Reincarnated as a Mosquito, I Sucked the Reborn Empress to Tears

Mazes are usually spatial constructs. But this time maze was completely different. Each passage was an entirely different timeline.

This was Chu Sheng’s conclusion after some preliminary observation... which raised a question.

In this kind of time maze, how was he supposed to find the exit? Or rather... the end?

He had no clue!

No clue at all.

Chu Sheng wandered through the time maze for a good while, but he still couldn’t figure out any way to break free of it.

Moving forward in this maze felt like time-traveling; he would often inexplicably return to his starting point or suddenly appear in some other location.

It was as if... he were constantly using the [Time Reincarnation] Skill!

He tried to use his Time Realm to find his bearings, but within this vast time maze, his meager Realm Comprehension was completely useless.

Chu Sheng had a feeling... If he couldn’t find a way out, he might be trapped in here for the rest of his life!

’An opportunity? What a joke! I should just focus on getting out of here first!’

Fortunately, this wasn’t the Divine Hall, so the effects of the Lifespan curse had disappeared.

Left with no choice, Chu Sheng could only calm himself down. He stopped moving forward, remained where he was, and began to ponder a way to break through.

...

「Meanwhile.」

「In another part of the time maze.」

Qin Wudao, or rather, the Ancient Emperor, was also trapped in the maze. He had entered well over two hours before Chu Sheng, yet he still hadn’t found the exit.

Besides, within the time maze, that span of time wasn’t so simple. It could have been a single second, or it could have been ten thousand years.

Qin Wudao looked extremely haggard at this moment. On the second floor, he had looked like a dashing young master, but now, he was unshaven and scruffy, his eyes clouded.

”Almost there!”

”Just a little more, and I’ll find the exit!”

”I have lived for hundreds of years! What perilous land have I not seen? A mere time maze thinks it can trap me!”

As he spoke, he formed a hand seal. His fingers trembled nonstop as he actually forced a drop of golden blood from his right index finger.

The moment the blood appeared, Qin Wudao’s face grew even paler. And at this moment, his other fingers were already covered in wounds... Clearly, this was not the first time he had performed this Secret Technique!

The drop of golden blood fell from Qin Wudao’s fingertip to the ground and, like a living snake, slithered forward. Seeing this, Qin Wudao excitedly roused himself and chased after it.

”Soon, soon!”

Qin Wudao’s tone was frenzied as he staggered and stumbled forward!

...

「On the other side.」

Chu Sheng had already tried almost every single one of his Skills.

Now, there was only one Skill left!

The God-devouring Needle! In the end, it was still his last hope!

’Since these endless walls seem to be formed from the solidified Power of Time, then I can try to... suck it.’

This was his last resort. It was also the most core, innate ability of Chu Sheng, the ”mosquito.”

Chu Sheng cautiously approached the grayish-white ”walls” and slowly pierced one with his God-devouring Needle!

It went in! The sensation was like piercing Jell-O. And as it penetrated, a series of images uncontrollably flashed through Chu Sheng’s mind.

Some of these images were from his past, while others were of a possible future from one of the countless timelines ahead.

One second, two seconds, three seconds.

Just when Chu Sheng thought it wasn’t going to work...

[DING~]

The cold but wonderful system notification finally sounded.

[Ding! An extremely minuscule amount of Time Law has been detected. Attempting to absorb!]

’It can absorb it?’

’But what’s strange is that there’s only a minuscule amount of Time Law inside this wall. Looks like my previous guess was wrong; these walls aren’t formed from the pure Power of Time.’

’But whatever. If I can absorb it, I’ll just absorb it and see what happens!’

[Ding! Absorption successful. Time Law +10]

As the system’s voice sounded, the section of the wall in front of Chu Sheng suddenly seemed to dissolve. A hole with a radius of about ten centimeters appeared, centered on his God-devouring Needle!

Seeing this, Chu Sheng’s eyes lit up.

’Only 10 points of Time Law... but that’s not the point. The point is that the wall dissolves after the Time Law is absorbed from it!’

’What does this mean for a maze? It means I can take a shortcut! It’s like breaking right through the maze walls and going straight to the end!’

Even if it was a time maze, the same logic applied.

’Well... what the hell is there to say! This Lord Mosquito is about to go into cheat mode again!’

Chu Sheng no longer hesitated. He picked a direction and began his ”straight-line advance”!

[Ding! Time Law +10]

[Ding! Time Law +10]

[...]

Although he only absorbed 10 points of Time Law each time, every little bit added up. Chu Sheng slowly accumulated over a thousand points of Time Realm Comprehension.

This allowed his Time Realm Comprehension to finally break through Great Success and reach the Perfection Realm.

[Current Time Realm Comprehension: 6100 (Perfection)]

Finally, after passing through more than a hundred walls, Chu Sheng broke into a passage—the one leading to the exit.

At the end of this passage was a vast expanse of white light... That was the exit!

A thought stirred in Chu Sheng’s mind, and he was just about to fly toward the exit.

Suddenly, he froze. He saw that on the ground, not far from the exit, there was another figure.

This figure was lying prone on the ground, struggling to crawl toward the exit, inch by painful inch!

’Is that... Holy crap, is that Qin Wudao?’

’What happened to him? Why does he look so pathetic?’

Chu Sheng was startled... ’It seems Qin Wudao paid a hefty price to make it this far!’

’As expected of an Ancient Emperor, to actually find his way here on his own... but I’m sorry, this Lord Mosquito was one step ahead!’

’You take your time crawling. This Lord Mosquito is leaving first!’

Thinking this, Chu Sheng decisively flew toward the exit at high speed.

At the same time, Qin Wudao was on the floor, crawling with all his might, his gaze fixed on the exit with immense excitement.

Suddenly, however, he heard a faint buzzing sound.

”BUZZ... BUZZ...”

’How could there be any other sound in here? Th-that’s the sound of a mosquito?!’

Qin Wudao’s expression changed drastically! He looked up just in time to see Chu Sheng lazily drift past him overhead and fly out of the exit.

”No, no!”

”How could you have gotten in here?! How could you have passed me! You stop right there!”

Qin Wudao screamed madly as he gave chase in a frenzy. He had already used his Secret Technique to squeeze Qin Wudao’s body almost completely dry!

But Chu Sheng paid him no mind... WHOOSH, he shot out of the exit.

...

After the intense flash of light, Chu Sheng’s vision returned.

He was in a boundless, pure white world!

He looked back and discovered that the seemingly endless time maze from before was now the size of a Rubik’s Cube.

And not far in front of him was a door.

’What is this door?’

Just as the question arose in Chu Sheng’s mind, a voice rang out.

”This... is the true Gate of Time.”

”It is also the greatest opportunity and secret of this third floor.”

”Do you want to return to the time before your reincarnation? To return to your original world?”

”You can, just by opening this door.”
