Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

But as for cooperative personnel or extra staff who only have a cooperative relationship with the base,

it’s not that complicated. Although extra staff are considered people on our side in a broad sense,

there’s still a difference between close and distant relationships.

Saving you is a favor, not saving you is a duty.

Moreover, it’s a risk these cooperative personnel must accept when they are performing tasks in exchange for food.

Li Yu had heard of Third Uncle’s exploits, where fewer than ten people fought against thousands in a super special forces unit in the jungle.

Having fewer people was actually advantageous for Third Uncle.

Understanding all this, Li Yu nodded and said, ”Alright, let’s do as you say, Third Uncle.”

”Xiao Yu.” Second Uncle immediately got anxious upon hearing this.

Li Yu gestured with his right hand, indicating for him not to worry for the moment.

Everyone in the meeting room looked at Third Uncle with some surprise.

Normally, during meetings, Third Uncle would either doze off in the corner or eat fruit.

But whenever he spoke, it was always to take on some difficult and dangerous task.

This left everyone admiring him greatly.

Li Gang and Li Tie, when they heard their father wanted to go, spoke in unison: ”We want to go too.”

Third Uncle raised his head and glared at the two, saying, ”Stop causing trouble, you two stay put.”

”But.”

”No buts about it, you’d only be a burden to me if you went.” Third Uncle saw his sons wanting to speak, and said impatiently.

He rarely needed to explain his actions.

But this sentence was, in a way, an explanation.

The two were instantly speechless; their father was right. They had practiced with him before, but even when he used both hands, they couldn’t beat him.

Both hands, not just one.

Humiliated, having such a strong father made them unable to say anything further.

”Alright, that’s settled then. I’ll set off in a couple of days.” Third Uncle shoved the apple core into his mouth as he spoke.

He never spits out apple cores.

Once Third Uncle finalized the decision, no one had anything more to say.

Yet it made Old Lv, Dapao, Yang Tianlong, and others even more respectful.

They had all been in the military, and had heard of this legendary figure.

They hadn’t thought the legends were true.

The charisma remained, astounding strength.

At the same time, it raised the recognition of the Big Camphor Tree Base to the highest level.

Even Li Yu’s uncle was voluntarily undertaking dangerous tasks.

Indeed, Li Yu acted very fairly, treating everyone as his own people.

........

After a minute of silence,

Li Yu spoke again: ”Alright, the matter of the steel is left to Third Uncle to investigate. Also, we need to construct some buildings within; do you have any ideas?”

Uncle thought for a while and then said, ”In this Inner City, there are already some factories and breeding farms, and they’re a bit overloaded. The original training ground was later converted into a factory.

So, I think this place could add a training field to enhance everyone’s combat effectiveness.”

Upon hearing this, Li Yu nodded and said, ”That’s a good suggestion. With the expansion of personnel recently, coupled with the natural disasters these past few months, everyone’s training has not been continuous; building this training field seems viable.”

Everyone agreed this made sense.

An Ya raised her hand but then seemed to think it wasn’t her turn yet, and lowered it.

Seeing this, Li Yu immediately said, ”An Ya, go ahead.”

An Ya’s face was slightly flushed: ”I, well, I wanted to ask about how large the planting area in the Third Outer City should be, and whether we need to continue using the greenhouse planting method.”

Li Yu glanced around and said, ”I think 80 acres should suffice. I remember there are still many surplus solar panels from last time, let’s use them all. What do you all think?”

80 acres!

Currently, the combined greenhouse area of Inner and Outer Cities is only about this size.

Of course, it doesn’t include the underground plantation.

But 80 acres is already a considerable size in itself.

Based on the yield from the last harvest,

once constructed, it could sustain a thousand people easily, plus extra staff subsidies would be covered with a lot of surplus.

Yet, everyone felt this was reasonable.

They all expressed it was quite good.

150 acres for the Third Outer City, and only 80 acres for planting, which is about half the area.

Not to mention, the Third Outer City is indeed vast, larger than the combined First and Second Outer Cities.

Sitting on the left, Ding Jiu rubbed his shoulder as he thought of a point.

He then said, ”Um, the construction of the greenhouse definitely requires steel frameworks, meaning we still need steel. We have the experience from last time, and we have molds, so we can produce the frames; the key is steel.”

Li Yu waved his hand and said, ”No worries, we’ll discuss this once Third Uncle returns from investigating in Guang Province. As long as we can locate a steel factory, these issues are minor.”

Second Uncle, having thought for a long time, then spoke:

”Xiao Yu, if we’re to expand personnel, some residential areas need to be built, correct? Currently, the Zombie engines are occupying a building in the Second Outer City. We need to consider this.”

Second Uncle’s words prompted everyone into contemplation.

The Zombie engines are of major importance, as they relate to the base’s power supply.

And electricity is the most crucial energy for the base.
