System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

Lu Cheng drove over, had a meal, accompanied with drinks, expressed his gratitude and intentions, and then called for a driver service to send the two back to their community, before letting the driver service take himself home!

Tong Yuan’an and Chen Song weren’t particularly happy, but they did express a certain amount of respect towards Lu Cheng during the meal.

Because the Lu Cheng saying these things was still the Lu Cheng they met at first, they would only think Lu Cheng was an idiot.

But the Lu Cheng saying these things now was a different Lu Cheng, as Chen Song watched Lu Cheng’s basic skills, at least his suturing skills, improve from quite good to the top level among peers.

Three months!

Even if Lu Cheng put all his time into it, focusing solely on practicing suturing skills, such talent would still earn everyone’s respect.

Therefore, even though Lu Cheng turned down their temporary goodwill, Chen Song and Tong Yuan’an weren’t angry, and instead, they treated Lu Cheng as one of their kind.

Pride, who hasn’t been proud before?

…

As Lu Cheng walked from the garage into the elevator hall, he felt slightly dizzy, his vision a little blurry.

Lu Cheng didn’t restrain himself today, and was already half-drunk after a jin.

After unlocking the iron door of the underground garage with a card, Lu Cheng stood against the wall and pressed the button for the elevator, then watched his panel and corresponding regulations, a smile appearing on his lips.

[Suturing Skill (Expert 0/200) (Skill Points -40)], guidance effective, lucky break met, suturing skill elevated to expert level, suturing system skills passively elevated, for further details see specific display]

The teaching model in teaching hospitals surely has a pattern, and Lu Cheng just realized that after raising basic skills to expert level, they could passively pull a series of skills for a leap in improvement.

No wonder in teaching hospitals, whether professional masters or professional doctors, most of them practice basic skills.

It means that before they go job hunting at thirty, they don’t learn any specialist techniques, only honing basic skills.

After starting work, they formally learn specialist techniques, and within five to seven years, they transform from an ordinary ’student’ to ’attending’, ’associate chief physician’, ’associate professor’, making a name for themselves within the province.

Lu Cheng originally thought it was just talent, but in fact, the professors in teaching hospitals have long summarized the best shortcut for them!!

After internal strength improves, learning specialist techniques is not only faster but also through ’passive elevation’, saving a lot of time.

Of course, Lu Cheng also understands that the reason this ’model’ can’t be widely promoted is because some people might never overcome it in their life.

Lu Cheng is so sure of this point because of this line on the regulations—

[Suturing Skill (Expert 0/200) (Skill Points -40)], guidance effective, lucky break met, suturing skill elevated to expert level]

In other words, if the guidance is ineffective, and the lucky break is not met, it can’t be overcome?

It might be possible to overcome it, as on the panel, as long as there are enough skill points, everything can be forcibly breached, without needing guidance and luck.

[Hemostasis Technique (Specialization 15/20) (Skill Points -10)]

[Current Skill Points Balance: 4.3!]

These fifty skill points were accumulated by Lu Cheng after adding points to fracture manual reduction technique.

After experiencing the six days from September 4th to the 9th, it averaged out to 9 skill points per day.

Not much, but not too little either!

On the 7th, Lu Cheng had already added points to the Suturing Skill, then bought a few hamsters to practice on, feeding them after operations.

On the 9th, he finally added points to the Hemostasis Technique (Specialization 15/20)!

”Lack of knowledge really hits hard! ~If I’d focused more of my skill points on basic skills, who knows how many skill points I could have saved?” Lu Cheng glanced at the skill point consumption from previous additions.

However, after Lu Cheng carefully looked at the ’skill point consumption and gain regulations’, he suddenly realized.

If I don’t add points to professional skills, and only have basic skills like suturing and incision, how could I accumulate any skill points?!

So, even though improving basic skills is a shortcut, adding points to technical skills to really treat patients and gain skill points is the right path.

It’s analysable.

Take suturing skill, simple suturing can get at most 0.4 skill points, and as little as a pathetic 0.2/0.3!

Only after one hundred, two hundred suturings can there be a 40 skill point gain.

But after adding specialist techniques, by working hard enough and reducing sleep to the extreme, you can get ten points a day...

Even if not working hard enough, with alternating shifts, you can get 6-7 points a day.

Calculated this way, it’s not a loss.

”Getting older does have the downside that whatever you want to do, you have to, like a ’mean person’, find some grandiose reason for yourself...”

”This is probably what they call taking the moral high ground.” Lu Cheng didn’t think he was noble, nor did he think he was great.

Wanting to keep people in check is one thing, but you can’t say it out loud.

Lu Cheng walked into the elevator, leaning against the corner, the muscles on his back slightly indented, his eyes vacant, murmuring: ”Hypocrisy, ah, society taught it, used in society...”

”Will there be a better reason to tactfully decline the goodwill of the two teachers?” Lu Cheng murmured as he re-evaluated, still unable to find a better, more appropriate reason.

…

”Wow~~ bleegh~~~” When Lu Cheng got home, the alcohol and food rallied against him, making his throat particularly uncomfortable.

As if hot tongs were reaching into his throat, unable to go up or down, his head dizzy and aching.

Lu Cheng just sat on the chair, hugging the trash can, slumped sideways retching.

Of course, the reason for slumping sideways was to prevent accidental aspiration, Lu Cheng was only slightly conscious, not completely unconscious.

After about twenty minutes and a couple of vomits, Lu Cheng instead felt much more refreshed.

Though the buzzing vibrations of his phone continued, Lu Cheng didn’t attend to it.

He had already handed over duties with Director Lin Qianlong and had taken leave, so even if there was surgery today, Lu Cheng didn’t have to go.

Without clinical tasks, for other important matters, his parents would call him...

Waking up from a drunken sleep, Lu Cheng did not feel a headache.

This is the good thing about good alcohol, it doesn’t give you a hangover! ~

When Lu Cheng turned on his phone, it was already 6:37 PM.

The first thing Lu Cheng did was open his phone and saw many unread messages.

The first was from Mu Nanshu, there were question marks, asking if Lu Cheng was drunk, and then mentioning that Uncle Lu had called her.

Obviously, from the messages sent by Mu Nanshu, Lu Cheng didn’t pick up, so Mu Nanshu called Lu Cheng’s father, Lu Nanjia.

Next, messages from people like Lin Qianlong followed.

Asking what did Lu Cheng do at noon, the call from Professor Chen Song went unanswered, did he single-handedly take down two people...

There was also a message from Peng Kun, asking if Lu Cheng knew where Professor Tong Yuan’an was? They couldn’t reach him.

After reading, Lu Cheng immediately sat up straight, then headed out…

”Dad, Mom, are you back?” Lu Cheng saw Lu Nanjia and his mother Tian Hui.

Tian Hui immediately got up, walked towards the kitchen: ”Eating’s ready, made you a hangover soup, have a bowl...”

Lu Cheng said: ”Dad, Mom, you guys eat first, I might have to go out later tonight.”

”Still have to go out?” Tian Hui turned around, her tone suddenly rose.

Lu Nanjia gave Tian Hui a look: ”Our son’s business he arranges himself, what do you know?”

”It’s not like he’s out indulging himself.”

Tian Hui, concerned, went into the kitchen to serve soup, mumbling as she went: ”I don’t understand those big principles.”

”Indeed no indulgence, but alcohol is not a good thing...”

Wherever there are people, there is social life, dining and drinking are indeed necessary social obligations, Tian Hui understands, but she also worries.
