Super Gene Hunting Ground

Yang Xiao and Wanyan Hong finished lunch and got up to leave.

”I have something to do, I want to go to the Genetic Store, you two go back first and take care of Bing’er for me.”

Wanyan He said:

”Don’t worry, you go ahead.”

Yang Xiao arrived at the Royal Chess Academy alone.

Normally, Yang Xiao wouldn’t be able to enter the Academy, but as it’s still during the Go exchange tournament, Yang Xiao, being a participant, holds a temporary identity card allowing him to enter and exit the Academy freely.

After entering the Academy, Yang Xiao went to the hall where the morning match took place and found a staff member.

The staff member already recognized Yang Xiao and immediately asked:

”Young Master Yang, is there anything I can help you with?”

”I want to see your dean.”

The staff hesitated for a moment and said:

”Young Master Yang, once the Emperor announces the match results tomorrow, you can see the dean alone and have three chances to play chess alone with her. Why rush?

To be honest, our dean doesn’t easily meet people. Even academy members find it extremely hard to meet her alone.”

Yang Xiao smiled and said:

”I have a letter here, could you please deliver it to the dean? After she sees it, she will naturally meet with me.”

”This?”

The staff looked skeptical.

Many people want to meet the dean, carrying various gifts and pulling various strings, all hoping for a chance to meet her and receive guidance in the next Go game.

Chen Rong has a rule: If she doesn’t want to meet someone, no one can change her mind, not even the Emperor of Great Dragon without an appointment.

Chen Rong hosts a public class every morning, guiding and playing Go with academy students, which is the most precious time for them.

Besides that, students rarely see Chen Rong.

As for Chen Rong’s senior, Liu Suifeng, he’s even harder to meet.

Ever since Chen Rong came, Liu Suifeng gave up the dean position to Chen Rong, essentially retreating backstage, rarely playing Go with ordinary people.

Once, the War God asked to play Go with Liu Suifeng to cultivate spiritual power, but Liu Suifeng responded:

”Beat the dean first, then you can challenge me.”

The War God was left speechless.

It’s known that the best way to cultivate spiritual power is to play Go with masters.

Currently on Witch Star, no one surpasses Liu Suifeng and Chen Rong in Go skills, especially for top figures like the War God and Emperor of Great Dragon who seek to enhance spiritual power; playing with Chen Rong and Liu Suifeng yields the best results.

The War God, usually arrogant, has to show restraint when facing Liu Suifeng.

The War God often boasts:

”Someday I’ll get rid of him, that guy is too arrogant and frustrating.”

However, as much as he boasts, the War God knows that someone like Liu Suifeng is a rare find, and no matter how angry, he cannot easily dispose of him.

Seeing the staff’s expression, Yang Xiao smiled and said:

”Don’t worry, deliver the letter to the dean, she certainly won’t blame you, she might even reward you.”

The staff laughed and replied:

”As long as I don’t get scolded, alright then, I’ll deliver it to the dean, you wait here. There are chairs there, with tea on the table, help yourself.”

Yang Xiao nodded.

The staff immediately ran out of the hall, heading towards Chen Rong’s residence.

Chen Rong, having finished lunch, was resting in her quarters.

A maid walked in.

”Dean, someone outside asked me to deliver a letter to you.”

Chen Rong glanced at the letter in the maid’s hand and said indifferently:

”Who is it? No thanks.”

The maid, accustomed to such situations, said:

”I’ll go refuse then.”

The maid turned to leave with the letter, but Chen Rong glanced at the letter in her hand and suddenly said:

”Let me see that letter.”

”Alright.”

The maid handed the letter to Chen Rong.

Chen Rong unfolded the letter, glanced at it, and froze, her hand holding the letter trembling slightly.

It read:

Senior Sister, I am Yang Xiao, do you remember me? I am the registered disciple of Master Chen Guohua from Kongming City Nanmu City.

Chess Saint Chen Guohua is the Chess Saint of Xuanming Country, originally from Kongming City, so after he gained fame, he established a Go training school in Nanmu City, Kongming City, specifically recruiting talented students.

Yang Xiao isn’t Chen Guohua’s true disciple, just registered at his training school; Chen Guohua personally guided Yang Xiao in only two games, the first during the interview.

In fact, Chen Rong personally taught Yang Xiao for nearly a year.

”Yang Xiao?”

Chen Rong murmured his name, a light flashing in her mind, Yang Xiao’s vague shadow appeared in her thoughts.

”Yang Xiao? How come it’s him, he’s at Witch Star?”

Chen Rong was very excited, it was truly incredible, akin to when she was brought to Witch Star and saw Liu Suifeng.

”Where’s the messenger?”

”Outside.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Rong hesitated briefly, then rushed outside.

The messenger staff was standing outside at the moment, seeing no one coming out for a long time, he thought, this kid Yang Xiao thinks winning a championship is enough to meet our dean, but he’s not qualified.

Just as he was about to leave, he saw a flash at the door, Chen Rong came rushing out, running to him:

”Who gave you this letter? Where is he?”

The staff was startled, thinking he caused trouble, quickly explaining:

”Dean, I didn’t want to deliver the letter, but he insisted, saying you’d definitely meet him after reading it. Sigh, these young people think they’re wonderful after a Go tournament win, let me refuse him and teach him a lesson...”

The staff rambled, turning to leave.

Chen Rong urgently shouted:

”Enough with the nonsense, take me to see him, hurry.”

”Huh?”

”What huh? Quickly.”

”Uh, okay, okay, immediately!”

The staff was stunned, mouth agape, quickly turned to run towards the front hall, filled with deep curiosity, damn it, Yang Xiao’s letter sparked such excitement in the dean.

Finding the staff too slow, Chen Rong used Instantaneous Movement to fly forward.

In a blink, she landed at the Chess Academy’s entrance.

Scanning outside, seeing no Yang Xiao, she walked into the hall and from afar saw a young handsome man sitting by a table, leisurely sipping tea.

Chen Rong hadn’t seen Yang Xiao for seven or eight years, back then Yang Xiao had just started high school.

Now Yang Xiao had transformed significantly, more mature and composed, exuding charisma.

Of course, there remained traces of his former self.

Chen Rong gazed at him from afar, slowly approaching.

Yang Xiao was bored, looked up to see Chen Rong approaching, immediately set down his tea cup, standing up.

Chen Rong stopped about five meters away, their eyes met, sharing a smile.

”Senior Sister, do you still recognize me?”

”You rascal, I’d recognize you even if you turned to ash! Haha...”
