Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

In the Witch Ancestral Land, the sky had turned completely dark.

The people in the square had gone from standing to sitting, and from sitting back to standing again.

But the mosquito on the light screen remained motionless.

Utterly still.

...

”What in the world is it doing?”

Someone finally couldn’t help but ask aloud.

”It’s supposed to be clearing the trials! There are still two left! What’s the meaning of stopping halfway through?”

”Exactly! If it needs to rest, it should come out and rest. What’s the point of just staying still in there?”

”It couldn’t be... scared, could it?”

As soon as the words were spoken, the surroundings fell silent for a moment.

Scared?

Some frowned, some grew thoughtful, and some had already begun to nod.

”It’s possible. There are still two more levels, and they’re even harder than the first. It probably... doesn’t dare to continue.”

”But even if it doesn’t dare to continue, it should still come out. What’s the meaning of making us wait like this?!”

”Come out? How could it show its face? The Holy Daughter invited it three times in front of the entire race. If it just came out dejectedly like this, how could it face anyone?”

”Well, it can’t just stay in there for the rest of its life.”

The discussions grew louder and less concealed.

”I think it’s just scared. It nearly died on the first level. How could it possibly pass the next two?”

”That’s right. The Myriad-Era Nether-Armored Chi almost took its life. The next two levels are said to be even harder. It’s definitely too afraid.”

”So what do we do? Just wait here?”

”What else can we do? If it doesn’t come out, we can’t go in.”

Someone in the crowd sighed.

”Sigh. I really thought there was hope... but this is it?”

The wave of discussion grew larger and larger!

And increasingly harsh.

...

On the steps of the Holy Hall, Yun Yao’s brow was tightly furrowed.

She also didn’t understand what Chu Sheng was doing.

But she believed that Chu Sheng must have his reasons.

”Everyone, be silent.”

Her voice was not loud, but it carried the authority of the Holy Daughter.

The square gradually quieted down.

Yun Yao looked at the light screen and said, word by word:

”The Holy Mosquito has not come out, which means it is still clearing the trials. We need only wait.”

”Anyone who speaks further will be showing disrespect to the Holy Daughter.”

The crowd exchanged glances, and finally, no one said another word.

But the doubt and disappointment in their eyes could not be hidden.

「At that moment,」

Inside the blood-red light screen, Chu Sheng remained still, completely motionless.

...

「Meanwhile.」

Deep within the Ancestral Land, inside a long-abandoned stone hall.

Gong Xuan stood with his hands behind his back, facing a freshly constructed altar.

The altar was not large. It was built from black stones, which were covered in markings he couldn’t comprehend. The voice in his mind had taught him them, claiming they were ancient array patterns from the Divine Revelation Era.

He lifted his head and, through the shattered dome of the stone hall, could see the holy mountain in the distance.

It was brightly lit, with everyone gathered in the square, staring at the blood-red light screen, waiting for the mosquito to clear the trials.

Heh.

A cold sneer tugged at the corners of Gong Xuan’s mouth.

’Let them wait.’

’The longer, the better.’

’It’s best if every single one of them is there, without exception!’

He lowered his head to look at a jade slip in his hand. On its surface, thirteen red dots were slowly blinking—twelve were scattered among the tribes of the twelve branches, and the thirteenth was right here.

All thirteen altars had been set up.

’Heh heh... Oh, Yun Yao, Yun Yao, it’s all thanks to you blowing the Ancestral Witch Horn and making everyone from the twelve branches leave their tribes. It made it so much easier for me to set up these altars!’

Gong Xuan stood before the altar, his expression incomparably dark.

He slowly undid his clothes to examine his body... His entire body was also covered in the marks of the curse.

His time was also running out. He would likely die the next time the curse flared up.

In fact, the marks of the curse on his body had originally crept up to his face and forehead!

Fortunately, the ”lord” in his mind had appeared and helped him suppress the Curse Power!

Moreover, he had been given a way to... completely escape the curse!

’My Lord.’

Gong Xuan dressed himself and began to call out in his mind to that existence.

From the depths of his mind, the cold, sinister voice slowly echoed:

”Well done.”

The voice was hoarse and ancient, as if it had crawled out of an abyss from ten thousand years ago.

”Next, you only need to wait for that mosquito to pass the third level. The moment the core of the Ancestral Hall is fully opened, activate the altars.”

”At that time, the Bloodline of every member of the Witch Race will become a sacrifice.”

”And you—will attain freedom!”

Gong Xuan took a deep breath, a hint of madness flashing in his eyes.

Freedom.

’How many years had he waited for that one word?’

Ever since he was a child, he had watched his people die one by one from the curse, watched his father, mother, and brothers die in agony before him.

He watched the scars on his body multiply day by day, watched the Curse Power roam, tear, and corrode within his Bloodline—

He had had enough.

The Witch Race, his kinsmen, his responsibilities.

’They can all go die, as long as I can live!’

His gaze once again turned toward the Holy Hall.

’That mosquito can also suppress the curse... If it had appeared sooner, perhaps he would have tried... to believe in it.’

’But now, he had no way out!’

’My Lord, if that mosquito really does pass the three levels...’

”Heh heh,” the voice in his head chuckled, its tone bone-chillingly cold.

”So what? The moment the Ancestral Hall’s core opens is the perfect catalyst for the altars. The deeper it goes, the stronger the altars’ power will be.”

”When the time comes, the entire Witch Ancestral Land will be refined and become my new domain.”

”As for that mosquito—”

The voice paused.

”It would make for a decent supplement.”

Gong Xuan nodded and turned to walk out of the stone hall.

He had one last thing to do: ensure that no one would interrupt the process of activating the altars.

He slowly walked to the entrance of the stone hall, preparing to activate the Array he had set up here long ago!

However, the moment he reached the entrance, his body suddenly froze.

His pupils contracted abruptly.

He saw a figure.

A cold and proud figure, with its back turned to him.

...

Outside the stone hall, amidst the darkness of night, the figure stood silently ten zhang away, the hem of their clothes fluttering gently in the wind.

Who else could it be but Gu Yuexi?

”You... How are you here?!”

Gong Xuan’s voice caught in his throat, his pupils trembling violently.

’My Lord!’

’You... You didn’t detect her?!’

There was a moment of silence from the depths of his mind.

Then, the cold, sinister voice spoke, laced with a barely perceptible gravity:

”Ignore her! Activate the Array!”

Upon hearing this, Gong Xuan didn’t hesitate! He bit his finger open and slammed his hand on the ground!

BOOM—

The ground beneath his feet trembled violently!

Around the stone hall, beams of light shot into the sky. It was the Array he had laid in advance, now instantly activated by him!

A curtain of light rose from all directions, enveloping him within it!

Amidst the tremors, Gu Yuexi finally turned her head slowly.

Her gaze was cold, and she looked at Gong Xuan as if he were an ant.

Then, she slowly raised her arm and formed a sword seal with her fingers.

A faint light began to coalesce in the air.

It was a sword.

A Sword of Realm that seemed to be condensed from countless Laws.

Gu Yuexi’s face was expressionless. Her red lips parted slightly, and she uttered a single, cold word:

”Shatter!”
