Super Gene Hunting Ground

Wu Dai sighed and said:

”I can temporarily reside in your body. As long as you don’t die, I won’t disappear either.”

”Does this mean we can coexist?”

”You could say that.”

”Is there a way I can transfer your consciousness and soul to someone else, and find you a new host?”

”It’s possible, but not currently.”

”Why not?”

”My spiritual power is currently weak and unable to form a second Soul Ball.”

”Will you be able to do it in the future?”

”I need to recover for a period within your body, borrowing your body to regain some energy.”

”Oh!”

...

The two fell into silence.

Yang Xiao suddenly remembered something and asked:

”Is there any negative impact on me with you inside my body?”

”I’m not controlling your consciousness, so how could I affect you?”

”Can you know everything I do?”

”I’m not interested in your trivial matters.”

”...”

”Alright, let’s agree on this: You won’t control me, and I’ll give you time to restore your spiritual power. Once you can form a Consciousness Soul Ball again, I’ll help you find a suitable host. How about it?”

”Can I say no?”

”No, you can’t!”

”...”

In the following days, Yang Xiao continued practicing the Flying Leopard Divine Skill as usual, along with his daily routines.

Wu Dai’s consciousness no longer disturbed Yang Xiao. According to Wu Dai, as his consciousness could not take over Yang Xiao’s body, he had no choice but to sleep and rest to gather strength.

In the dormant state, Wu Dai’s consciousness couldn’t perceive Yang Xiao’s actions.

Yang Xiao felt a sense of relief.

However, knowing there was someone else’s consciousness inside him, monitoring everything he did, made Yang Xiao uncomfortable. He was determined to rid himself of this annoying presence as soon as possible.

”Don’t always think about getting rid of me. You should focus on practicing your lousy cultivation techniques.”

”Damn it, aren’t you supposed to be asleep? Stop eavesdropping on my thoughts.”

”I can’t help it. Once I’m awake, I can hear what you’re thinking. Yesterday, you were thinking about your wife and kids. You really love that wife of yours, right?”

”Shut up, you rascal!”

”Hehe...”

Yang Xiao felt he could hardly tolerate having this guy residing in his mind for even a single day.

He went to the Book Collection Pavilion at the Imperial College and searched through all the books but couldn’t find any about body seizing.

”Stop looking. There’s no cultivation technique for body seizing on Witch Star. Only we Dwarf Star people have such a magical technique, and only those above the Emperor Level Realm can practice it,

so even on Dwarf Star, it’s rare to find public library materials about body seizing.”

Yang Xiao realized he couldn’t do anything about Wu Dai’s consciousness, so he simply ignored him and continued with his life as usual.

Occasionally, feeling bored, Yang Xiao would initiate a conversation with Wu Dai to learn more about the Dwarf Star people.

”What’s the situation with you Dwarf Star folks? Why did you invade Witch Star?”

”...”

”Your entire army was wiped out this time. How will you explain to your leaders back home? Won’t they kill you?”

”...”

”Who’s the leader of the Dwarf Star? Are they powerful?”

”...”

Wu Dai rarely shared secrets about Dwarf Star and was reluctant to answer Yang Xiao’s questions.

Yang Xiao thought for a moment and said:

”I heard that five hundred years ago, you Dwarf Star people also attacked Witch Star and were completely defeated. Why have you come again after five hundred years?

Don’t you learn from your mistakes, always running over to meet your demise? Does that make sense?”

”Hmph, you cheeky kid. Don’t try to weasel information out of me. I won’t tell you anything. Anyway, your good days on Witch Star are over. Once our leader personally comes to Witch Star, you’re all doomed.”

Yang Xiao was shocked but pretended to be calm and said:

”Boasting again, huh? How powerful could your leader be? Don’t you know we have the nine Elders of the Genetic Store Elder Court, along with the Emperor of Great Dragon, Flying Leopard Emperor, White Elephant Emperor, and over a dozen Emperor Level Realm extraordinary experts? What’s the difference between your Dwarf Star folks coming here and courting death?”

”Bah, a mere dozen or so Emperor Level Realm extraordinary experts are nothing! You haven’t seen my leader’s prowess. Have you ever encountered a Saint Level Realm extraordinary expert? If you did, you’d be scared silly, hehe...”

