Apocalyptic Reincarnation: Start with a 30-million Bonus

Chapter 608: Chapter 521: A Bag of Fried Rice

Li Yu and his group, driving their vehicles, arrived at the Sixth People’s Hospital.

Just like the operation at the First People’s Hospital, this time Li Yu had Dapao take two men to keep watch of the surrounding situation at all times.

They had encountered that group of people last night, couldn’t find them in the morning, and now had no idea where they had gone.

At the Sixth People’s Hospital, everyone strictly followed Li Yu’s instructions, trying not to make any noise.

It took the group two hours to clear the hospital of zombies and then start moving the equipment.

They brought some electrically-powered carts, so transportation wasn’t entirely reliant on manpower, which made it fairly quick.

Dapao was constantly at the highest point of the hospital, observing the surrounding movements.

Three hours later.

The group had moved all the necessary equipment onto the vehicles.

It had reached noon.

Everyone’s stomachs were growling with hunger, but Li Yu did not let them stop to eat on the spot, instead instructing everyone to drive away immediately.

The group they had encountered last night, they didn’t know if they would come again today. If possible, he didn’t want to engage in conflict with others, especially when the other side also had firearms.

Moreover, they had come from other places and were not very familiar with the situation here.

It was best to leave this place of trouble first.

After experiencing what happened last night, everyone knew that staying put held certain risks, so nobody refused, hurriedly got into the vehicles, and prepared to leave.

....

Elsewhere.

After the squad left the area, they headed straight to Xinxian, where their main force was currently stationed.

Originally, they were in Hubei Province, but after scavenging the area dry of supplies, the lack of food and the near absence of people around forced their migration southward.

Just a few days ago, they managed to subdue a group at Xunyang River, forcing them to supply food.

Learning from the experiences in Hubei Province, they didn’t blindly kill people. After all, they also needed to eat. So, they now adopted an aggressive policy of dominance.

They used force to coerce the surrounding powers to grow crops and then hand them over as tribute.

This way, they could disassociate themselves from production.

And in today’s ghostly weather, the harvest of crops was at the mercy of the heavens.

The squad hurried back to their temporary base, a place surrounded by many zombies.

They moved alongside the zombies.

After returning, the leader of the squad went straight to their boss.

”Big, boss, we ran into a group of people at Changshi City Center yesterday. They are very strong; we tried using zombies to take them down, but instead, they turned the tables on us.” Upon entering, he saw a man wearing a mask in the room.

The man with the mask took it off, revealing a bald head with a scar on it.

Without a trace of emotion, he inquired, ”How many people? Did you get a clear look? What did they have?”

The squad leader thought for a moment and replied, ”There should be around twenty or thirty people. As for supplies, they should have a lot of food... probably. Then those people went to the hospital, I saw them moving things in the hospital.”

Ma Jun asked curiously, ”Moving things? What things?”

The squad leader answered, ”I saw them moving some medical equipment and such. Some medications too? I didn’t see very clearly. But those are the kinds of things in a hospital, more or less.”

Boss Ma’s face showed a strange smile and he said, ”Since they came to move these medical supplies, that means they must be going out searching for these things. Don’t act rashly, follow them, find their base, and we’ll use zombies to deal with them later.”

He then added, ”You left someone to tail them, right?”

”Ah, no, we didn’t. They have drones and have been searching for us continuously; we almost got discovered by them.” The squad leader swallowed nervously, sounding tense.

”Hm? You didn’t? Then why did you come back? What if they escape? Imbecile,” Ma Jun cursed, annoyed by the stupidity of his subordinate.

He’s practically worse than zombies.

While speaking, he became increasingly annoyed at his subordinate and burst out cursing, ”What are you still standing there for! Go find them now, track them, locate their base!”

The squad leader’s face twisted into an expression uglier than crying and said, ”But, those people, they all have guns, and they’re extremely vigilant. We could easily be discovered by them.”

Hearing this, Ma Jun swore at the stupidity.

He then thought for a moment and commanded, ”When you left, were they still there?”

”They were,” replied the squad leader.

”Let’s go. Call everyone. Hmm, we’ll pass through the zombie hordes and drive there from the outside,” Ma Jun contemplated and instructed.

The place where they were was quite rudimentary.

The group of zombies outside naturally became their protective moat.

They slept every night wearing layers made of zombie skin, and over time, they became accustomed to being with zombies.

Even more so, because of the extended time spent with zombies, they became more familiar with the habits of zombies, knowing how to attract zombies most effectively and use them to attack humans.

Not to mention, how to disguise themselves among the zombies.

Their group, numbering over a hundred, all wore masks and zombie coats, armed with firearms and slowly made their way out from amidst the horde of thousands of zombies.
