Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

As Gu Yuexi reeled from the shock, Chu Sheng, who had heard her thoughts, was stunned as well!

’Holy crap, isn’t this a trope straight out of Earth’s Primeval Mythology? It actually happened in this world?’

’Looks like there’s some kind of connection between these two worlds that I don’t know about yet!’

Just then, Qin Wudao’s voice rang out again.

”Sister Gu, I presume you’re just like me—you’ve possessed this rather fine body, haven’t you?”

”To be honest, I’m quite envious of you. Whether in terms of talent or innate constitution, this body of yours is far superior to the useless one I’m currently stuck with.”

”Tsk, tsk. Simply top-grade...”

Qin Wudao stared at Gu Yuexi, his eyes gleaming with desire... not a carnal desire, but the desire to possess her body for himself! As for taking over a female form? He couldn’t care less.

Feeling his nauseating gaze, Gu Yuexi’s brow furrowed. She replied coldly,

”Hah. I’m nothing like you.”

”I am no body snatcher, nor would I ever stoop to such a despicable act.”

As they spoke, the Gate of Time leading to the third level finished forming, emitting an alluring light.

Qin Wudao gave a faint smile, apparently not bothered enough to argue the point with her.

”The Power of Space-Time in this Divine Hall of Stagnation may have vanished, but the lifespan curse left by the Witch Race is still active.”

”I began preparing this Array the very day I successfully took over this body. Even a true expert of the Emperor Realm wouldn’t be able to break free from it anytime soon.”

His gaze swept over the two of them, as if he could see right through them.

”If I’m not mistaken, you must be running low on the Wood Spirit Beads you’re using to absorb the lifespan drain in your place, aren’t you?”

”Now, I’ll give you one chance.”

”Hand over the Time Trace Hourglass you just obtained, and I’ll immediately disable the Array and let you go.”

”Otherwise, you’ll be trapped here forever, fated to die as your Lifespan is drained to nothing!”

Chu Sheng immediately buzzed twice to express his opinion.

”BUZZ! BUZZ! (Hand it over? My ass!)”

Gu Yuexi’s face was a mask of frost as she gave her cold reply.

”Don’t even think about it!”

Qin Wudao let out a dry laugh, as if he had expected their answer all along.

”It makes no difference to me. If it comes to that, I’ll just wait until your Lifespans run out and you’re dead. I can come back and collect it then. It’s all the same.”

With that, he let out a wild, arrogant laugh. Without another moment’s hesitation, he turned and stepped into the fully formed Gate of Time.

As he passed through, the Gate of Time slowly began to fade.

However, Chu Sheng and Gu Yuexi had no time to worry about the vanishing gate.

Just a few minutes earlier, the growth rings on their second-to-last Wood Spirit Bead had completely vanished, and it had crumbled into a puff of sawdust that scattered in the air.

Only the last one remained.

And now, the growth rings on that final bead were already nearly halfway gone.

In other words, they had less than twenty minutes left.

After those twenty minutes, the Array would begin consuming their own Lifespans.

The woman and the mosquito immediately began trying every method they could think of to break the damned Array.

Because Gu Yuexi had previously forced her sword three inches from its sheath, she lacked the internal power to unleash another strike of the same magnitude so soon.

She summoned three pitch-black Soul Devourer Nails. The nails transformed into three streaks of black light that slammed viciously into the runic net. The impact sent out violent waves of Energy, nearly tearing a hole in the net, but in the end, it fell short.

Chu Sheng, meanwhile, used his indestructible Realm-Breaking Claw, scratching furiously at the net of light.

’It’s working... but the Skill’s level is still too low. It would take far too long to completely tear through this massive net, personally laid by an Ancient Emperor!’

The Time Trace Hourglass they had just acquired also needed time to be refined before its true power could be unleashed, making it useless for their current predicament.

’The preparations made by an Ancient Emperor from the Divine Revelation Era are truly not so easy to overcome!’

