Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 611: Chapter 522: Revenge Must Not Wait Overnight, To Cut the Grass Remove the Roots_2

Upon hearing that, the squad leader suddenly didn’t know how to respond.

There were so many paths ahead, he didn’t know which way to go.

Ma Jun, feeling irritated, got into the vehicle and then said to everyone, ”What are you still doing standing there? Get in the car and let’s go back. Don’t waste time here!”

After saying that, he instructed the driver to start the vehicle and head back to Jinxian County.

The squad leader looked left and right, feeling somewhat defeated. The short-statured young man beside him suggested, ”Big brother, let’s get in the car too. We’ll have opportunities to run into them again in the future.”

Seeing that the vehicles behind him had all driven away, the squad leader, despite his eagerness to pursue further, realized that with only a few of them, there was nothing they could do. They had no choice but to give up.

Meanwhile, Li Yu and his group, after leaving the riverside, took a detour towards Jinxian County.

Half an hour later, they arrived at a three-way junction, where each branch had a traffic sign indicating the destination if one were to follow that road.

To the far right was the sign: Jinxian.

There was also a large billboard for artillery far in the distance, which still featured an automobile advertisement.

However, after a year of exposure to wind, rain, and sun, the steel pillars below the billboard were rust-ridden, and the picture on the advertisement was faded and peeling off.

”Big brother, we’re here. Taking the road to the right leads to Jinxian,” Li Tie said as they stopped at the junction.

Li Yu looked up and said, ”Alright, don’t stop here. It’s not a good place to set up an ambush. Let’s go further in and see.”

The group drove on.

This road wasn’t a highway, just a regular tar road, and there were some privately built rural houses by the roadside.

After driving for about five minutes, Li Yu’s group came to a corner.

Jiangnan is known for its hills and forests.

Such corners, before the apocalypse, were often hotspots for vehicular accidents.

The corner turned left, and on the right side, there was a small station for refueling and water service, and even further back, there was a restaurant. Further in, a path led to a sign at the end: Yici Retirement Home.

Li Yu told Li Tie to stop the car and turned to everyone, asking, ”What do you guys think about setting up an ambush here?”

Old Luo got out of the vehicle, surveyed the terrain around them, including the corner ahead. It was possible to block the way in front by horizontally placing a large truck, creating a point for interception.

Any vehicle approaching, if not yet at the corner, would be completely oblivious to the interception point.

To the left was a steep forest, and to climb it, one would have to start from a lower elevation a few hundred meters away.

To the right lay a wide expanse of paddy fields, open and unobstructed.

To the right of the corner was the service station and other places that Li Yu had noticed earlier.

Old Luo, satisfied, nodded and said, ”This place is good. We just need to set up an interception point at the corner ahead, and lay some ambush on the steep slope on the right. They shouldn’t be able to escape.”

Li Yu also got out of the car and, after inspecting the terrain, nodded and said, ”Old Luo, your suggestion is good. We also need to consider if they try to escape by reversing before reaching the corner. We should have some people at the back to keep watch.”

”Big brother, do you mean to lock them front and back and have them run towards the paddy field?” Li Gang asked after getting out of the car.

Li Yu replied with a smile, ”Correct. The paddy field is wide open, and a hundred meters is enough for us to take them down. If we occupy the advantageous terrain and can shoot downward from both front and back, their only escape route would be towards the paddy field.”

As they talked, they settled on a plan.

In the end, they combined everyone’s ideas and made arrangements.

Li Yu began assigning tasks: ”Old Lü, you take 4 people and place a large truck at the interception point at the front corner. If anyone appears, you can open fire immediately. I’ll give you a Rocket Launcher.

Tianlong, you go into the forest a few hundred meters back with 4 people in two large trucks. After everyone of them is enclosed in the ambush, block the road behind.

Dapao, you take 4 people with good spear skills. The service station there provides the best view. You take them to the top of the service station or the restaurant and snipe, remember, your main target is to take out the drivers.

Gangzi, you bring two people and temporarily move the rest of our vehicles to the retirement home. Quickly deal with any Zombies if you encounter them. After that, go to the forest on the right. If one or two enemies manage to run fast, you’ll ambush and take them out there.

The rest of you, bring your guns and follow me to the steep hillside on the left for an ambush.”

They had brought 36 people in total.

There were 5 at the front intersection point,

with Yang Tianlong at the back,

with the best view at the service station on the right, and after Gangzi’s 3 people moved the vehicles over, they would be ambushed behind the paddy field on the right.

On the left, Li Yu and Old Luo led 18 people in an ambush on the steep slope.

If the Corpse Speaker and his people entered this ambush ring, they would be surrounded from front, back, left, and right.

Moreover, on the nearest steep slope to the left, they would encounter the fiercest resistance with the most people.

Watching Li Yu methodically assign the tasks, Old Bi and Old Yi looked at each other and nodded, their eyes filled with respect.

It was their first time on a mission with Li Yu.

Because of Third Uncle’s status as the King of Soldiers and his combat achievements, their acknowledgment of Third Uncle had reached a high level of respect.