”Yeah, right. If your leader is so amazing, why isn’t he here? Why send you underlings to your death?”

”I’m not boasting. As soon as our leader arrives, he can wipe you all out with a flick of his finger. Elders, emperors, they’re nothing.”

”Keep blowing that horn. You’re already responsible for the deaths of thousands, and there’s hardly anything left of you besides a bit of consciousness and soul. From what I see, your leader is just hiding, sending you as sacrificial pawns. If you gain a foothold, maybe he’ll come over. If you lose, he’ll hide away, too scared to come to Witch Star, right?”

”Nonsense! You little brat know nothing! Do you know about Thanos Saint’s battle with the eight Saint Level Supremes on Witch Star five hundred years ago?

Our leader singlehandedly battled eight Saint Level Supreme experts. Imagine the gallantry! Once Thanos Saint arrives, he’ll flatten your Witch Star in an instant.”

Yang Xiao was stunned and said:

”Bragging again. Thanos died five hundred years ago. How could he possibly come to Witch Star? Do your brain a favor while boasting, will you? Wait, right, you don’t have a brain now.”

Wu Dai, provoked by Yang Xiao’s words, retorted:

”What do you know? Five hundred years ago, Thanos perished with the eight Saint Level Supremes, but though Thanos Saint’s body perished, at the crucial moment, he condensed his Consciousness Soul Ball, which was taken back to Dwarf Star Planet by his subordinates at the time, and he was reborn.”

”Thanos was reborn? Impossible!”

”Why impossible?”

”If Thanos was reborn, why wait five hundred years to attack Witch Star? Moreover, send incompetent subordinates over here? It’s illogical!”

Wu Dai, exasperated, shouted:

”You know nothing!”

”Then give a reasonable explanation. Why did Thanos wait five hundred years after being reborn to attack Witch Star?”

”You don’t understand anything. Rebirth doesn’t mean instantly becoming your former self. Rebirth is merely acquiring a new life form, and the Genetic Evolution Realm depends on the Evolution Level of the host.

We picked the most talented individuals from Dwarf Star with Evolution Talent to give Thanos new life and rebirth.

But as man proposes and God disposes, despite this new host’s high Evolution Talent, upon reaching the Emperor Level Realm, Thanos reached a bottleneck in further evolution.

After expending countless resources and energy, Thanos failed to break through to the Saint Level Realm and was forced to kill his host to search for a new one.

Unexpectedly, Thanos fell into a vicious cycle where none of the selected hosts could break through to the Saint Level Realm. This host is now the tenth.”

Yang Xiao was shocked,

”Whoa, Thanos has been reborn ten times?”

”Hehe, to be precise, I don’t even know how many times Thanos has been reborn, because even before five hundred years ago, he had been reborn several times.”

Yang Xiao was puzzled and said:

”Still doesn’t add up!”

”What’s off?”

”Why didn’t Thanos just find a Saint Level Realm host for rebirth?”

”Hmph, you think there are Saint Level Realm people everywhere? How many Saint Level Realm extraordinary experts does your Witch Star Continent have?”

Yang Xiao fell silent; as of now, there are no Saint Level Realm extraordinary experts left on Witch Star Continent.

Wu Dai continued:

”Rebirth requires strong consciousness and soul energy, but after Thanos died, the Conscious Soul Ball’s energy was only at the Emperor Level at best, not strong enough to engulf a Saint Level host’s consciousness. He could only find an Emperor Level host.”

”According to you, Thanos should have broken through to the Saint Level Realm by now, right?”

”Of course, Thanos Saint hasn’t personally set out this time because he’s cultivating a new technique and needs a period of seclusion. We just came ahead to scout Witch Star. We hid in the Snow Peak Ice Valley at the North Pole but were discovered by you guys,

hehe, once Thanos Saint’s cultivation is complete, you’ll be facing death,

but if you agree to let me seize your body, you won’t have to die. How about considering it?”

”In your dreams! I’d rather die than become your puppet.”

”Hmph, then get ready to die. I only hope that before you die, I have enough time to successfully form a Consciousness Soul Ball again and get another chance at rebirth.”

”Don’t even think about it. If I die, I’ll make sure your consciousness is obliterated.”

”...”

”Too much, kid! No love lost in an instant!”
