Super Gene Hunting Ground

Zhang Can rushed back to the Snow Wolf Empire overnight, arriving at the royal palace to request an audience with the Emperor.

The guards were familiar with Zhang Can, and upon seeing him covered in blood, in a pitiful state, they exclaimed in surprise:

”General Zhang, what happened to you? Why are you the only one returning? What about the Prince and the others?”

”Don’t ask. I need to see the Emperor immediately, hurry and report this.”

The guard hesitated for a moment, then said:

”General, it’s already midnight now; the Emperor is probably asleep.”

”Wake him up if he’s asleep, hurry, the matter is urgent.”

General Zhang held a high status in the empire and usually enjoyed the Emperor’s trust.

The guard felt uneasy about the situation and quickly said,

”Alright, then follow me. First, rest in the main hall outside the Emperor’s sleeping quarters while I go inform him.”

Zhang Can, along with the guard, entered the inner parts of the royal palace and arrived outside the Emperor’s sleeping quarters. Zhang Can first waited in the nearby main hall, while the guard headed straight to the sleeping chambers.

The Snow Wolf Emperor was sound asleep, holding a beauty, when a series of urgent shouts woke him from his slumber.

”Your Majesty, General Zhang requests an audience, Your Majesty, General Zhang requests an audience with urgent news.”

The Snow Wolf Emperor opened his drowsy eyes and said rather unwillingly:

”Who is it, so late? Can’t this wait until tomorrow?”

The guard outside the sleeping quarters said:

”Your Majesty, General Zhang has returned from the North Pole, seems to be injured, covered in blood, the situation appears urgent.”

Upon hearing this, the Snow Wolf Emperor was startled and immediately fully awake. He sat up, hurriedly dressed, and exited the sleeping quarters.

”Where is General Zhang? Has the Eldest Prince returned with him?”

”Your Majesty, General Zhang is waiting for you in the adjacent main hall; I haven’t seen the Eldest Prince or the others.”

”Let’s go, take a look!”

The Snow Wolf Emperor felt a bit unsettled and quickly walked towards the nearby main hall.

”General Zhang, why have you returned, what happened?”

The Snow Wolf Emperor shouted before even entering the main hall.

Zhang Can was inside resting, exhausted from the night’s journey and his injuries, having just recovered a bit by drinking two bowls of hot tea.

”Your Majesty!”

With a pained cry, Zhang Can stood up abruptly from the chair and kneeled before the Snow Wolf Emperor, tears streaming down his face.

The Snow Wolf Emperor was taken aback and quickly supported Zhang Can with both hands,

”General Zhang, why are you doing this?”

”Your Majesty, I deserve to die; I failed to take care of the Eldest Prince. Almost our entire team was annihilated, and I barely escaped to bring you the news. Your Majesty, I have failed you, I have failed the Eldest Prince!”

”Ah!”

The Snow Wolf Emperor stood in a daze, this news hit him like a thunderbolt on a clear day, exploding continuously in his mind.

After a long while, the Snow Wolf Emperor asked trembling,

”Zhang Can, what exactly happened? Please, tell me quickly!”

Zhang Can briefly recounted the events,

”... Your Majesty, the opponent’s realm is extremely high, likely above the Emperor Level Realm, we were no match for him!”

”Emperor Level Realm? Did you see clearly who it was?”

”I didn’t recognize him, I’ve never seen this person before, about two meters tall, wearing white armor, even his hair is white. Standing there, with a layer of snow on him, he looked like a giant snowman.”

The Snow Wolf Emperor pondered for a moment, internally terrified, a transcendent expert of Emperor Level Realm was absolutely not someone he could confront directly.

”Your Majesty, this matter is definitely not simple, we can only seek help from the Youming Empire, requesting them to send people to assist us in pursuing this individual within the Arctic Ice Mountain.”

The Snow Wolf Emperor sighed deeply.

”At this point, there’s no other choice; tomorrow morning, accompany me to the Youming Empire.”

...

On Witch Star, the three largest empires are Youming Empire, Great Dragon Empire, and Flying Leopard Empire; the hundreds of smaller empires mostly rely on one of these three empires.

The Snow Wolf Empire is a vassal country of the Youming Empire, so when they encounter danger, they seek help from the Youming Empire.

