Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

He Chao followed Li Yu and said, ”This person is called Zhang San.”

Li Yu heard the name and immediately turned to look at He Chao.

He Chao said awkwardly, ”I’ve investigated, it should be his real name. This name, um, is somewhat casual.”

”Continue,” Li Yu said calmly.

He Chao continued, ”He is in the Cooperative Personnel team, Sha Wenji’s team, 39 years old. He now has a 13-year-old daughter and no other relatives. According to Sha Wenji, his father was bitten by a zombie and died half a year ago.”

”Additionally, I heard from their captain that Sha Wenji is quite good, has a good relationship with others in the team, so everyone takes care of them, father and daughter.”

......

Li Yu listened carefully and brought He Chao to the wall.

He Chao pointed to a man, sunburned to a dark yellow, at the construction site and said to Li Yu, ”That’s him.”

Li Yu looked over and saw the man with muscles, lacking the frail intellectual demeanor.

In Doomsday, this is how it is. No matter how powerful you were before Doomsday, after Doomsday, if you don’t have enough strength and don’t know how to adapt, it’s hard to survive.

The man was carrying a heavy template, dragging it to the foundation below the wall. Not far from him, a little girl was tying rebar.

He Chao pointed to the little girl and said, ”That’s his daughter, Zhang Yuan.”

Li Yu watched Zhang San carrying the template, slowly walking down the dug steps to the foundation below.

He said to He Chao, ”For now, you can go down and get busy.”

He Chao nodded and then went down.

Li Yu watched Zhang San disappear into the foundation, pondering.

After He Chao went down, Li Yu went to the duty room to find Second Uncle.

He happened to find Uncle there too.

So he said to them, ”Second Uncle, Uncle, I think the timing is mature now. He Chao just told me that we’ve found an engineer for the three-electric system. I think we can start gradually establishing the Power Research Institute.”

Second Uncle raised his head and said to Li Yu, ”Is he Extra Staff or Cooperative Personnel?”

”Cooperative Personnel, he’s outside now. Although his capability might not be enough, I think we can start establishing it.”

Second Uncle pondered for a while, nodded, and said, ”Hmm, the appearance of the Zombie Generator is significant. Currently, electricity production is surplus and wasted. If we can research something based on this unlimited electricity, it would be highly beneficial for the base.”

Uncle also said, ”Since there is such a person, should we use the special talent absorption method, or safely let him accumulate contributions until they reach a certain level before bringing him in?”

”That’s indeed a question. After all, he is just a Cooperative Personnel and hasn’t been in contact with our Big Camphor Tree Base for long, has he? By the way, which team is he from?” Second Uncle asked.

He often deals with Extra Staff, Cooperative Personnel, and remembers leaders of various teams.

Li Yu said, ”He’s in Sha Wenji’s team, I have some impression of them, haven’t they been cooperating with us for half a year now?”

Second Uncle squinted his eyes to recall, then pulled out a notebook, checked through it, nodded, and said, ”I have an impression of Sha Wenji, their team has over fifty points, close to becoming Extra Staff. Sha Wenji, despite looking fierce and bald, is quite loyal. Every time I exchange grain with him, he divides it fairly.”

Li Yu hesitated for a moment and said to the two, ”I want to recruit him specially, what do you think?”

Second Uncle saw Li Yu’s hesitant expression and said, ”Anyway, building the Third Outer City still needs time. Why not assess him, let him be in charge of the electrical aspect of the Third Outer City construction, and see if he has real skills.”

Uncle also said, ”I agree with your Second Uncle’s idea. Although we urgently need talent, we can’t lose our rhythm. After all, we don’t know him well enough yet; rashly bringing him in, where do we place him? Moreover, if he performs well during the Third Outer City construction, bringing him in would be very reasonable!”

Li Yu heard them both say this and gave up the idea of letting him join immediately.

Second Uncle and Uncle were right, it is necessary to see if this person truly has skills. Otherwise, bringing him in only to find he’s a fraud, how do we deal with it, send him away? Kill him?

Not very suitable.

So Li Yu said to the two, ”Okay, we’ll observe him some more. Meanwhile, I’ll talk to Ding Jiu and have him make arrangements.”

Both Second Uncle and Uncle expressed no issues.

After communicating all this with the two, Li Yu left the duty room.

He was somewhat emotional; indeed, discussing with Second Uncle and the others is beneficial.

Being just one person, it’s impossible to consider everything comprehensively. That’s when discussion with others is needed.

So he took out the walkie-talkie and instructed Ding Jiu and He Chao about it.

He stood on the wall, watching as He Chao and Ding Jiu found Zhang San and talked to him about the Third Outer City, letting him handle the electrical part.

Li Yu, from the wall, clearly saw Zhang San being somewhat stunned upon hearing the news, but soon a smile appeared on his face.

Other team members around Zhang San came over to congratulate him.

Although Ding Jiu and He Chao didn’t mention rewards, Zhang San and his team knew that the Big Camphor Tree Base is fair in its actions, letting him handle the Third Outer City’s electrical matters definitely won’t shortchange him.

Li Yu sat at the door of the west wall’s duty room, drinking water, observing Zhang San carefully.

He saw Zhang San, after receiving the task, paused for a few minutes.

Immediately, he found Ding Jiu, talked to him for a few minutes, then left and looked at the transport vehicle for a long time.

”Director Li, that Zhang San wants rollers, steel wires, motors, power batteries, electrical control systems... and he wants six batteries,” Ding Jiu’s voice came through.

Li Yu was a bit puzzled, what exactly does this guy want to do.

So he said, ”Okay, I’ll send someone over later. Additionally, if he needs any help, assist him.”

......

Three hours later.

Li Yu, surprised, looked at him and saw that he had made a cage welded with steel plates, creating a commonly used hoist at the construction site.

To know the Third Outer City’s wall, the foundation is more than ten meters high.

They are currently using a pulley hoist, which is unstable and requires manpower.

But Zhang San made this, greatly saving labor.

Li Yu’s mouth formed a slight smile, ”Not bad, he’s a talent.”
