System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

”Hmm!~” Lu Cheng replied with a smile.

Lu Cheng also considered himself somewhat ’fortunate’ and ’favored by heaven,’ given some talent that allowed him to settle down in a small corner.

Currently, while not overwhelmingly wealthy, he could be considered moderately affluent.

Moreover, the appearance of the panel was also a compensation from heaven, so if he wished for everyone he encountered to revolve around him like a ’protagonist,’ he would be greedy.

Lu Cheng looked at Chen Song with a slightly complicated gaze, and then comforted him candidly: ”Teacher Chen, the skills Professor Tong taught me were indeed left to me.”

”Right, that’s a very high awareness!~” Chen Song gave Lu Cheng a thumbs up.

The reason Chen Song spoke to Lu Cheng about Tong Yuan’an was actually to test Lu Cheng’s mentality.

If Lu Cheng was narrow-minded, he would only see the few months of teaching by Tong Yuan’an in the countryside, which would be considered short-sighted.

However, what Chen Song didn’t expect was that after sipping a mouthful of soup, Lu Cheng subtly raised his brows, and his voice quietly reached Chen Song’s ear: ”Moreover, Teacher Chen, if I’m not mistaken, in terms of tendon suturing techniques compared to materials, I am slightly better than Teacher Tong.”

”I also have authorization for tendon suturing surgery.”

Chen Song was taken aback, and a mysterious look of admiration flashed in his eyes...

Respecting one’s teacher and valuing their path does not mean unconditionally bowing before them in servitude, and filial piety does not mean giving up everything just to accompany one’s parents.

After finishing the noodles, both of them felt completely satisfied. After settling the bill, Lu Cheng drove with Chen Song to the County Hospital.

And at seven fifty-eight in the morning, they arrived at the department.

It was just two minutes short of being late, so they arrived precisely on time.

As soon as Professor Chen Song and Lu Cheng arrived at the department, inpatient doctor Han Xiaoping rushed out from the duty room, tucking his phone into the pocket of his white coat: ”Professor Chen, Xiao Lu, you’ve arrived!~”

”Just in time for a spleen hematoma case, still undergoing preoperative checks, Director Lin said Professor Chen will be coming, so Professor Chen will lead Brother Lu to handle it.” Han Xiaoping’s tone was respectful and polite.

”Okay.” Chen Song agreed without any hesitation.

Han Xiaoping then glanced at Lu Cheng: ”Brother Lu, early this morning, Director Peng from the orthopedics department called, saying there’s a patient in our department with tendon rupture, requesting urgent consultation with orthopedics.”

”Director Lin is in the department now and has just handed over this matter.”

Lu Cheng asked, ”Brother Han, have the urgent care patient’s consent forms been handled?”

”The patient is undergoing rapid preoperative examinations, and their family members have gone to the doctor’s office, presumably someone is in conversation.” Han Xiaoping understood that Lu Cheng might feel uneasy, so he did not continue the previous topic.

With his hands behind his back, Chen Song said, ”I’ll go sort out a small pleasure first. Once the preoperative preparation is complete, Xiao Lu, give me a call.”

Chen Song couldn’t be bothered with the ’quarrel’ between the emergency department and orthopedics, so he made a quick escape, avoiding the situation altogether.

Lu Cheng went in the opposite direction from Chen Song and quickly arrived at the door of Director Lin’s office. Without putting on his work clothes, he gently knocked on the door.

”Come in.” Lin Qianlong’s voice echoed back, and a few seconds later, Lin Qianlong gestured for Lu Cheng: ”Xiao Lu, you came at the right time. I just made a call to Director Peng.”

As Lin Qianlong spoke first, Lu Cheng suppressed his thoughts and asked, ”Director Lin, what does Director Peng mean?”

”Director Peng’s suggestion is that we perform tendon sutures on odd-numbered days, and they do it on even-numbered days. If it’s an orthopedic surgery day, patients with tendon rupture should still be handled by our emergency department.”

”I think this idea is quite good. Director Peng from orthopedics is also a smart person.”

”Professor Tong will eventually return even after going to the countryside.” Lin Qianlong subtly hinted.

Lu Cheng, knowing Peng Haibo well, wasn’t surprised by this far-sighted ’suggestion’, which not only accommodated Professor Tong Yuan’an’s duty and rest time but also fostered cooperation with Lu Cheng, gradually allowing some surgeries to be handled by the emergency department, aiming at gradual encroachment.

