Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

”Sister Zuo, have you made up your mind? Which task are we going to execute?” the girl with the large bust beside her asked.

Zuo Ruxue looked at the exchange list on the paper, hesitated, and said, ”The flood has just ended, and the situation outside is unclear. Let’s see the situation after we go out and decide then.”

The girl with the large bust thought Zuo Ruxue made a good point, so she nodded and said, ”Alright.”

They queued up to receive the weapons and cars they had previously submitted.

The main gate opened.

The crowd flowed out from the base like fish.

Some people had made plans early on and headed for the distance as soon as they got out.

Some returned to the area around Big Camphor Tree Base, cleaning up the mud and setting up camp around the base.

The reason some people did this was because in the food exchange, there was a construction participation project that provided three meals a day.

These three meals could be exchanged for the portion of food that Big Camphor Tree Base had given them earlier in proportion.

For example, they could skip one of the three meals a day and use that remaining meal to offset what they owed before.

This method was the most secure for them.

However, when they came out of Big Camphor Tree Base, they realized that the sun had dried mud everywhere, even on the highways.

In the mountains and forests, many trees had toppled.

Zuo Ruxue led her group back to a house on the country road.

This house had been completely flooded.

Now it looked filthy and dilapidated.

As they walked into the courtyard, they saw a wooden door that had swollen from being submerged and was now blistered and peeling after two days of sun exposure.

Zuo Ruxue rolled up her sleeves and said to the crowd, ”Ladies, let’s clean up our place!”

They pushed the door open and saw the house inside, filled with various pieces of furniture that were scattered and even some covered in mud.

The girl with the large bust looked worried; just cleaning this place would take them most of the day.

.......

At Big Camphor Tree Base, aside from the groups of Zhu Xiao and Guo Peng, all extra and cooperative personnel went out.

Third Uncle also communicated with Old Qin and went with Li Yuan to the basement to get the equipment needed for the departure tomorrow.

Since Third Uncle thought both of them were going out in an armored motorhome, he decided to bring more bullets and guns.

Ten thousand rounds of ammunition would mostly stay in the vehicle.

Li Yu also found Ding Jiu, Father Li, Xiao Qian, and others, telling them that they could start constructing the Third Outer City tomorrow.

The most essential elements in constructing the Third Outer City are concrete and steel.

The base currently has over two hundred tons of steel, which can be used for now. As for concrete, the main components are cement, sand, and stone.......

Cement can be handled by Fu Sheng and his team, as the Big Camphor Tree Base has already achieved its own cement production.

Sand and stone have been arranged in the form of point exchange, allowing those extra and cooperative personnel to figure out how to obtain them.

Ding Jiu was a bit taken aback by Li Yu’s decisiveness to start tomorrow, but after thinking about it, realized there really wasn’t much to prepare.

If everything had to be prepared in advance, it would likely take several months.

By working and preparing materials simultaneously, the progress would be faster.

After meeting with Ding Jiu, Li Yu went to Outer City.

This was in response to Third Uncle’s mention of increasing Big Camphor Tree Base’s control over Xin City and even the entire Gan City.

Previously, those stationed in Xin City were mainly Deng Ben and others, but now if they wanted to expand the base’s influence, it was necessary to increase the personnel stationed outside.

At the very least, they needed to divide into four points.

A north-side temporary station for Big Camphor Tree Base, a temporary station in Xin City, a point between Xin City and Big Camphor Tree Base, and one from Xin City to Gan City.

Each of these points would need about three people, totaling 12 people.

Li Yu decided to adopt a shift system, letting Luo, Old Bi, Ju Tianrui, Deng Ben, Ah Guang, Xiao Jun, Lao Yi, Lao Zhou, Ahong, and others patrol different points in rotation.

They wouldn’t just stay at a single point, but each day one person would lead three or four people to patrol each point, using walkie-talkies to cover tens of kilometers and point repeaters to extend the range.

In addition, Second Uncle issued walkie-talkies today to dozens of cooperative and ten or so extra staff groups.

Alongside the fixed four points and the mobile outer city patrol teams, as well as dozens of mobile or fixed cooperative personnel,

this setup allows for comprehensive coverage of Xin City.

Each cooperative personnel group acts as the eyes and ears of Big Camphor Tree Base,

enabling them to quickly respond to any anomalies or intrusions by outsiders.

.......

At Orange Continent.

Because this location was near the Xiangjiang River, it was severely impacted by the flood.

The floodwaters were high, reaching up to a hundred meters, and Gan Hu and the others had to wait a long time before the waters receded.

Seeing the floodwaters finally recede, Gan Hu and Yao Zuo were eager to return to the Western Alliance.

Their food supply was down to less than five days’ worth, even at the minimum allotment per person.

On the top floor of Puhua Building.

Gan Hu looked at the already dry ground below the building after the past two days of sun exposure and said to Yao Zuo, ”Should we start withdrawing?”
