Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

However, something strange happened.

He was clearly charging straight for it, but just as he was about to reach the lotus, an invisible force brutally pushed him back, returning him to his original spot.

It was as if time itself had reversed for him.

And at that very moment, the last wisp of black on the Karma Lotus finally faded away!

The entire lotus transformed into an impeccable, pure white.

The next second, the pure white lotus petals began to wither one by one, slowly revealing a fruit at the center of the pod. It was only the size of a thumb and entirely green.

An indescribable, fresh fragrance instantly permeated the air.

The fruit was ripe!

’Now’s the time!’

Chu Sheng launched himself forward again, charging toward the green fruit with all his might.

However, the result was the same.

He still couldn’t get close.

And this time, the repulsive force was even stronger than before!

He wasn’t just pushed back to where he started. He could feel the entire world around him rapidly rewinding!

The scene before him flickered backward frantically, like a videotape on fast-rewind.

He had been sent directly backward in time!

When he came to his senses again, he discovered he was no longer on the gray wilderness.

In front of him was the familiar, swirling spatial rift.

An instructor responsible for guarding the Secret Realm was staring at him, utterly dumbfounded.

”Huh? Hey, student, how did you come out? Didn’t you just go in a little while ago?”

Chu Sheng was stunned, too.

’Damn, that’s powerful?’

’This time reversal sent me all the way back to before I even entered the Secret Realm! Does that mean my own personal timeline was just reversed?’

’Awesome!’

He had no time to explain anything to the instructor. With a flap of his wings, he dove headfirst back into the spatial rift.

Upon returning to the Time Wilderness, he immediately activated his Nether Vision, trying to pinpoint Gu Yuexi’s location.

But he found that in this place where the Time Law was distorted, his Nether Vision was also severely disrupted. The scene before him was warped and twisted, making it impossible to get a precise fix on her.

He tried to use Instant Teleportation, but he ended up in some random-ass place, nearly crashing headfirst into the afterimage of a battle.

’Looks like Instant Teleportation works here, but the destination is completely uncontrollable, like opening a blind box.’

To prevent any mishaps, Chu Sheng gave up on Instant Teleportation and resorted to flying, heading toward the Karma Lotus from memory.

By the time he finally managed to get back to Gu Yuexi’s side, he found that several more people had gathered around the Karma Lotus.

They were some of the Jing University seniors who had entered before them.

They had entered several days before Chu Sheng and Gu Yuexi but had been stuck wandering around on the first level, completely unaware that a second level even existed. They hadn’t found any valuable resources, either.

It was only a moment ago that the strange phenomenon and fragrance of the ripening Karma Lotus had attracted them to this spot.

Right now, two of the seniors were trying to get the green fruit, just as Chu Sheng had. Naturally, they too were repeatedly pushed back by the reversing time.

Just then, the female student who had fallen into a time trap and aged into a middle-aged woman also stumbled her way over.

When she saw the two seniors being repeatedly pushed back by the flow of time, her cloudy eyes instantly lit up with immense excitement.

’Time reversal!’

’I can do it too!’

’I can go back to before I fell into the trap! Then, I can get my youth back!’

At this thought, she could no longer hold herself back. Like a madwoman, she charged toward the Karma Fruit.

”Wait!”

Seeing this, Gu Yuexi quickly shouted a warning.

”It’s not that simple! The Time Law around the Karma Fruit is extremely chaotic! You might go back one second, or you might go back a year! It might not even send you back—it could send you forward!”

However, the girl, her mind consumed by the obsession to regain her youth, wouldn’t listen to any advice.

She charged forward without a second thought.

The moment she slammed into the Karma Fruit’s force field.

Time didn’t reverse for her.

Instead... a visible decay spread across her body at a terrifying speed.

Her time was sent flowing forward! And in an instant, it flowed forward by several decades!

In a single instant, she went from a woman in her fifties or sixties to a bald, liver-spotted crone in her seventies or eighties!

”Argh...”

An unwilling groan escaped her throat before her eyes rolled back. She collapsed on the spot, her bodily functions having deteriorated to their absolute limit.

Seeing this horrifying scene, the other seniors’ faces went pale with fright, and they instinctively took several steps back.

They exchanged glances, each seeing the desire to retreat in the others’ eyes.

One of them stepped forward and gave Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng a wry smile.

”Sister Gu, this place is too dangerous. We’re out. We’re going to leave and take this student with us.”

