Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Ding Jiu hesitated for a moment and said to everyone, ”Uh, regarding the steel supply, it is estimated to be insufficient. The area of the Second Outer City is 60 mu, and Director Li’s previous plan was to construct 150 mu for the Third Outer City, right?”

Li Yu nodded and replied, ”That’s correct. We’ll just encompass the western mountain and that flat land inside it, which means we’ll encircle the entire western wall.

The First and Second Outer Cities are to the south, surrounding the Inner City entirely and close to the gates.

The eastern side is a cliff.

If the Third Outer City encloses the western wall of the Inner City, the security of the Inner City will be greatly enhanced.

Therefore, anyone coming from outside, or zombies, must pass through the Outer City before they can threaten the Inner City.”

150 mu, that’s no small number.

But now, the natural disaster has just passed, and the temperature is quite suitable.

Within the base, the greenhouses are stably producing food.

If the base wants to continue expanding in the future, then now is undoubtedly the right opportunity.

The expansion of the base is not that simple.

Normally, building a base might go like this:

First, have a large enough group of people. The more people there are, the greater the strength. Then gather these people together, start constructing the base, cultivate farmland, and then harvest food, leading to a positive cycle.

However, the uncertainty in the post-apocalyptic environment, combined with the certainty that people need to eat, creates a huge conflict.

If you bring in many survivors, they need food to work, right? But in a post-apocalyptic world, which base is wealthy enough to provide so much food? Originally, they were building a base to produce food.

If you don’t provide food, who will work for you?

Secondly, during the construction of the base, what do you do when zombies come out at night?

This is an unavoidable and unsolvable issue.

Unless there is initially a very solid, tall wall, combined with sufficient food, with a small population and less pressure on food, only then can a positive cycle be established.

This is how the Big Camphor Tree Base was built, with Li Yu using the lottery winnings of thirty million to leverage billions to create the base, accumulating enough food.

And after the apocalypse erupted, he sought ways to gather various supplies, and later, to speed up the process, he even brilliantly came up with the cooperation model. With minimal food, they exchanged for a large workforce to help search for various resources for the Big Camphor Tree Base.

All of this laid a solid foundation for the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Building a base from scratch is incredibly difficult.

That’s why, after leaving the Western Alliance, the Zhou Family, after careful consideration, chose to follow the Liu Family to Sanshan Village.

There was no other reason; it was simply because building a base was too difficult.

......

Under Li Yu’s influence, they all developed a logic: to expand.

First, ensure a stable and sufficient food supply.

Where does this come from?

It needs an adequately stable planting environment, otherwise, it could easily be affected by natural disasters or zombies.

An adequately stable planting environment requires the construction of very strong walls....

Li Yu’s words once again clarified the development logic for everyone. This set of logic made everyone deeply understand how fortunate they were.

Second Uncle spoke up and said, ”Xiao Yu is right, while steel structure walls are quick to build, as Xiao Yu just said, besides not being waterproof, they are not fireproof either. If the flame temperature is high enough, they can easily collapse.”

Li Yu nodded and said, ”Alright, let’s have a show of hands to vote. For the construction of the Third Outer City, does anyone have any objections? Does anyone think it’s currently unsuitable for construction?”

Sitting in the corner, Old Lv had some complaints in his heart: It’s all things you’ve already discussed as a family, already decided, and now you’re talking about voting.

In the core meeting within the Big Camphor Tree Base, besides some relatives of Li Yu, there were also a few members who joined later.

Such as: Dapao, Yang Tianlong, Old Lv, Ding Jiu, Song Min, Bai Jie, Lai Dongsheng, An Ya, and others.

Despite Old Lv’s internal complaints, he was the first to raise his hand and express his stance. At this moment, he stood up with a smile and said, ”I support building the Third Outer City.”

”I support it too.” Ding Jiu raised his hand and said.

”I support it.”

”I support it.”

......

Li Yu looked at the raised hands and nodded with satisfaction, saying, ”Unanimously approved. Since that’s the case, the matter of constructing the Third Outer City is settled.”

Then, Li Yu continued to speak:

”Next, let’s discuss the planning for building the Third Outer City. Once we have the plan, we can issue tasks to the extra staff and cooperative personnel according to the construction plan.”

”Oh, by the way, Ding Jiu, after the meeting, based on the plan for building the Third Outer City, take Xiao Qian and organize a materials inventory. Then let He Chao distribute it to the extra staff and cooperative personnel to mobilize their efforts for gathering.”

Ding Jiu sat up straight and replied, ”All right.”

After speaking, he quickly opened his notebook and noted the task to avoid forgetting later.

Li Yu continued, ”The construction of the Third Outer City is confirmed. So let’s return to the earlier topic. I still maintain my original opinion: try to use reinforced concrete construction methods. Let’s see if you have any other opinions or better alternatives.”

Li Yu’s father, Li Hongyuan, who had previously done some engineering, spoke up at this point, saying, ”Let me talk about the pros and cons of both.
