System Came When the Doctor was Thirty

The essence of conventional academic selection is to meet academic standards, focusing on the completeness of the knowledge system.

The exceptional granting of degrees occurs when a certain position emphasizes practical experience or innovative results more, prompting educational institutions to reform. For instance, some universities have already introduced the ”credit bank” system, allowing work achievements to offset certain credits.

For example, in the materials Mu Nanshu sent to Lu Cheng, there is a ’high-score article benchmarking’ surgical technique ’directory’ regarding hand surgery, the general framework of research achievements required to be exceptionally awarded a master’s degree, contributions to patent results...

There are not only existing official documents but also some internal files, which specifically explain the directions Lu Cheng can choose to study.

For instance, Lu Cheng can now complete ’upper limb function reconstruction surgery,’ and based on this research, develop a new surgical technique breakthrough. This can not only be seen as Lu Cheng publishing a high-score article but also as an opportunity to publish a paper demonstrating Lu Cheng’s research capability.

Once enough research accumulation is achieved, a comprehensive evaluation can be provided by the professional committee of the medical association, seeking university affiliation for exceptional granting of a professional master’s degree.

Including but not limited to a master’s degree.

Moreover, Mu Nanshu provided a very typical special case, where an undergraduate student in the Mathematics Department at Zhongnan University directly advanced to professorship for solving a conjecture in the Mathematics Department, truly stepping onto the absolute Cyan Cloud Ladder...

Generally, what paths must an average person, even with aptitude, follow to become a professor at Zhongnan University?

A doctoral degree is the starting point, assistant lecturer, lecturer, associate professor...

Skipping multiple stages such as master’s, doctorate, university retention, lecturer, etc.!!!

The last document was something Lu Cheng hadn’t seen, ”The Arrangement Regarding Selection and Assessment of Grassroots Medical and Health Doctors in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture”.

”The general idea is that in November this year, the Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture People’s Hospital will select a batch of outstanding doctors from towns and county hospitals within the State to work in good institutions like Xiangzhou People’s Hospital, Ji City People’s Hospital”…

”Look, you are getting flustered again.” Lu Cheng answered irrelevant to Mu Nanshu’s sent files.

Upon seeing Mu Nanshu again, she indeed appeared much more mature than before, not so ’naïve,’ but Lu Cheng knew Mu Nanshu was actually a ’silly’ person.

’Silly’ being somewhat timid, only daring to choose schools she could attend with certainty, sticking strictly to rules for her studies.

You could say, from elementary school to now, the most exceptional thing she had done was to give up a ’master’s degree’ at Fudan and directly go abroad.

”I did not.” Mu Nanshu typed back.

”Hmm, so all these were just incidental, these notes just aligned perfectly, huh.” Lu Cheng replied.

On Mu Nanshu’s side, it showed as typing for a long time, failing to send anything substantive.

Lu Cheng didn’t want Mu Nanshu to be overly tangled: ”Let me thoroughly study these details and then answer you. I still need to hear what the two teachers will say...”

Lu Cheng did not directly agree.

The exceptional academic awarding is certainly a shortcut, but such high-end surgical techniques transcend most teaching hospital surgeries. They must be learned with teacher guidance and cannot be mastered merely by reading books, watching videos, or looking at literature.

Otherwise, these techniques would not be held in such high esteem.

And learning surgery still requires finding a teacher, learning is unpredictable without knowing how long it will take, what prerequisites must be met before entry, and the amount of time it requires...

Mu Nanshu said: ”Okay, this time we must strive for perfection, identifying all obstacles and tricky angles, before making a decision.”

”If you can go somewhere else, I’ll try to mobilize over there.”

Lu Cheng read this information and did not reply further.

No matter how many times he explained his initial choice to study at Huashan Hospital and subsequently chose not to pursue further studies, those were his decisions. Yet, from Mu Nanshu’s perspective, she had her own thoughts.

Actually, Mu Nanshu did not go missing then; her academic burden was heavy.

An undergraduate from China suddenly went abroad; adapting to foreign academic systems is challenging.

Even Mu Nanshu ended up ’delaying graduation.’

...

Twenty minutes later, Tong Yuan’an put down his phone, looked at Chen Song, then stood up and twisted his plump buttocks.

”Xiao Songzi, can you do it or not? If not, stop resisting.”

”What were you doing all this time?” Tong Yuan’an glanced at Chen Song.

Chen Song was still typing furiously, lifting his head with a hoarse voice like a dry duck: ”I was messing around with your grandpa...”

Tong Yuan’an said: ”Xiao Lu, Director Tan from our department has agreed, and you can get a direct doctoral professional slot. During your study, you can enjoy many privileges, including but not limited to scholarships during your doctoral study.”

”Also, if your learning pace continues quickly, our hand surgery department is willing to sweep the bed to welcome anytime.”

”Meaning, during your professional doctorate, you can equally be compensated for work.”

The conditions provided by Tong Yuan’an were generous, with high subsidies during doctorate study plus equal compensation, meaning Lu Cheng is essentially ’working,’ merely working more years, getting promoted slightly slower.

Chen Song cursed and raised his head, his tone unnatural: ”Tong Yuan’an, do you have no shame, are you ignoring the rules of the game?”

Tong Yuan’an disdainfully replied: ”The rules of the game are the law of the jungle, not first come first served.”

”Friendship is friendship, but let me ask you one question, what were you doing earlier? Are your eyes blind?”

”Is it just one day or two days? Two months plus, what were you doing, Chen Song!!”

At this moment, Chen Song finally saw the message from Director Xiang Dongshan: ”Xiao Chen, your request is excessive.”

”For someone I’ve never met, you ask me to offer so many advantages; isn’t it a bit exaggerated?”

”If you can bring him over for me to see, that would be compliant and reasonable.”

Chen Song replied again: ”Director Xiang, the issue is, Xiao Lu might end up going with Tong Yuan’an to Xiangya Hospital.”

Xiang Dongshan replied: ”Let him go. There’s plenty of talent in the world; who can catch all the talent?”

”I’ve laid out my bottom line clearly: bring the person over, let me see, and if I deem it acceptable, all you asked is not a problem.”

Chen Song looked at Tong Yuan’an, who was facing away from Chen Song, looking at Lu Cheng, waiting for a reply.

However, Lu Cheng was also looking intently at him, seeming equally like waiting obediently for an answer. Chen Song momentarily didn’t know how to begin, using his right hand forcefully to rub his face.

He was an associate professor but lacked actual personnel rights and decision-making power. He himself couldn’t apply for that much ’exceptionality.’

Lu Cheng immediately perceived Chen Song’s difficulty and cautiously said: ”Teachers, could you allow me to say a few words?”

”Speak!~” Lu Cheng wanted to talk, and Tong Yuan’an and Chen Song just paused.

Lu Cheng carefully considered, then bluntly said: ”Teachers, actually I harbor a persistence, hoping to defeat some people without having studied for a master’s or doctorate.”

”This is the reason I didn’t choose to re-match for graduate exam before...”

Tong Yuan’an and Chen Song were instantly stiffened upon hearing this, Tong Yuan’an’s fat face crumpled into a chrysanthemum, Chen Song’s lower jaw retracted, tightly pressing his chin against his collarbone, nearly squeezing himself out of breath.

”Why?” Chen Song was the most puzzled.
