Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 610: Chapter 522: Don’t Harbor Overnight Revenge, Cut the Grass and Remove the Roots

After the vehicle left the riverside, Li Tie looked up and asked:

”Big brother, are we going back, or what are we doing?”

Based on his understanding of Li Yu, Li Yu usually nips any hidden dangers in the bud.

Otherwise, Li Yu wouldn’t have just asked that man where those people went.

Li Yu glanced through the rearview mirror and thought for a moment before saying, ”Where did that guy just say the Corpse Speakers were again?”

Luo said, ”I heard that man just now say Jinxian County!”

Li Tie also nodded and said, ”Yes, that’s what I heard too.”

Dapao pulled out a map, found Jinxian County, and pointed at it saying, ”It’s not far, there’s only one road to Jinxian County, but if we’re going there, we’d have to take a detour ahead.”

Li Yu took out an electronic map, looking at it and pondering for a long while.

Li Yu muttered, ”If we say they are the biggest power group around here, where would those people we encountered last night go after their departure?

According to what those people by the river just said, these Corpse Speakers are a force not to be trifled with around here, and they are basically dominating the area.

Let’s assume for a moment, if we were the masters of this place, and we discovered foreign invaders who also killed our people, what would we do as the invaders?”

”Of course, we’d go back to headquarters and gather a large group to deal with these foreigners!” Dapao blurted out.

Li Yu looked at Dapao and nodded, ”Yes, those people from last night must have gone back to report, but since we haven’t encountered them so far, where does that suggest they are?”

Luo tapped the map navigation, which showed a travel time of two hours.

He speculated, ”Assuming those people from last night left and immediately went back to Jinxian County, even if it takes them two hours to return, and a few minutes to gather their people, and then another two hours to come here, they should be in Changshi City Center by now.

And since we’ve been from this morning to now only about four or five hours, it’s just twelve o’clock. If they were to come over, they should have just arrived here.”

Li Yu looked at the map; it displayed their current location at the south of the provincial capital Chang City, with both the First People’s Hospital and Second People’s Hospital situated in the southeast of Changshi City Center.

Jinxian County is to the north of Chang City, and to get there, one could either go through the city center or circle around the edge of Chang City to the north.

Thinking this way, everyone had the same answer in their minds.

The Corpse Speakers are likely in Chang City right now!

A gleam flashed in Li Yu’s eyes.

He said assertively, ”Since we’re here and have encountered them, let’s resolve this trouble sooner rather than later. Tiezi, take a detour up ahead, circle to the north, and set up an ambush on the essential path leading to Jinxian County! If they come looking for us, they must pass through there.”

Actually, Li Yu thought more about the fact that before being reborn, he had also heard of the Corpse Speaker organization, which had survived for so long and was definitely not simple.

Rather than watching them grow stronger, it would be better to address the problem now and eliminate future troubles!

Li Tie adjusted the destination on the iPad placed next to him and then started navigating, taking a detour towards Jinxian County.

In the van, Li Yu picked up the walkie-talkie and discussed the just formulated plan with Yang Tianlong, Laobi, Laoyi, and Laolv who were in another car.

He also warned everyone to be prepared for battle at any moment.

After all, they were just speculating; if the Corpse Speakers were on their way, they might have been delayed by something and still be en route.

....

In the center of Chang City, in the east.

Ma Jun looked around at the surrounding buildings and searched; they had been searching for twenty minutes already and hadn’t sighted any other people.

Glancing back, seeing the squad leader sitting next to him, he became even angrier and scolded, ”Has your brain been kicked by a donkey? Why do you never think before acting? How is this different from finding a needle in a haystack?”

The squad leader scratched his head and said, ”I didn’t mean for it to happen, I was just too nervous at the time and wanted to hurry back to report to you, boss.”

Suddenly, he remembered something and said, ”Ah, I remember now, when we saw them, they were coming from the south. Maybe we should search southwards; we might find them there.”

Ma Jun ripped off his mask, his eyes full of ferocity, and said, ”Why didn’t you say that earlier! Immediately notify the other groups now; tell them to come south.”

By the time they reached the south, the people who had been at the riverside had already left, but there were still some traces of burnt fire by the river.

Seeing these traces, the squad leader excitedly said to Ma Jun, ”Boss, they must have gone south; look, there are traces where they cooked.”

Ma Jun walked over and inspected, and by the looks of it, they had left over half an hour ago.

Chang City was originally a transportation hub even before the apocalypse, with roads crisscrossing in all directions. Leaving the city center, one could go north, south, east, or west, with all routes being conveniently accessible.

Not to mention heading south, there were two roads, one leading to Ji City and another to Gan City.

Seeing the excited squad leader walking towards him, Ma Jun said flatly, ”So what if you found traces? Do you know which direction they went?”