At the White Elephant Emperor’s royal palace, after listening to Zhang Can’s account of the events that occurred on the Arctic Ice Mountain, everyone was filled with astonishment.

”A transcendent expert of Emperor Level Realm, how could such a person be staying on the Arctic Ice Mountain?”

”Throughout the Witch Star Continent, there are only a handful of people with Emperor Level Realm, all of them hold positions and status; they would never kill indiscriminately without reason!”

”This matter is very strange!”

”Moreover, continuously killing so many members of the Fox Hunting Teams, he must have an unknown motive.”

...

Everyone was discussing intensely.

The Snow Wolf Emperor bowed to the White Elephant Emperor and said:

”Brother Bai, please, you must help me with this matter, my child died tragically at the hands of the opponent; only you can avenge this for me.”

The White Elephant Emperor nodded and said,

”Don’t worry, calm down and accept the situation; I’m also saddened by such an event. Rest assured, I will certainly solve this issue for you,”

After the White Elephant Emperor finished speaking, he turned to a subordinate in the hall and said:

”King Qingtian, this matter is entrusted to you; take a hundred guards of Empire Level Advanced realm to the Arctic Ice Mountain and see who is killing indiscriminately.”

King Qingtian was of Emperor Level realm cultivation, holding significant power and status in the Youming Empire, and was conferred the title of King by the White Elephant Emperor.

King Qingtian immediately bowed and said:

”Your Majesty, may I invite Director Bai to accompany me?”

The Director Bai mentioned by King Qingtian is Bai Shijing, the director of White Elephant Academy, and also a transcendent expert of Emperor Level realm.

With two transcendent experts of Emperor Level realm accompanying, the situation would be much more secure.

The White Elephant Emperor nodded and said:

”Very well, go and get Director Bai to accompany you to the Arctic Ice Mountain, remember to be safe and take more guards with you.”

”Yes, thank you, Emperor.”

...

Two days later, King Qingtian, Director Bai, and the Snow Wolf Emperor, brought along one hundred guards of Empire Level Advanced realm from the Youming Empire, as well as two thousand elite guards from the Snow Wolf Empire, and marched majestically into the Arctic Ice Mountain.

Zhang Can, following his memory, advanced along the route from the past few days, and quickly arrived at the battle scene from that day.

The people of the Snow Wolf Empire were somewhat overwhelmed upon arrival at the battlefield. Now, on the icy ground, the corpses of forty to fifty people lay scattered; these were the bodies of the Snow Wolf Empire guards who died in battle days ago, now frozen solid.

Seeing the scene, with blood everywhere, shattered bodies, the sight was unbearable.

The Snow Wolf Emperor found his son’s body, flung himself onto it, and cried out loud,

”My child, you died such a miserable death!”

King Qingtian and Director Bai examined the situation of the dozens of corpses on the ground, both with grave expressions and furrowed brows.

”Director Bai, what do you think?”

”If I’m not mistaken, this person has extremely high cultivation and formidable combat power, at least above the Emperor Level Realm.”

”I can’t understand it; the Arctic Ice Mountain is perpetually cold, with no food available, why would an expert of Emperor Level Realm come here and consecutively kill so many fox hunters; what is his purpose?”

”There aren’t many Emperor Level evolvers on Witch Star, and all are people of status and standing. Even if there are misunderstandings or enmities, they would challenge each other openly, never would they hide and kill indiscriminately.”

...

The two discussed, exchanged opinions, and then approached the Snow Wolf Emperor, saying:

”Brother Snow Wolf, please accept our condolences; let’s keep moving forward and see if we can find the culprit and avenge the Prince.”

The Snow Wolf Emperor stood up, wiped his tears, his eyes filled with rage, and said fiercely:

”Alright, let us continue to search; if we find this person, I will eat his flesh to quench the hatred in my heart!”

The Snow Wolf Emperor gestured, and said to the more than two thousand guards behind him:

”Everyone pay attention, if you encounter the culprit, attack with all your might, I will reward you heavily!”

”Yes!”

The crowd roared in unison.

”Move out!”

With the Snow Wolf Emperor’s command, the large force began to advance towards the distant ice mountains.