Clearly, Peng Kun couldn’t capture all tendon rupture patients in one go. After Tong Yuan’an’s departure, for Peng Kun to continue in-depth learning about tendon suturing, he might still need to ask Lu Cheng for help.

Being in need depreciates one’s worth; Peng Haibo wouldn’t treat Lu Cheng like a fool, forcing him to a dead end when he disrespects him, and speaking kindly when he needs help.

”Seeing that both Director Lin and Director Peng have agreed, I’ll go along with your arrangements.” Lu Cheng then hid his inner thoughts.

If truly following the operation rules of the County Hospital, Lu Cheng would consider taking a walk to the Medical Affairs Department.

If he hadn’t honed the Tajima Suturing Technique to a certain degree of proficiency and hadn’t participated in a ’trial training’ with Professor Tong Yuan’an, Lu Cheng certainly wouldn’t be so ’arrogant’!

But knowing that his single-disease treatment for tendon rupture isn’t weaker than that of Professor Tong Yuan’an, Lu Cheng wouldn’t be particularly ’modest’, and would clarify everything, taking responsibility himself!

Lu Cheng is a senior attending physician, not a low-level Inpatient Doctor without secondary surgery permissions…

Around half-past eight, Chen Song took Lu Cheng to the operating room for Spleen Preservation Surgery.

At eight forty-five, disinfection was completed.

At nine o’clock, after Chen Song completed local operations, he handed it over to Lu Cheng.

Around nine-thirty, Chen Song stood stunned on the stage, somewhat pensive, and then said with a lingering tone: ”Xiao Lu, did you study a move with Tong Yuan’an called ’playing fair’?”

”You made him emo, so you must let me have a myocardial infarction for a while?” Chen Song’s tone was cautious.

”Teacher Chen?” Lu Cheng looked up, full of confusion.

”Your skill level? It’s just too…”

”You’re not only likely to have no friends, but also no teachers.”

In just over ten days, Lu Cheng not only learned a new tendon suturing technique, but also achieved new skills in Spleen Preservation Surgery. This rapid progress made Chen Song, as a teacher, somewhat apprehensive.

It’s anticipated that Lu Cheng could finish his apprenticeship before his countryside stint was over.

”Teacher Chen, it’s truly due to your excellent teaching.” Lu Cheng’s voice was sincere.

For Spleen Preservation Surgery, Lu Cheng attributed his skills entirely to Chen Song’s guidance and regular practice.

Chen Song greatly appreciated the flattery from Lu Cheng, nodding slightly: ”You have a good foundation and innate talent, leading to your current state.”

”Let’s not discuss that. How’s the squabble between your department and orthopedics going?”

”Generally speaking, we’re about seven, they’re three.”

”On the surface, we perform surgeries on odd-numbered days, and they handle cases on even-numbered days, but orthopedics also has surgery days and weekends where Professor Tong can rest.”

Chen Song wasn’t surprised: ”Indeed, Tong Yuan’an, who focuses on ’playing fair’.”

”It seems he understood the matter you mentioned to me this morning; his thoughts are more meticulous than mine.”

”Xiao Lu, you have some qualities; in just over a month, you ’ousted’ Tong Yuan’an in tendon rupture suturing!~” Chen Song gasped in amazement.

Lu Cheng continued the suturing of subcutaneous tissue, an area Chen Song barely regarded, and earnestly answered: ”Teacher Chen, your remark belongs to ’killing with praise.’

”Firstly, Professor Tong’s expertise definitely isn’t in tendon suturing, but in genuine hand surgery techniques.”

”Secondly, the suturing technique developed by Professor Tajima, in cooperation with Professor Tsuge’s concepts, is strong enough to provide me an opportunity for surpassing.”

”Tendon suturing, a procedure your hospital doesn’t even regard, and are reluctant to handle. What’s there to say?” Lu Cheng’s voice was calm, a testament to his clear-sightedness.

Chen Song clicked his tongue a few times, very pleased with Lu Cheng’s performance.

Chen Song was generous with his compliments to Lu Cheng: ”Tong Yuan’an, who never rises without profit, and focuses on fairness, will eventually suffer, and there will be a day he regrets it.”
