Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 604: Chapter 519: Inviting Loneliness_2

We’ll attract the zombies over there, and after these people bite the dust, we’ll go take their stuff.

Do you think the boss will still blame us for not completing the mission?”

The short young man, upon hearing the leader’s words, thought it made sense. After all, the mission they were to execute seemed less important compared to the prospect of obtaining more resources.

Others also felt he was right.

The leader leaned on the glass and looked carefully.

The two men dispatched earlier were now left with no bones by the zombies.

He said: ”This is their fate. When we go down later, we can just lure the zombies from a distance. Don’t get too close to the hospital, they might see us clearly if we do.

Moreover, when we go down later, disguise yourselves properly. I don’t want you to end up like them.”

”Understood. By the way, big brother, I have an idea. Right now we’re only wearing an outer layer soaked in zombie blood, but it can easily get washed off in the rain.

If we scrape the scalp off the zombies, dry it, and wear it on our heads like the masks we’re wearing now,

it’s simple and saves trouble. What do you think?”

The leading man thought it over and found it interesting, so he said: ”That’s a good idea; we’ll try it out later. If it’s effective, we’ll recommend it to the boss.”

The short young man was pleased to be approved by the leader.

Everyone prepared, stirring a foul smelling liquid in a barrel with a stick - the ruddy black fluid was vomit-inducing.

Yet they expressionlessly applied it to their coats and masks.

Minutes later, they had once again smeared over themselves with zombie blood and remnants.

They went downstairs.

To the back door.

By the back door, there were four or five zombies. Seeing the five people coming down from the building,

they sniffed and then left, mistaking them for their own kind.

Their disguises, especially in the dark of night without any light, would probably be indistinguishable from the zombies.

The frequency of their steps, the pace of their movement, all were extremely similar to the zombies.

”You two, go and lure the zombies at the Paris Spring intersection on the west side. The rest of you, come with me to another place,” the leader spoke.

They split into two groups, each heading in a different direction to attract the zombies.

But all this, Li Yu and his team did not know.

On the rooftop of the hospital’s residential building.

After seeing those two people being devoured, Li Yu said to Old Lü: ”Is the main gate downstairs locked tightly?”

Old Lü affirmatively said: ”It’s locked up tight, I chained and locked it up.”

Li Yu recalled the glass front door downstairs and said: ”If the zombies break in, I doubt that door will hold for long.

Moreover, the recent zombie disturbance indicates we’ve been targeted.

Now that the two of them are dead, the others probably won’t give up and may lead more zombies here.

In that case, Old Lü, you take people downstairs and move all the ammunition, food, and water from our vehicles up here, just in case.”

Old Lü, upon hearing this, began to carry out the order.

The vehicles they parked were all situated at the entrance of the residential building.

Five trucks, while not completely blocking the entrance, left a narrow gap.

Among the vehicles parked were the Unimog, another RV, and off-road vehicles.

Their important supplies were mostly stored in the Unimog and the off-road vehicles.

Li Yu’s face was clouded with worry; the number of zombies in this city was still too great.

If those hidden enemies led a particularly large number of zombies here, it would be a major problem.

On the other side.

The Corpse Speaker and his crew reached the shopping street a kilometer or two away, then attracted zombies to lead them towards the hospital’s main gate.

They were not yet very skilled, simply standing in front and crudely drawing the zombies to follow.

The zombies twisted their bodies and shambled towards the hospital.

Top floor of the hospital’s residential building.

Dapao, who had been keeping an eye on the movements outside the hospital, suddenly said to Li Yu: ”Brother Yu, come look, another bunch of zombies are coming.”

”It seems my guess was right, they are not giving up and are still leading zombies here. We can’t just keep waiting.” Li Yu said.

Then he turned to Li Gang and asked: ”Did we bring the drone?”

Li Gang said, ”I’ve brought them, they’re in my backpack.”

”Take them out, and the loudspeaker too,” Li Yu said without any hesitation.

This drone was Li Yu’s idea for if they ever got besieged by zombies in the city. It would be the best tool to attract the zombies’ attention.

However, as soon as the drone was deployed and the loudspeaker turned on, it would attract even more zombies to their vicinity.

There were pros and cons.

But at least at that moment, the advantages outweighed the disadvantages.

Just then, suddenly, the sound of a siren erupted from the hospital’s ground floor.

”What’s going on?” Li Yu hurriedly ran to the edge of the rooftop and picked up the telescope to look.

He saw that the dense crowd of zombies already surrounding the hospital’s entrance were now in a frenzy.

The front door of the hospital was close to collapsing.

”Damn it! That’s damn sneaky!” Li Yu cursed.

Then, he hastily took out the walkie-talkie and said to Lao Lu and the others who were still carrying supplies, ”Lao Lu, have you finished transporting everything? Hurry up here. Lock the door.”

Lao Lu and the others had also heard the siren at the entrance door. Hearing Li Yu’s order, they immediately responded, ”Right away.”

Then they said to the other team members who were carrying items, ”Let’s go, move upstairs first. We’ve carried almost everything. Lock the car doors.”

No one dared to linger. They picked up the boxes at their feet and raced upstairs.

After seeing all his teammates move the supplies away, Lao Lu, at the rear, locked the glass front door with a large iron chain.

The glass door, they did not know whether it could hold back the zombies.

On the rooftop.

After giving instructions to Lao Lu, Li Yu immediately said to Li Gang, ”Launch the drone, quickly. Draw the zombies away from the entrance.”

Buzz~

As soon as Li Yu finished speaking, Li Gang controlled the drone and flew it out.

When it reached the street outside the hospital, the speaker suddenly blared.

”Recycling old electrical appliances~ Old mobile phones~ Old air conditioners~ Old fridges~ Old fans~ Old computers~”

Through the loudspeaker, a vigorous and distinctly accented voice of a middle-aged man echoed down the entire street.

”Why did you use this voice?” Li Yu glanced at Li Gang and mockingly said.

”Eh, it’s catchy and brainwashing, and the key thing is that the voice is really loud,” Li Gang replied.

Li Yu, with the telescope in hand, saw that the zombies were clearly attracted to this loud and unknown entity.

”Hurry up and fly, why are you still hovering there?” Li Yu said.

Buzz~~

The drone flew straight to the street on the left.

”Slow down a bit, the zombies at the back are almost unable to keep up,” Li Yu said, watching through the telescope.

”Okay.”

Accompanied by a loud noise, the zombies surrounding the hospital door also chased after the sound, which seemed louder and more alluring.

Zap~ a surge of electronic sound.

The siren sound at the front door suddenly ceased.

Since it was placed behind the hospital door, Li Yu and his team couldn’t see what had happened.

They didn’t know whether the zombies moving around had smashed the player or what, but the siren was gone.

”Old mobile phones for sale~~”

On both sides of the main street, the Corpse Speaker team, who had painstakingly drawn a large swarm of zombies close to the hospital entrance and were about to witness the zombies breaking through the door, suddenly heard this sound and were stunned.

This wasn’t how things were supposed to play out; they had carefully lured the zombies for a long time and attracted so many of them.

They had even placed a player on one of the zombies.

Now, they were ready to watch the tide-like zombies break through the hospital’s doors.

Instead, the zombies suddenly turned around and ran towards their direction.

”Fuck.” The leader of the Corpse Speaker team cursed.
