Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao chatted for a while with Liu Suifeng and Chen Rong. Yang Xiao and Chen Rong, like siblings, shared a close bond, and he also got along very well with Liu Suifeng.

Yang Xiao invited the two to visit the Purple Source Star repeatedly,

”If you don’t want to stay here, you can come to the Purple Source Star. There are about five or six hundred compatriots from Earth there, and I’m establishing an academy on the Purple Source Star. The two of you could teach everyone how to cultivate spiritual power.”

Liu Suifeng said:

”Brother Yang, Chen and I won’t stay in the Great Dragon Empire for too long. The Emperor of Great Dragon currently trusts and relies on us. It’s not dangerous for us to stay here for now, and perhaps in the future, we might be of some help to you.”

Yang Xiao didn’t press further and said:

”Brother Liu and Chen, take care. If you encounter danger, go directly to the Flying Leopard Empire Capital to find Wanyan He, the Eldest Prince, or go to the Flying Leopard Academy to find Dean Xinghai. They will provide you with assistance.”

”Alright.”

Yang Xiao stood up to take his leave.

Liu Suifeng took out a book from his Space Ring and handed it to Yang Xiao.

Yang Xiao was puzzled, ”What’s this?”

”This is my insights and experiences in cultivating spiritual power and Go since coming to the Witch Star. I thought you might find it useful in the future. It’s no use to me since I’ve memorized it already.”

Yang Xiao, very pleased, accepted it solemnly and said:

”Then I won’t stand on ceremony with Brother Liu. Thank you.”

”Brother Yang, from what you told me about the current situation on Earth, I think Earth’s future might depend on you.”

”We are all citizens of Earth, with the responsibility and duty to protect our homeland. When the time is right, I’ll bring both of you back to Earth.

Brother Liu, Chen, the two of you, take care!”

”Take care!”

Yang Xiao left the Great Dragon Empire Chess Institute.

Chen Rong watched Yang Xiao’s departing figure, and thought of her parents and family, tears welled up again.

Liu Suifeng embraced Chen Rong, suppressing his inner pain, and said:

”Chen, now is not the time for sadness. Currently, Yang Xiao has taken a significant step towards saving Earth. I think we should also help Yang Xiao and fight alongside him.”

”Brother Liu, you’re right, I’ll listen to you.”

”I’ve decided to swear loyalty to the Emperor of Great Dragon and join the Gold Medal Guard Team of the Great Dragon Imperial Dynasty. As a condition, you will become a hostage and cannot leave the Chess Institute without permission.”

Chen Rong said solemnly:

”What does it matter, as long as you’re able to break through the Genetic Evolution to the Empire Level Advanced realm or even the Emperor Level Realm. What do a bit of grievance matter? Besides, I’ve gotten used to staying in the Chess Institute, having rarely gone out these past years.”

”Good!”

Liu Suifeng and Chen Rong embraced each other, warming each other and providing mutual encouragement.

Until today, they had always been lonely, believing only the two of them had left Earth to survive on this unfamiliar planet.

Today, after meeting Yang Xiao, their lonely hearts suddenly felt warmth and encouragement.

Although the disaster Earth faced was far beyond their imagination, Yang Xiao had already opened a path, which allowed them to see light and hope.

...

On the morning of the next day, the participants of the Go competition gradually arrived at the Great Dragon Empire Chess Institute, waiting for the Emperor of Great Dragon to personally announce the list of winners.

According to the competition schedule, there would be a reception banquet at noon, at which the Emperor of Great Dragon would personally attend to host the participants from various empires, fulfilling the host’s duty.

Although the Great Dragon Empire had been declining recently, being able to personally attend the Emperor of Great Dragon’s reception banquet was a rare honor.

After breakfast, everyone gradually arrived at the Chess Institute.

What surprised everyone a little was the presence of numerous guards outside the Chess Institute today, with noticeably increased numbers inside the Chess Institute as well.

”Why are there so many guards today? It feels so tense.”

”It’s quite normal; today, the Emperor of Great Dragon is coming to present awards personally, so naturally, vigilance should be heightened.”

”Hmm, that makes sense.”

”But, I still feel a bit uneasy; the Emperor of Great Dragon is a supreme powerhouse at the Emperor Level Realm, an invincible symbol himself, who would be foolish enough to provoke the Emperor of Great Dragon?”

