eyes finally faded, replaced by joy.

”Really? That’s wonderful.”

Shizune also let out a long breath and smiled.

”I knew Tsunade-sama would have a way.”

”Wow, as expected of Konoha’s Princess, Tsunade-sama. You didn’t betray my trust.”

Seiryū raised a hand and gave her a thumbs-up, then hesitated.

”But isn’t resting for a few months too long? It will delay my training.”

”You’re injured like this and still thinking about training?”

Tsunade glared at him, then explained,

”That estimate already takes into account that you are from the Uzumaki Clan and have strong vitality.”

”Medical Ninjutsu works by stimulating cell activation to accelerate healing, but meridians are more fragile than ordinary cells. Your chakra pathways are already damaged and cannot withstand rough treatment..”

”Medical Ninjutsu can only assist. Most of the recovery depends on your Uzumaki Clan’s self-healing ability.”

”It’s not that Medical Ninjutsu cannot be used to speed up recovery, but there is some risk. In this situation, it is better to be cautious.”

Medical Ninjutsu accelerated wound healing by stimulating cell activity with Chakra.

It was a relatively rough method.

His damaged meridians could not handle that kind of strain.

At most, it would cost some time. A safe and stable method was naturally better.

”How can Medical Ninjutsu be so inconvenient? It should heal you as long as you’re not dead. Things like regenerating severed limbs or being split in half should be easy to treat.”

Seiryū looked at her with disdain.

”For such a minor injury like damaged chakra pathways, and you can’t cure it instantly? That’s too weak.”

”Of course such Medical Ninjutsu exists. You just haven’t learned it yet.”

Tsunade glanced at him and sneered.

”If you had learned my Creation Rebirth: Strength of a Hundred Technique, forget damaged chakra pathways. Even if your heart were pierced, you could recover instantly.”

If this injury happened to her, activating Creation Rebirth: Strength of a Hundred Technique would heal it immediately.

It was just that this Medical Ninjutsu only worked on oneself and could not be used on others.

Seiryū curled his lip.

”That’s because you didn’t teach it. If you had, maybe I would have learned it already. Then we wouldn’t need all this trouble.”

”It still hurts so much I’m grimacing.”

”I’ve decided. I’m going to develop a new Medical Ninjutsu myself. I can’t wait a few months. Time is very precious right now.”

Rest for a few months?

The Third Great Ninja War was only a few years away.

How could he afford to waste that much time?

He would not say he was racing against the clock, but he definitely felt time was not enough.

Hearing this, Tsunade laughed, her smile playful.

”You’re quite the dreamer, kid. Medical Ninjutsu isn’t like other elemental techniques.”

”I admit your talent is strong, but Medical Ninjutsu is different. Without sufficient medical knowledge, you cannot develop it.”

”Most Medical Ninjutsu were not developed by one person alone. They were the result of collective research. Even I have only developed one, Creation Rebirth: Strength of a Hundred Technique.”

She acknowledged his talent. It might not be inferior to the Second Hokage’s.

But for him to develop a brand new Medical Ninjutsu by himself?

She did not believe it.

The difficulty was even greater than developing new Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, or Sealing Techniques.

Those techniques could be analyzed and reverse-engineered, and new ones created through changes in form and nature transformation.

Very difficult, but possible for geniuses.

Medical Ninjutsu was different. It required solid medical knowledge as a foundation.

Every Medical Ninja relied on practical experience. Experience was the most important thing.

And Seiryū clearly lacked enough practical experience to develop a new Medical Ninjutsu.

Seiryū wore an expression that said you don’t understand geniuses, and you don’t understand me.

”I’m a genius. Don’t compare me to others. What others can’t do, I might be able to.”

Tsunade crossed her arms and smiled.

”Then let’s make a bet.”

”A bet?”

Seiryū’s expression turned strange.

He was guaranteed to win.

Tsunade smiled playfully.

”If you can develop a new Medical Ninjutsu within a year, no, within six months, I will teach you the Yin Seal ahead of schedule.”

She had planned to teach him the Yin Seal anyway.

It was just that he was still young and his body had not fully matured.

It was too early to start now.

Hearing this, Seiryū looked at her with disdain.

”Tch, using something you already planned to teach me as a bet? That’s so like you.”

”Then what do you want to bet?”

”You really want to bet with me?”

”Of course.”

”Alright then, don’t regret it.”

”So what’s the bet?”

”Let me think. If you lose, you wash my feet. No, I wash your feet.”

”Fine. If I lose, I’ll use that as the stake. Washing someone’s feet.”
