Chapter 642: Chapter 538: Three Tanks, Three Armored Vehicles (Two in One)_2

Fly the drone out, and when we’re nearly there, turn on the horn. Create noise from five kilometers away to attract the zombies’ attention.

Otherwise, the moment we get there, the zombies will come out. Even though we have cover on the vehicle, some zombies will see us and be drawn over.

Li Tie’s eyes brightened upon hearing Li Yu’s plan. He steadied himself in the vehicle and then said to Dapao, ”Dapao, keep the vehicle steady. I’m going to release the drone.”

”Okay, go ahead,” Dapao responded.

Li Tie went to the back of the vehicle, then opened a door and released the drone from behind the vehicle.

Even behind the vehicle’s rear end, there was still a four-meter height above ground. Some relentless zombies were following behind.

The moment the drone flew out, the horn sounded.

Then it flew off in a different direction.

The zombies that had been following the loader turned and followed the loud noise of the horn.

Li Tie returned to the vehicle cabin and watched the zombies on the screen as the drone flew slowly, ensuring it wouldn’t be pulled down by zombies but also that the ones behind could keep up.

It was a technical job.

In fact, with this loader, they could fight even at night.

However, in pitch darkness, they had too many disadvantages. They couldn’t see clearly and it was difficult to control how many zombies were around. If they attracted zombies from even farther away, their firepower would simply be insufficient.

On the other hand, they were tired from the travel, having sat in the vehicle for so long. Both their physical and spiritual power were depleted, and they needed rest.

The horn blasted, thunderously loud.

Hearing the massive noise, Li Yu said to Li Tie somewhat speechlessly, ”Why is the sound so loud? Fly it farther away quickly. Don’t attract all the zombies here.”

Li Tie smiled sheepishly and said, ”The last horn broke, so I dug this one out from the storage, which was used for square dancing. Didn’t expect it to be this loud.”

Li Yu heard from the horn:

”You are the most beautiful cloud in my sky,

Let me carefully keep you here,

Keep you here...”

It was still that flashy ethnic style.

The drone led a large number of zombies off in another direction.

Two minutes later.

Li Yu saw a huge sign ahead: Eastern Building Materials City.

He took out the walkie-talkie and said, ”Old Luo, where are you guys? We’re at the entrance now.”

Old Luo and his group, seeing the sky had completely darkened, finally received Li Yu’s message. Old Luo immediately said, ”Come through the middle open space, then turn right to find the parking lot.”

He then turned his head and told Yang Tianlong beside him, ”They’ve arrived.”

Before Li Yu could tell Dapao, Dapao also heard Old Luo’s instructions and drove the loader toward the location Old Luo mentioned.

Li Yu saw some zombies still following the vehicle and continued to speak into the walkie-talkie with Old Luo’s group, ”Some zombies are following us from behind. Take them out with crossbows later. Don’t use guns.”

Yang Tianlong and the others inside the vehicle immediately stood up, found their crossbows and arrows, and geared up.

They opened the vehicle’s roof hatch and stared intently at the entrance to the parking lot.

Rumbling—

A behemoth drove in, followed by two SUVs.

Li Yu spotted the Unimog parked to the left and directed Dapao, ”Park next to the Unimog.”

He then took out the walkie-talkie and said to the people in the two following vehicles, ”Old Zhou, follow behind, form a single line. This way, it’s easier for us to leave and park.”

”Received.”

”Received.”

Swoosh swoosh swoosh—

The dozen zombies that had followed their car were taken down with crossbows by Old Luo’s group.

Dapao parked the vehicle steadily next to the Unimog and turned off the engine.

Turned off the lights.

The other two RVs did the same.

From entering the parking lot to parking the vehicles steadily and turning off the lights, it took less than a minute.

However, this minute still made a noise.

Some of the zombies nearby were drawn over by it.

”Silence. Everyone, don’t make any noise, and close all windows,” Li Yu whispered into the walkie-talkie.

Silence.

Dozens of zombies, attracted by the noise of the vehicles just a moment ago, surrounded their vehicles.

In a hushed pause.

With the vehicle smeared with zombie blood and severed limbs, the zombies around the vehicles roared as if they’d suddenly lost their target.

The quiet Eastern Building Materials City.

On both sides were tall market buildings, empty and devoid of life.

In the night, the darkness seemed like a gaping maw that could swallow all light.

Terrifying yet vast.

Everyone inside the vehicle held their breath.

Li Yu slowly walked over to Li Tie and watched him remotely control the drone.

The drone was already five kilometers away from them, behind Nanzhuang Town.

Li Yu saw the screen and couldn’t help but inhale a breath of cold air.

Even at night, where visibility was poor, he could still make out the dense, black tide-like mass of zombies in Nanzhuang Town.

A sight that made one’s scalp tingle.

Li Yu said to Li Tie, ”Turn off the horn; it’s pretty much enough. Now remote control the drone to the top of a high-rise building and leave it there for the night.”

Li Tie asked in a low voice, curious, ”Are we not bringing the drone back?”

Li Yu pursed his lips, motioning for him to listen to the sound of zombies outside the vehicle.
