Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 641: Chapter 538: Three Tanks, Three Armored Vehicles (Two in One)

Evening, silence.

Birds returning home cry out.

The fiery sun slowly descends at the horizon.

Illuminating the dusk sky.

The clouds too, are painted with colors, red mixing with blue, turning into a pale pink.

Like a dream, like an illusion.

All of this, seems like an oil painting.

Beautiful, yet profound.

This city, in the apocalypse, feels somewhat like an urban forest.

No one to clear the weeds, trees, vines, ferns on the roads.

Now, the city is filled with greenery.

Grasses poking through the cracks, bird nests built at the edges of houses.

Green and black and white, are the base tones of this city.

The day’s heat lingers.

Soon, evening wind will dry the whole alley.

Exhausted lights cannot illuminate us anymore.

The sky slowly darkens.

The beautiful scenery merely a respite from cruel reality.

Such ultimate beauty, yet it brings a feeling of extreme sadness, desolation, and despair.

Such a beautiful sky, yet on the ground, zombies roam.

Is there really still hope for humanity?

Luo and Yang Tianlong and others, arrived early at Eastern Building Materials City in South Town of Fushi, and surveyed the surroundings.

Eastern Building Materials City was already a spacious place, scarcely populated.

Thus, even as it approached nightfall, there weren’t many zombies.

They parked their car in the parking lot.

This parking lot has parking bollards on both front and back sides, and some horizontal bars.

Yang Tianlong said to Luo, ”Luo, try contacting them again, see if Li Yu and the others have come yet, it’s getting dark soon. If they don’t arrive within half an hour, it will be tough.”

Luo tried communicating several times through the walkie-talkie but couldn’t reach Li Yu and the others. He shook his head at Yang Tianlong indicating no contact.

Time passed by second by second, and without being able to contact Li Yu, they could only wait in anxiety.

Two minutes later.

Suddenly, the radio crackled.

”Luo, Luo, can you hear me? I am Li Tie, I am Li Tie.” Li Tie’s voice came from the walkie-talkie.

Luo shuddered, almost dropping the walkie-talkie but swiftly caught it, then spoke, ”I can hear you, Li Tie, where are you now?”

After installing a repeater in the car, they could cover a range of 35 kilometers, but only now they could receive their message, indicating the distance might be over 30 kilometers.

But now, less than half an hour remains until dark, staying outdoors and making noise could easily attract zombies.

According to their original plan, they were to arrive here early, then park in the parking lot, and spray some zombie liquid on their car to mask the human scent.

This method, learned from a Corpse Speaker, is now coming in handy.

Hearing Luo’s question, Li Tie checked the GPS map, they were only about 15 kilometers from their planned location, Nanzhuang Town, hence he said, ”We are near the Begonia trees, only about ten kilometers from you, we will definitely arrive in half an hour.”

”15 kilometers?” Luo spoke loudly.

The walkie-talkie, enhanced for signal, should be able to receive within a thirty-kilometer range, why couldn’t it connect earlier?

He continued to ask, ”Did you encounter any problems earlier? Why couldn’t we contact you earlier, wasn’t it supposed to work within thirty kilometers?”

Li Tie was silent for a moment, then said, ”Could it be because of the mountains here, they might be blocking the signal.”

Luo remembered that there were several signal towers here, which might also obstruct the signal, hence he said, ”Makes sense, we didn’t directly enter Nanzhuang Town, we are across the river at Eastern Building Materials City, navigate here, come straight over.”

”Okay.” After Li Tie finished speaking, he put away the walkie-talkie.

Dapao, driving a giant loader, was seated in the front, and was already feeling numb.

The sky gradually darkens.

After the apocalypse, humans’ inherent fear of the night intensified.

In the apocalypse, the night represents danger, dangers that are unseen everywhere.

Walking in the nighttime, perhaps the next second, a zombie or a group of zombies might appear behind you.

If unarmed, then in the apocalyptic night, death is certain.

Many times, even with weapons, facing a large Zombie Tide, escape is impossible.

The night of the apocalypse belongs to the zombies, it’s best not to walk in the night.

....

The sky grew darker.

The sun had set awhile ago, but there was still some twilight illuminating the earth.

Li Yu and others were now less than 2 kilometers away from Eastern Building Materials City.

They had already turned on the car lights to illuminate the path ahead.

More zombies appeared on the road, Li Yu anxiously said, ”Drive faster.”

Dapao responded with a bitter smile, ”Brother Yu, we can’t drive any faster, going faster could easily cause an accident.”

Li Yu thought for a moment, then turned back to Li Tie and said, ”Tiezi, is the drone speaker fixed?”

Li Tie immediately took out the drone from his bag and said, ”It’s fixed, look.”

Li Yu didn’t look closely, just said, ”Send it up, play it out, I just saw that the place Tianlong and others are at is too close to the military zone, we are likely to draw the zombies out from there.
