Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

”Brother Hu, I’m seeing this fuel, and something doesn’t seem right. There’s no gasoline smell at all, and it looks way too thin,” someone muttered.

Gan Hu took a careful look and said, ”This gasoline is mixed with water, but that’s normal. After all, it’s been soaking in water for so long, it’s good enough that it’s so well-sealed; otherwise, the gasoline inside would be even thinner. It’s good enough that we even have it.”

Yao Zuo nodded, having just recovered from the excitement of discovering that there was gasoline in the car earlier.

Even though it was a full tank, most of it was water. If you really calculate it, the gasoline inside would probably be less than half.

”Never mind, let’s keep looking and see if we can find some more,” Gan Hu said.

They then spent another hour searching around the area.

The cars they brought over were all filled with gasoline, and they even left fuel for the return trip, packed in barrels and kept on the cars, but they hadn’t seen a single barrel.

Finally, after searching for two hours, they found one that had just rolled into a narrow crevice.

They checked it out and found that this barrel was particularly well-sealed, and none of the gasoline inside had been seeped into by water.

After discovering this barrel of oil, the group was noticeably much happier.

They knew very well that relying solely on foot would not get them back to the Western Alliance; they only had a few days’ worth of food left.

If they didn’t replenish their food, they probably would starve to death halfway there.

They searched until noon and found no more of the cars they had brought over, no gasoline, and no cars still capable of starting.

They had been submerged by the flood for nearly a month, and with two years in the Doomsday, the cars here were basically non-functional.

So they stopped searching and instead began walking away from the Orange Continent.

Gan Hu carried a black backpack and held a cold weapon in his hand, walking at the forefront.

Walking alongside him was Yao Zuo, who held a map, looking for directions.

After a great flood, the surrounding buildings had changed significantly, making it impossible for them to rely on memory to find their way back.

”This way,” Yao Zuo pointed to the right and said.

Gan Hu nodded slightly and took the lead in that direction.

After two hours of walking, they finally made it out of the city center.

Seeing the uneven national road, with dogtail grass over twenty centimeters high.

Gan Hu sat right down on the ground, panting heavily, and said, ”Let’s sit for a bit, phew.”

The two men behind them were even more exhausted and out of breath, taking turns with the small cart they just found, pushing that barrel of gasoline had worn them out.

The group took a break here and ate some food.

Looking at the city that had once been submerged by the flood, they sighed with regret.

In this once towering city, skyscrapers had become symbols of ruins.

Their outer walls were peeling off, leaving only the remaining steel and concrete skeletons, like an abandoned giant beast.

Some buildings collapsed on the ground, forming huge piles, like the cruel mockery of natural forces.

The streets were littered with debris and rubble, like the traces of war. Several vehicles, devastated by the water currents, were scattered beneath the ruined skyscrapers, silently witnessing the city’s state.

”We need to hurry up and find a working car, otherwise, it’s too exhausting,” Gan Hu said while pounding his legs.

Since morning till now, except for the half-hour rest when they ran downstairs, they hadn’t rested at all.

Yao Zuo glanced around and then pulled out the map again. After thinking for a moment, he said, ”This area is relatively low-lying, the floodwaters must have submerged all the vehicles; it’s basically hard to find any usable cars.

Why not, let’s not rush towards the base’s direction for now and look around here, see if there’s a slightly higher ground, let’s head there first and find a usable car.”

”Sounds good to me,” Gan Hu said, thinking they had rested enough, he stood up directly.

”Which way to go?” Gan Hu asked.

.......

On the other side.

After leaving Shaosh City, Third Uncle and others headed southward.

Once on the Guang Expressway, the road condition improved somewhat, and the car speed finally broke fifty kilometers per hour.

From morning till afternoon, they made it near Huadu.

As dusk approached, they had no choice but to stay here for another night.

It had been two days since they left the Big Camphor Tree Base.

And they were now just near the outskirts of Guang City.

Standing on the car roof, Third Uncle watched Guo Peng and others busily building defenses as darkness gradually swallowed the light, feeling unmoved.

.......

And less than a hundred kilometers away from them, a man and his dog were coming from the east of Shenzhen.

A few days ago, while searching for supplies in Shenzhen, Ant encountered a group of people who, upon seeing the German Shepherd Xiao Hei, greedily wanted to kill the dog for meat.

This group drove down, surrounding Ant and Xiao Hei, intending to rob Ant and slaughter Xiao Hei for dog meat.

Little did they know that Ant’s combat skills were so fierce that he chopped them up with a knife.

However, in the battle, Xiao Hei was stabbed by these people.

The dog’s back had a slash, and seeing this, Ant rushed over to save Xiao Hei.

Seeing how ferocious Ant was, this group drove away.

After treating Xiao Hei’s wound, Ant watched the direction those people left feeling very annoyed.

The audacity to bully him made him feel a bit indignant.