”Sigh, never mind, let’s just go inside the Chess Institute and wait for the award ceremony to begin.”

...

At exactly nine in the morning, over a hundred contestants participating in the Go competition, along with dozens of guests, gathered in the main hall of the Chess Institute. On the podium, not only was the legendary first Grandmaster Chen Rong present, but there was also another elegant and distinguished handsome man, Liu Suifeng.

Besides these two, Long Aotian and Long Jing were also on the podium.

The two exquisite beauties, Long Jing and Chen Rong, sat together, whispering to each other.

Liu Suifeng remained indifferent throughout, and when Long Aotian, sitting beside him, tried to chat with him a few times, he only responded perfunctorily.

Wanyan He noticed the presence of dozens of fully armed guards within the main hall today, including four Golden Armor Guards.

”Does the Emperor of Great Dragon need such a grand arrangement at his appearance? This is Dragon City.”

Wanyan Hong chuckled and said:

”The Great Dragon Empire has had a streak of bad luck recently; it’s normal to be cautious.”

Long Hang stepped out from a side room inside the main hall and walked to the podium, exclaiming excitedly:

”Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm round of applause to welcome the Emperor of Great Dragon to the scene.”

”Clap clap clap.....”

Thunderous applause echoed throughout the room.

In the midst of the applause, an energetic, white-bearded elder stepped out of a side room, closely followed by four high-level guards.

A space had been left in the center of the podium, reserved for the Emperor of Great Dragon.

Seeing the Emperor of Great Dragon making his appearance, the audience was excited, and the applause was long and enthusiastic.

The Emperor of Great Dragon smiled, stood at the center of the podium, and waved to everyone.

The venue quieted down.

The Emperor of Great Dragon began with a few welcome pleasantries, then announced:

”After several days of fierce competition, this Go tournament has concluded successfully. Now, I announce that the third place of this Go exchange tournament is,

Youming Empire, Bai Ming!”

Sitting below, Bai Ming was thrilled to hear his name.

He had originally thought he had no hope, but unexpectedly, Yang Xiao’s elimination of Su Xiao the day before freed up one spot.

Although he’d speculated he might be third yesterday, hearing it announced by the Emperor of Great Dragon himself was still immensely exciting.

Bai Ming stood up, bowed to the Emperor of Great Dragon, and then to the audience who applauded him.

”Second place, Flying Leopard Empire, Wanyan Hong!”

Wanyan Hong also stood up immediately, bowing to the Emperor of Great Dragon and those around him.

The audience held their breath, waiting for the announcement of first place.

Even though everyone knew internally it was Yang Xiao, they still anticipated the official announcement.

”First place, Flying Leopard Empire, Yang Xiao.”

Yang Xiao participated as the State Preceptor of the Flying Leopard Empire; thus, his identity was officially announced as a member of the Flying Leopard Empire.

Thunderous applause echoed across the hall.

Long Aotian felt tense inside; based on yesterday’s discussion, today his father intended to act on the spot to capture Yang Xiao, eradicating future issues.

Then, everyone was astonished to see that Yang Xiao didn’t stand up.

All eyes turned to where Wanyan Hong and Wanyan He were seated, but Yang Xiao was nowhere to be seen.

The applause ceased, and soft murmurs filled the room.

”Hey, where’s Yang Xiao?”

”Where did Yang Xiao go?”

...

Standing on the podium, the Emperor of Great Dragon scanned the audience with piercing eyes.

The host, Long Hang, loudly asked:

”Where is Yang Xiao? Yang Xiao, please come to the podium; our Emperor of Great Dragon has a special award for you.”

The hall was silent, with no sign of Yang Xiao.

Wanyan Hong smiled slightly and said:

”Emperor, Yang Xiao had an urgent matter and returned to the Flying Leopard Empire yesterday. He instructed me to express his thanks to the Emperor and offer his apologies,

and if there are any awards, I shall receive them for him.”

”What? He’s gone?”

The Emperor of Great Dragon couldn’t hide his disappointment.

Sitting on the podium, Long Aotian’s heart sank even further,

”Damn, that kid escaped so quickly?”

The Emperor of Great Dragon glanced at Long Aotian beside him, and the father and son exchanged looks, filled with disappointment and anger.
