Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Over a thousand zombies could be seen, densely covering the small square outside the steel factory.

”It’s fine, these animals can’t move the truck. Come down. Be careful.” Old Qin said to Zhu Xiao.

With this big truck in the way and no rain lately, the zombies’ sensitivity is low, making them unable to climb or stack, so this level of defense is sufficient.

However, there must always be someone on guard here, in case any zombies slip through the cracks.

Time flowed slowly by.

After Old Qin was done with his shift for the first half of the night, Third Uncle came over to replace him.

When Third Uncle woke up, he saw that Ant was sleeping soundly, so he got up stealthily without waking him.

Night passed.

A night not without disturbances, but no major incidents occurred.

By daylight, when the sun rose, the zombies outside the big iron gate had all wandered off, returning to dark, damp corners.

But the zombies crushed under the gate were still alive, yet Third Uncle and the others didn’t lift the big iron gate.

Instead, they drove right over it and left.

They already loaded the steel onto the truck yesterday, so they could leave directly when the sun came out today.

As the trucks weighing tens of tons rolled over the iron gate, the zombies beneath it, previously not dead, were turned into meat paste, thoroughly dead.

The weather is nice today, with fish-scale clouds in the sky, suggesting good weather for the next two days.

Old Qin was driving the machine room truck at the front of the convoy, followed by Zhu Xiao and others, along with several motorhomes and cargo trucks seized from the industrial park, all taken along.

Unfortunately, not much gasoline and diesel were found in the industrial park, only some extracted from their fuel tanks.

Third Uncle sat in the truck, looking at the rearview mirror, his mind occupied with a thought.

Energy.

Each sortie requires a lot of diesel, which generally has a shelf life of only 4 years unopened, much shorter once opened.

Once the diesel runs out or exceeds its shelf life, it’ll be troublesome to go outside.

Although there are some new energy vehicles now, most of them are SUVs or sedans, not suitable for transporting goods.

”Perhaps Xiao Yu already had a plan.” Third Uncle squinted his eyes, recalling Li Yu’s past exchange list where cooperative and extra staff were tasked with listing electric vehicle parts and other items, especially moving many batteries and equipment from Ganli Industry, the lithium battery giant before the Doomsday.

But up until now, the base lacks electric vehicle-related talent.

It must be noted that the construction of electric cars is much simpler than that of fuel cars.

An electric car’s most crucial part is the battery; everything else is relatively simple.

Before the Doomsday, the development of electric vehicles was restricted by the development of batteries.

.......

At the Big Camphor Tree Base.

Li Yu, in the residential building of the Second Outer City, observed zombies still moving around continuously.

Ironically, before the Doomsday, humans constantly searched for an inexhaustible energy source, but after the Doomsday, Zhou Ran’s incidental idea actually realized it.

Li Yu was thrilled. With a continuous supply of electricity, the Big Camphor Tree Base would stand invincible.

To his knowledge, before he was reborn, nobody in the Doomsday thought of using zombies for power generation.

In fact, no faction had the capability. Amid repeated natural disasters and man-made calamities, large bases collapsed, while smaller factions struggled at the edge of extinction, focused solely on obtaining food, leaving no time to entertain other thoughts.

Unable to fill their stomachs, what future is there to talk about?

Before his rebirth, humanity in the Doomsday had mostly regressed to the cold weapon era by five years later.

The Big Camphor Tree Base took numerous strides ahead compared to other factions.

A step faster, ensuring everlasting supremacy.

It’s an untouched territory, perhaps the future lies here.

Li Yu’s thoughts made him excited, yet he felt somewhat troubled.

Talent! Talent!

As of now, there’s still a shortage of talents in this area.

Although there’s Li Hang, a bit of an amateur, and He Bing, a modification enthusiast, they aren’t enough.

Then there are Lao Zhou and others coming from lathe factories, although knowledgeable in some areas, they aren’t battery experts.

He needs a battery expert, even a team.

Solving the battery issue will solve storage issues, which then can extend to other directions.

The future is unimaginable.

Turning his head, Li Yu said to He Chao beside him, ”Last time, did you find any power system experts among the cooperative and extra staff?”

He Chao smiled wryly, ”I asked around, Zuo Ruxue said she had known an expert in the field before joining the Big Camphor Tree Base, but he was later bitten by a zombie.”

”None, then?” Li Yu frowned.

With over a thousand people, he couldn’t believe no one could be found.

Hesitating, He Chao said, ”There is an engineer from an electric vehicle company involved in the research of the electric three-system.”

Li Yu, hearing this, perked up, asking, ”Where is he now?”

He Chao responded, ”Still at the construction site, working there. I can call him over anytime.”

Li Yu pondered for a moment, stepping out of the Zombie Generator room and closing the door, he said, ”Don’t call him just yet; tell me about his background, which team is he from?”
