Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 607: Chapter 520: Setbacks_3

Seeing the confusion in Luo and the others’ eyes, Dapao explained, ”We’ve encountered similar people before who, unable to accept reality, chose to escape and then believed in some messy churches.

But their ideologies are rather bizarre, all products of brainwashing. This might be similar.”

Hearing Dapao’s explanation, Luo and the others finally understood that such organizations had existed even before the apocalypse, but they were never openly discussed and were secretly adhered to.

After the person on the sixth floor died, Li Yu said to Li Gang, ”Bring the drone back. Flying it out there doesn’t serve much purpose now. Let’s save some battery.”

”Okay.” Li Gang remotely piloted the drone back to the rooftop.

Li Yu, holding a telescope, noticed the zombies outside the hospital door. Although there were still some, they had been lured over by the drone’s loudspeaker and the gunshots from earlier, decreasing the pressure.

He then turned around and said to everyone, ”Alright, everyone disperse and rest.”

The crowd dispersed.

A few people stayed on duty here, watching the main entrance from the top floor, with two more on duty at the base of the building.

Li Yu also found a place to rest.

....

The night passed.

Zombies roamed the streets last night, but they didn’t notice Li Yu and his group.

The hospital’s main door was somewhat deformed but still held on tenaciously.

At six in the morning.

Li Yu went out to the balcony on the rooftop.

The morning sunlight hit the building, its reflection somewhat dazzling.

Li Yu looked at the street, where there were noticeably fewer zombies than last night, and as time progressed, more and more zombies started retreating to the darker corners of buildings.

Goo-goo-goo-goo-goo~

A flock of birds flew past in the sky, chirping.

The zombies on the street stirred and walked towards the direction where the birds were flying.

But after chasing for a while and losing sight of the birds, the zombies resumed wandering in place.

Seeing that everyone was awake, Li Yu called everyone to prepare for the day’s work.

By now, after yesterday’s search, they had mostly loaded the needed medical equipment from the First People’s Hospital onto the truck.

There were still over a hundred zombies lingering outside the hospital.

Li Yu told everyone, ”Those who don’t have silencers today, try to use the crossbow.”

Everyone nodded, knowing that the noise yesterday had attracted those people and the zombies.

Li Yu asked Luo and others to move the remaining medical equipment that wasn’t transported yesterday onto the truck.

After exiting the accommodation building and starting the vehicles, they made some noise too.

Li Yu then instructed Luo and Yang Tianlong to move the medical equipment, while he asked Dapao, Lao Lu, and others to follow him in two SUVs to go to the building where the people from yesterday had been.

They split into two groups.

Dapao and Li Yu drove towards that location.

Equipped with helmets and wearing bullet-proof vests with an additional layer of homemade armor on the outside, the armor effectively prevented zombie bites and also offered some resistance against bullets.

The group searched the building where those people were located yesterday and still found no trace of them.

However, because they had attracted many zombies yesterday, many zombies hid inside the houses as dawn broke.

This also led to several encounters with zombies during their search.

After thoroughly searching the entire building, they still couldn’t find them.

”It seems they’ve run away,” Li Yu pounded the door frame forcefully, causing the glass to crash down.

”So what do we do now?” Dapao asked.

”Let’s not worry about them for now. We’ll face whatever comes our way. Let’s just gather all the medical equipment first,” Li Yu replied.

By the time they returned to the First People’s Hospital, Yang Tianlong and the others had already loaded the required medical equipment onto the truck.

”Let’s go to the Sixth People’s Hospital.”

The Sixth People’s Hospital was a short drive away from the First People’s Hospital, just a few minutes by car.

After they left that area, in the building three units to the right of the one Li Yu and his team had searched, two figures appeared on the rooftop balcony.

”Big brother, that was close. Luckily, you said we should move last night, otherwise we would have been discovered by them today,” a short man said.

Beside him, a man wearing a hat and a mask angrily watched the direction Li Yu and his team were leaving, and said, ”Let’s go back, tell Boss Ma that a new strong force has appeared. With boss’s understanding of zombies, we can definitely attract more zombies.”

The short young man, as if envisioning some grand scene, nodded repeatedly and said, ”Okay.”