With that, they carefully lifted the barely breathing old crone and left without a backward glance.

Once again, only Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng were left.

Chu Sheng circled the visible but untouchable Karma Fruit several times, his mind racing.

’I’ve got it!’

A glint flashed in his eyes. He’d thought of a brilliant plan!

Once again, he charged toward the fruit!

Just as the force of the time reversal was about to send him away again!

In his mind, Chu Sheng decisively activated one of his ace-in-the-hole Skills!

Time Reincarnation!

The power of reversal met another power of reversal!

’Two negatives make a positive!’

Though he was being pushed back by the time reversal, the power of Time Reincarnation reversed the time reversal itself!

And in that instant, Chu Sheng finally seized the millisecond-long opportunity, using one of his mosquito legs to touch the green Karma Fruit!

’Store!’

The fruit instantly vanished, absorbed directly into his Lifebound Space.

’It would be a waste to just absorb the Power of Law from a legendary treasure like this. I’ll save it for later.’

At the same moment the Karma Fruit disappeared, disaster struck!

BOOM!

The entire Time Wilderness shook violently.

Then, a terrifying storm of time fragments swept across the gray world without warning!

Countless distorted slivers of light, visible to the naked eye like shards of glass, came screaming in from all directions!

The Time Force Field of the entire wilderness fell into complete chaos!

Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng immediately flew high into the air, only to see the seniors, who hadn’t gotten far, being swept into the storm.

They tried to dodge, but the speed of the time fragments was erratic, their trajectories completely unpredictable. Evasion was impossible.

A senior’s arm was grazed by a fragment, and his young, strong limb instantly withered and shriveled, looking like the arm of an eighty-year-old man!

Another senior, a woman, was struck in the head. She froze on the spot, her eyes turning vacant as if she’d suddenly developed amnesia!

Everyone was scared out of their wits and began to flee in a mad panic.

But just then, Chu Sheng and Gu Yuexi made a sharp discovery.

At the very center of the terrifying storm floated a fist-sized, constantly twisting and rotating black orb of light!

That was the spacetime singularity!

The only path to the next level!

’Fortune favors the bold!’

They exchanged a look. Without a moment’s hesitation, they advanced instead of retreating, charging straight into the eye of the storm!

Relying on his Perception of the Time Realm, Chu Sheng constantly predicted the fragments’ trajectories, weaving through the gaps by a hair’s breadth.

And while Gu Yuexi didn’t understand Time Law, she was just as nimble, relying on her Empress Level combat instincts and Body Technique!

At that moment, the woman and the mosquito displayed perfect coordination!

However, the closer they got to the spacetime singularity, the denser the time fragments became, sealing off nearly every path forward.

They were about to be overwhelmed by the countless fragments!

’We have to risk it all!’

At almost the exact same time, they both made their move, pushing their Speed to the absolute limit and forcibly breaking through the final blockade!

The instant they touched the black singularity, both of them vanished into thin air.

...

「The next second.」

When Chu Sheng and Gu Yuexi opened their eyes again, they were in an entirely new place.

The gray, desolate landscape was gone.

In its place was a secret forest, vibrant green and teeming with life, stretching as far as the eye could see.

They had reached the second level.

Gu Yuexi surveyed her surroundings, her expression still grave. She spoke softly,

”This is the second level—the Forest of Stagnation.”

”Bzz, what’s the gimmick for this level?” Chu Sheng asked curiously.

Gu Yuexi didn’t answer. Instead, she casually plucked a green leaf from a nearby tree and flung it forward with a sharp flick of her wrist.

With Gu Yuexi’s power, that casually thrown leaf had enough force to pierce steel plating. It shot out as fast as lightning and should have flown for miles.

However, after flying less than two feet, the leaf’s speed began to drop noticeably.

The farther it flew, the slower it became.

When it reached a distance of about thirty feet, it simply... stopped, hovering bizarrely in mid-air, completely motionless.

This was the Forest of Stagnation.

Chu Sheng understood immediately.

’Similar to that gravity Secret Realm from before,’ he thought. ’The deeper you go, the stronger the force of time-stagnation becomes.’

An ordinary person would likely be frozen in place the moment they entered this second level, unable to ever move again.

Even Eighth-Grade or Ninth Grade masters probably couldn’t get very far.

Gu Yuexi retracted her gaze and said in a solemn voice,

”Our goal is in the deepest part of this second level—the Divine Hall of Stagnation!”
