Super Gene Hunting Ground

The hall of the Go tournament was silent.

Everyone looked at the fallen Long Hang and the calmly seated Yang Xiao, their hearts deeply shocked by Yang Xiao’s calm demeanor.

Two guards squeezed through the crowd and walked over to the fallen Long Hang, quickly helping him up and feeding him a Big Blood Pill.

Long Aotian and Long Jing stood in the crowd, neither of them stepping forward.

Long Jing wanted to see Yang Xiao but hesitated.

Long Aotian, on the other hand, was filled with hatred and didn’t want to give Yang Xiao the opportunity to ridicule him in such an embarrassing situation.

After taking the Big Blood Pill, Long Hang, supported by the guards, finally caught his breath and woke up from the stupor. He opened his eyes, glanced at everyone watching, and finally set his gaze on Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao smiled faintly:

”Long Hang, are you alright?”

Long Hang’s face turned awkward, he smiled bitterly:

”Yang, not only is your spiritual power strong, but your Go skills are far beyond mine. I admit my loss wholeheartedly.”

”Oh, not at all. It was just good luck that I won by chance. Go home and rest well.”

Long Hang nodded and left with the support of the guards.

Everyone looked at Yang Xiao and burst into a chorus of admiration.

Flying Leopard Empire’s Eldest Prince Wanyan He and the Chess Institute Director Wanyan Hong walked up to Yang Xiao, excitedly saying:

”Brother Yang, congratulations! You’ve even defeated the deputy director of the Great Dragon Empire Chess Institute. That’s impressive!”

Yang Xiao chuckled, and the three left together.

From their conversation, it was revealed that the Eldest Prince was eliminated in the first round, while Wanyan Hong successfully advanced.

The Eldest Prince’s original Go skills and spiritual power were average, so his elimination was anticipated.

Wanyan Hong said:

”Brother Yang, I find it strange. How did you meet the deputy director of the Great Dragon Empire Chess Institute in the first round, and your battle was so bloody? It was the most terrifying match of the day.

Even in finals, few people fight like you did, this wasn’t a Go game, but rather a battle of spiritual power.”

Yang Xiao laughed:

”You’re right, we weren’t playing Go; we were competing in spiritual power.”

The Eldest Prince was surprised and asked:

”Was that necessary?”

”It wasn’t my intention; rather, Long Hang kept dragging me into a spiritual power duel, trying to kill me. But he didn’t anticipate that my spiritual power and Go skills were far superior.”

”So, this was specifically targeted at you?”

Yang Xiao nodded,

”I killed Long Kui and the War God, making me an enemy of the Great Dragon Empire. While they can’t openly assassinate me, they use tournaments like this to try to kill me through spiritual combat skills.”

Hearing this, the Eldest Prince became slightly alarmed and said:

”Brother Yang, what about the subsequent matches? Especially since the Great Dragon Empire Chess Institute still has an unparalleled expert, the top Grandmaster, whose spiritual power is unmatched in Witch Star.”

”No worries, one step at a time. If they want to kill me, it’s not going to be easy.”

As per the tournament schedule, there was only one match each day, allowing participants to spend the remaining time freely.

The three returned to the Royal Inn, ate, rested, and to avoid unnecessary trouble, stayed inside to rest and chat over Go.

...

Long Hang’s spiritual power was damaged, leaving him with a splitting headache and a disoriented mind.

Long Aotian glanced at Long Hang and asked:

”Deputy Director, what happened today when you played Go against Yang Xiao?”

Long Hang sighed and said:

”Prince, Yang Xiao’s spiritual power and Go skills are far superior to mine, I wasn’t a match for him.”

Long Aotian had known this, but hearing it from Long Hang surprised him.

”You are the highest level in our Great Dragon Empire apart from the Grandmaster, yet even you can’t match Yang Xiao? What kind of monster is he?”

Long Hang thought for a moment, then with a slight movement of Divine Sense, a piece from the Chess Bowl flew onto the table.

Long Hang immediately swept the pieces together with his hand, covering them.

Long Aotian stared blankly at Long Hang.

Long Hang said:

”Prince, can you guess how many pieces are here?”

Long Aotian looked bewildered,

”I, how would I know?”

Long Hang sighed, released his hands, and said:

”I don’t know either, but Yang Xiao could guess correctly. His spiritual power far surpasses ours, and his Go skills may be the highest I’ve seen apart from the Grandmaster.”

”Really?”

Long Aotian heard Long Hang’s words, gaped, his mind blank, not knowing how to respond.

Good grief, how could Yang Xiao be so formidable?

Long Aotian contemplated briefly and said:

”Come with me to see the Emperor; only Father can decide on this matter. Someone as powerful as Yang Xiao, being our adversary, cannot leave Dragon City alive, or it spells endless trouble.”

...

Long Aotian and Long Hang went to the Royal Palace and reported the match between Long Hang and Yang Xiao to the Emperor of Great Dragon.

The Emperor listened, his face heavy with contemplation, then said:

”I didn’t expect Yang Xiao to be so formidable. It seems that few can defeat him using spiritual power in Go. Ao Tian, you’re the host of the contest; based on the participant information you’ve received, are there others whose Go skills surpass Yang Xiao’s?”