Time ticked by mercilessly, second by second, as the pair continued their desperate attempts.

Soon, with a CRACK, the final Wood Spirit Bead could no longer bear the strain. It split apart and turned to ash.

From this moment on, for every minute they remained, a full year of their Lifespan would be forcibly stripped away.

Six days of Lifespan for every second!

Chu Sheng glanced at Gu Yuexi beside him. Her face was already growing pale.

’I’ll be fine,’ he thought, ’but... this Little Empress, no matter how talented she is, she’s still young. Best case scenario, she only has a hundred years or so of Lifespan. She can’t afford to lose it at this rate!’

’What should I do?!’

’Looks like I have no choice but to go all out and risk it all!’

Gu Yuexi, though anxious, showed no panic on her face. She was still calmly thinking of a way to break the Array.

Just then, Chu Sheng made his move.

Without a moment’s hesitation, his jet-black Silent Annihilation Battle Armor materialized around him. The very next second, he activated its most powerful mode: Tenth Gear.

Before Gu Yuexi could even react, the terrifying demonic mosquito, wreathed in crimson flames, had landed on her shoulder. One of its legs gently pressed against her.

Then, under the terrifying power of Tenth Gear, Chu Sheng began frantically burning his own Mental Power.

Boundless Wings—overclocked once more!

In the next second, a terrifying power that defied both Space and Law erupted!

Gu Yuexi and Chu Sheng’s figures vanished in an instant.

’Did it work?’

But just as the Instant Teleportation was about to carry them away...

...a system prompt suddenly rang out in Chu Sheng’s mind!

[DING!]

[Primeval Fierce Beast detected—clone of the Six-winged Black Mosquito Daoist. Can be absorbed for evolution!]

’Hm?’

Hearing the prompt, an idea flashed through Chu Sheng’s mind.

Then, almost subconsciously, he made a decision.

He forcibly severed the power of the Instant Teleportation affecting him, redirecting all of it onto Gu Yuexi, sending her—and only her—out!

His own body, like a kite with its string cut, fell from mid-air and slammed back onto the cold floor with a THUD.

The Silent Annihilation Battle Armor dematerialized.

Chu Sheng’s vision went black. His strength completely drained, the mosquito collapsed limply to the ground, unable to even twitch a leg.

...

「Meanwhile.」

In the Forest of Stagnation, Gu Yuexi’s figure materialized out of thin air.

’I’m out!’

A wave of joy washed over her, but when she turned and saw no sign of Chu Sheng, panic instantly set in.

She understood instantly what had happened.

’That stupid mosquito... he must have sent me out alone, staying behind himself, likely due to exhaustion!’

’No!’

Gu Yuexi instinctively started to rush back, only to find that the great doors of the Divine Hall of Stagnation had already closed.

Gu Yuexi had no idea about Chu Sheng’s absurdly long Lifespan. To her, he was just a Demon Beast that had evolved nine times. His Lifespan might be longer than that of an ordinary Demon Beast, but not by much.

The thought of him trapped alone in that place of certain death—where a year of Lifespan was lost every minute—was like an invisible hand squeezing her heart, the pain so intense she could hardly breathe.

She rushed to the sealed jade doors and frantically slammed her fists and her body against them, but it was useless.

For the first time since her rebirth, Gu Yuexi completely lost her composure, falling into a state of utter panic.

...

「Inside the Divine Hall.」

Chu Sheng lay limply on the floor. ’I’m not in any hurry,’ he thought. ’I’ve got two thousand years of Lifespan, so losing a little is no big deal. I might as well take a rest.’

And just then, a buzzing sound echoed next to his ear.

It wasn’t his own.

’It’s here...’

A jet-black mosquito exuding an ancient, sinister aura slowly emerged from the shadows, hovering before Chu Sheng.

”Heh heh... Junior, are you not going to rise and pay your respects to me, the Mosquito Daoist?”
